concept
Symbiosis
(From greek “together” and “living”) is close and often long-term interaction between two or more different biological species.
design statement
To design a small green community centre for the residence around Persiaran Mahogani and Persiaran Bidara area which to create both physical, ecological and spiritual linkage between the community and the nature around them to then create the feeling of responsibility and love towards mother nature. This could then help to promote responsibility towards the environment and promote sustainable living and living greener. We intended to promote sustainable lifestyle in terms of health, social and economy by having a ‘ community driven campus ‘ which follow and driven mainly by the community. The campus would provide interactive programs and active design thus helping them interact and connect better with the environment and community.
Derived from the word Symbiosis which mean the interaction of two things. The interaction between Man & Nature always being questioned because of the environmental problems such as global warming, deforestation and destruction of land caused by human. We have to change our relationship status with Nature from “parisitic” into “mutualism”. Both side depend on each other to create a better life and Earth.
design aim “You say you love rain, but you use an umbrella to walk under it. You say you love sun, but you seek shelter when it is shining. You say you love wind, but when it comes you close your windows. So that’s why I’m scared when you say you love me.”
- Bob Marley
