Food Can Race Henry Chen | Junior Member “ The Food Can Race was an event where all of the members and members from NHS tried to race to get canned food items from nearby houses. It was a competition between NHS and Key Club to see who could get the most cans and whoever did would win a small trophy. The cans that we received go to Durango students who cannot afford to eat a Thanksgiving dinner. It felt good to provide the students that I see and pass by on a daily basis, with food. I went around with a small group of members and developed deeper bonds with them. I’m thankful that I had the opportunity to help my classmates and have fun in the process. “
Flamingo Park Clean up Christian Manalastas| Sophomore Member “ On December 10, 2016 I volunteered to clean Flamingo Park in Las Vegas. Along with other Key Clubbers, I swept the sidewalks, raked leaves, and picked up trash that is known to be hazardous to the environment. Items like cigarette buds, beer bottle caps, styrofoam, and other sorts of trash were picked up. After spending time with friends and working hard, we could easily see the significant difference our clean up had made to the park. Flamingo Park is now clean thanks to the dedication of Durango Key Club. “
