BBentley Motors unveils the latest evolution of its iconic Continental GT Speed, marking a significant leap forward in the model's 21-year legacy. Upholding tradition, the fourthgeneration GT Speed seamlessly blends exhilarating supercar performance with unparalleled luxury and everyday practicality.
Inside and outside, the new Continental GT Speed has undergone extensive redesigns demonstrating Bentley's latest design DNA, established by the coachbuilt Bacalar and Batur. From the redesigned rear of the car, to the visually cleaned silhouette, to the front end, Bentley's designers have given the new GT Speed a more muscular appearance while giving it the stance of a "resting beast."
The most significant revision of the Continental GT Speed can be found up front. Peering down the road from the front of the new Bentley are a pair of single headlights reminiscent of 1950s Bentley models, marking the first time a mainstream Bentley sported single headlights in over six decades. Inside each headlight are 120 separate LED lights, each digitally controlled for increased illumination capabilities. Bentley has also ensured that the transition between lit and unlit areas is gradual and natural, giving drivers a more relaxing experience void of "black holes" in their field of vision.

The taillights feature a dramatic new design with a wider graphic, three-dimensional diamond pattern, and a molten lava-like e ect when illuminated.
The inside of the Continental GT Speed has also undergone a design revolution, giving the driver and passengers a new perspective on what it means to travel in luxury at speed. This has been made evident with features like the optional Wellness seating with Postural Adjust, air ionization, sculptured quilting, the choice of three audio systems, the innovative Bentley Rotating Display, and much more that can be discovered from the new GT Speed's seats.
The new Dark Chrome Interior Specification further enhances the car's cabin, giving it more character than ever before. This treatment includes the door handles, switches, speaker grilles, and more. Combined with the Continental GT Speed's mood lighting, which o ers 30 color options, this new specification transforms the cabin into the ultimate luxury environment.
No matter which of the three audio systems is selected, no driver will want to miss out on the Continental GT Speed's best audio component: its engine. At the heart of the new Bentley is the all-new 4.0-liter V8 engine that works in cooperation with an electric motor. The engine alone produces 584 bhp, while the
electric motor adds 187 bhp for 771 bhp and 738 lb-ft of torque. This power pushes the Grand Tourer from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds while a top speed of 208 mph awaits. Compared to the outgoing generation equipped with a W12 engine, this new iteration of the GT Speed sees an 11% increase in power. Those power figures make this model the most powerful Bentley ever.
When it comes to defining a luxurious drive, nothing is more lavish than a silent, peaceful, and environmentally friendly drive. That's why the new Continental GT Speed can travel up to 50 miles in the electric-only mode.

Customers can also select their roof in seven colors, including tweed. Performance figures are equally impressive as the roof’s deployment speed, with the GTC Speed reaching 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 177 mph.

Bugatti hones in on what makes a hypercar thrilling by combining a brand-new naturally aspirated V16 with three electric motors totaling 1,800 hp.

WWhen automakers say they’re thinking of the future, it usually involves a roadmap for the next 10 to 15 years. With the Chiron’s replacement, the 1,800-horsepower Tourbillon, Bugatti isn’t looking ahead a few decades but instead to the finely trimmed lawns of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance a century from now.
Bugatti’s obsession with timelessness has been a driving force since the beginning of its third chapter 25 years ago. Despite being a technological powerhouse, essentially refining what it meant for a road car to be “over-engineered,” the Veyron has nearly no components that date it. By abstaining from the early 2000s trend of filling cabins with lowres screens powered by cumbersome infotainment
systems, interacting with the Veyron is not too dissimilar to the Chiron that succeeded it.
The Tourbillon’s design works to serve its top speed of 276 mph. Drawing from the carmaker’s back catalog, including cars like the Type 35 racer, the mythical Type 57 SC Atlantic, and the elegant Type 41 Royale, the Tourbillon now sits lower to the ground, visually widening the car. However, four key elements: its horseshoe grille, central ridge, dualcolor split, and the Bugatti line are present, with all lines emerging from its central opening.
As carmakers lean into all-out electrification, the French carmaker unveils a brand-new 8.3-liter naturally aspirated V16 engine co-developed with legendary engineering firm Cosworth. Despite lacking any forced induction, the V16 generates 1,000 hp by itself, just one shy of the Veyron’s quadturbo W16. It achieves this despite weighing just 555 pounds. However, it’s not alone. Drawing from its sister brand Rimac, the Tourbillon houses three electric motors, two in its front axle and one in the rear. This setup not only develops a further 800 hp, but Bugatti integrated it to sharpen throttle response and fill in torque when necessary, aside from allowing for true torque vectoring and all-wheel traction.
Its total system output is 1,800 hp, and its naturally aspirated engine spins to a screaming 9,000 rpm. While the Tourbillon is still under development,
Bugatti claims it’ll sprint to 62 mph in two seconds, reach 124 mph in less than five seconds, and hit its limited top speed of 248 mph in under 25 seconds. However, it activates its Speed Key, and its limit rises to 276 mph. Its new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and electronic limited-slip di erential make these figures possible.
Housed in its central tunnel behind the passengers sits an 800-volt, 25-kilowatt-hour battery pack, allowing the Tourbillon to travel under electric power alone for up to 37 miles. However, despite integrating its new engine, battery pack, and electric motors, Bugatti’s latest is nearly 150-lb lighter than the Chiron that preceded it. To achieve these weight savings, the Bugatti Tourbillon rides on an entirely new carbon composite chassis and body structure, with its battery working as a structural component. Step inside, and the Tourbillon pairs an elevated level of craftsmanship to balance out its extreme engineering. In keeping with the theme of timelessness, it doesn’t sport any fixed large displays, not even the Chiron’s small screens, which flanked its central tachometer. Instead, Bugatti leaned again into the watchmaking world for its new interior, calling on Swiss watchmakers to develop its skeletonized gauge cluster. Comprised of over 600 components, precious stones decorate the analog dials.
As the French carmaker pulls the covers o its latest o ering, the Bugatti Tourbillon is still in the testing phase of its development, with prototypes covering miles worldwide. Unlike the Chiron, its successor’s production run shrinks to just 250 units with a starting price of over $4 million. Its assembly is expected to begin once the brand completes its run of W16 models, with deliveries commencing sometime in 2026.

A NEW KIND OF GT
The new GT 63 has practically perfect proportions thanks to enlarged headlights, a widened grille, and a vast movable rear wing.

If a theme surrounds the latest 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 63, it’s one of change. Instead of introducing a second-generation product that builds upon the foundations laid by the first, AMG decided to stray considerably from its original formula. However, is such a shift indeed for the better?
At first glance, there’s credible cause for concern. For starter’s the new GT 63 rides on the same platform as the SL, and while it’s still an AMG-developed and built structure, it’s that of a 2+2, not a strict two-seater. There are weight penalties, too, with the latest 63 tipping the scales at a whopping 4,343 lb or 783 lb over the outgoing model. And in the case of the 55 and 63 models, it’s only available with all-wheel drive.
Look beyond the headline figures, however, and there are equal reasons for excitement. Its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 now develops 577 hp, matching the outgoing GT R and GT R Pro. Thanks to a quick-shifting nine-speed automatic and all-wheel traction, it hides its extra heft well in a straight line, ripping a 3.1-second 0-60 time, beating out its considerably lighter predecessor.
Although the new GT 63’s dimensions have swollen in every metric, it wears its new styling particularly well. Much more than an SL with a fixed roof, the latest GT introduces an aesthetic all

its own, pairing a long hood with a passenger cabin just ahead of the rear axle. Its headlights, grilles, exhaust tips, di user, and rear active wing have also been upsized to match its new proportions. The GT blends a sloping roof, a stunning set of 21-inch forged split spoke gold wheels, and matte Starling Blue Magno paint to create the look of a proper sports car, albeit quite a big one.
Its added size pays dividends in terms of cabin space, with more ample room for its front passengers, while adding two tiny rear seats as standard. However, this tester and its AMG Performance Seats delete the second row in favor of a flat storage space. Complementing the added room are upgraded interior materials and a minimal screen-reliant cabin. Although its large displays allow for greater customization flexibility, some of its touch sliders and screen-only menus make on-the-fly adjustments an occasional challenge.
Dive into a bend on your favorite back road, however, and the GT does a considerable job of hiding its extra heft. Thanks mainly to its 295/35 and 305/35 section Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 rubber and standard adaptive suspension, the 63 kicks o the experience with excellent grip levels and a clever anti-roll system that does its best to dial out unwanted body roll. Pick the pace up, however, and you’ll begin to feel the impacts of that weight as the latest GT

isn’t as eager to change direction, nor does it feel as light on its feet as its predecessor overall.
What it lacks in ability, however, it makes up for with tremendous bursts of straight-line speed. Although this iteration of the new GT lacks any electrification, its straightline performance is striking, as are its high-speed stability and the stopping forces generated by its composite brakes. Equally striking is the GT’s updated pricing, with this tester starting at $178,750, including fees, while carrying an as-tested price of $209,310.
There is no question that the 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 is a vastly di erent machine than the one it replaces. It’s quicker, more powerful, spacious, and considerably more refined. For those after a sporty grand tourer, this latest model aligns more closely with its name. However, those after the proper sports car experience will find that perhaps the GT has changed just a bit too much.

Known for housing some of the world’s finest automobiles, Concours events like the iconic Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event are where automotive excellence is celebrated in its highest form. The most excellent cars are awarded with titles that carry lasting legacy and renown with them. To win those coveted awards, collectors all over the world go to incredible lengths to bring one-ofa-kind vehicles to events, elevating a Concours d’Elegance far beyond a typical car show.
To get an inside perspective on what the lifestyle of Concours d’Elegance competitors involves, we talked to The Cultivated Collector, a dealer that specializes in acquiring hidden gems and classics that are made for being paraded on Concours lawns, and learned all about the unique aspects of being a car collector in the Concours d’Elegance realm.

relevant car culture icons, all chosen with the goal of bringing a captivating mix of cars to be judged. Collectors are then notified well in advance of what the categories will be, with enough time to make arrangements.
Often, manufacturers like Ferrari see the most competition at these events, with over 75 years worth of masterpieces within its repertoire. In addition, aiming for Best of Show often means acquiring and painstakingly restoring a vehicle like a pre-war classic, with minuscule production numbers, a captivating story, and ideally, extensive documentation. Cultivated Collector noted that it isn’t uncommon for these e orts to take years and cost millions of dollars, and even then, success isn’t a guarantee.
As the automotive industry evolves, so do the classics that are at events like the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Of course, these automotive gatherings will always be a place where the incredible e ort that goes into preserving centuryold classics from the early days of the automotive industry will be celebrated, but more recent
chapters in automotive history are sharing the spotlight, with categories for wedge-shaped cars, GT1 racers and more cropping up.
There’s no doubt that the pursuit of victory is enticing, and while “Concours d’Elegance” literally translates from French to “competition of elegance,” it’s about more than just the awards for many collectors. It’s just as much about celebrating, sharing, and fostering a passion for automotive history, and getting a chance to bring together some of the world’s most beautiful cars that you certainly don’t see every day.
The Cultivated Collector says that for them, the most rewarding aspect of Concours d’Elegance participation is “sharing a beautiful historical object and its story with the world.” When it means spending immense amounts of money and time, and embarking on daunting or even dangerous international journeys to acquire and showcase an automotive masterpiece, there’s no doubt that entering these events is a real labor of love.

In sunny Daytona during January 1956, Corvette’s EX-87 broke the 150 mph barrier that eluded all previous American sports cars. The cheeseburger was fifteen cents, James Dean’s Porsche 550 Spyder had just been reduced to rubble, Frank Sinatra had just released his first 12” LP, and the car world was changing.

When Belgian-born engineer, Zora Duntov, the “Father of the Corvette,” placed a small-block engine in the Polo White, chrome-lined 1954 body, he knew what he was doing. It was this combination that would herald the new age of American automotive performance. Duntov’s 1953 letter to Maurice Olley, GM’s director of research and development, tells of the fight to win over the hearts and minds of “hot-rodders,” setting the stage for a vision that blossomed within the great shadow cast by Ford. “Since we cannot prevent the people from racing Corvettes, maybe it is better to help them do a good job at it,” he writes. The EX-87 is not only a glowing artifact of car history, but the embodiment of the mechanical innovation and attention to detail that made Corvette iconic and quintessentially American.
The first-of-its-kind, record-setting engine required a slew of other changes to the chassis and mechanics, including a new hi-lift camshaft, now known as the “Duntov Cam.” Aimed at rivalling the Thunderbird, the EX-87 stood out as a Chevrolet o ering that prioritized performance. It is brutally quick. It looks as if it’s straight out of the Jetsons’ garage. It revived the Corvette name from an underwhelming start, o ering not perfection but an approach––an ethos––that would forever alter the landscape of American sports cars.
One can imagine the thrill of witnessing the demonstrations that this car was a part of, hearing the sputtering growl of the engine as it reached speeds previously unreachable. After the original prototype topped out

Excepting the “Venetian Red” finish, which nods to the rare “Sportsman Red” of its original body, and a few replaced parts, this car is the original desert-tested fantasy dreamt up by Duntov.
