REJUVENATE THE STUDENTS Students are the main generators for the Eco-Cafe. The objective is to REJUVENATE THE STUDENTS by focusing on their health through Exercise, Space, Diet, and Good Deeds. By providing a space which opposed the norm of a class can help the students rejuvenate their self and express themselves in the cafe. Flexible and vibrant space instead of a rigid restaurant layout.

ARCHITECTURE + GROWTH Growth is the process of increasing in physical size (Developement, Sprouting, or Blooming. It is a natural process surrounding us. We see it in plant, animal and humans. The main cause of growth is usually related to cell enlargement or increasing number. All living beings on this earth consumes food in order to grow. In Architecture, growth often occurs when there is a growth in number of occupants. For example Traditional Malay House which is a modular design
Architecture as living organism which grows over time and with more materials. The Eco-Cafe will be a living cafe which grows over time. The idea is to build the Cafe using recycle materials such bottles or cans collected from the nearby buildings and collected from/by students. Resulting from the involvement of students, they will have emotional attachment to the cafe since its their hardwork which make the cafe a reality. 10

SITE SETTING
Located in the City Centre of Kuala Lumpur, at the intersection of Jalan Imbi, Jalan Kampung Pandan and Jalan Sultan Ismail. Despite the location of the site near several landmarks, the site area is isolated due to poor permeability and attraction. It is found that the area contains variety of commercial types including a famous local restaurants which serves Chinese cuisine. There are also a few of un-developed green pockets which have the potential to be new greed nodes of the area. Populated by locals and mostly foreigners. Fahrenheit 88

“NEIGHBOURHOOD CONCEPT In order to create a convivial office, the design must respond to the surrounding of the site. Instead of alienating the design language from the context, the building should adapt the context design language. Common development usually tear the site and create a monolith structure which are not accesible resulting in poor permeability of the area. People have to go around the building in order to get to the other side. By lifting the building up, the building will not distrupt the continuity of the public realm, instead it assists the public realm by providing shade and shelter. Creating a community inside the office, by imitating a townhouse-like environment with natural daylighting provided by the artificial sky which reflect daylight deep into the courtyard.
