Harvey D. Bruce Hall Renovation Built in 1956, Harvey D. Bruce Hall was originally home to the president’s and vice president’s offices as well as the library. Dr. Amber Daub, Dean of the School of Education, shares, "The School of Education is forever grateful for the opportunity to work in one of the most current, relevant, and ideal learning environments that I have seen at any level. Tiger Square New Addition to Campus The Tiger statue that long stood by the entrance to Scarborough Chapel, has found a home in the newly created Tiger Square on the East Texas Baptist University campus. Positioned just west of Keys Gym in the heart of our athletic quadrant of campus, Tiger Square serves as a monumental tribute to our Tiger student-athletes, past and present. The highly visible location of Tiger Square has become a go-to photo opportunity for prospective students and alumni to chronicle their visit to the ETBU campus. "Our desire was to design a gathering space for future Tigers to share their momentous experience of when they visit the ETBU campus or for new graduates, as they commemorate their time on the Hill,” shared Director of Community Engagement and Special Project Manager Kendall Westbrook ('20, ’22) who designed the new ETBU campus space. “Tiger Square, inspired by our bronze Tiger sculpture given by Ed, Delores, and Tanya Baker, was created to be an outdoor park for our students, faculty, staff, and guests to gather in reflection of the ETBU Tiger community."
Alumni Spotlight: Stephanie (Conrod) Rogers ('13) A self-proclaimed “gamer”, Stephanie (Conrod) Rogers (’13) has turned that passion into her dream job as a Product Marketing Manager for Microsoft. Stephanie combines her passions for marketing and gaming, as she works with game developers to market their games in the crowded gaming environment. It reminds her of time spent in the Bennett Student Commons hosting Halo tournaments for fellow ETBU students and that experience has benefitted her professionally now in London, England. Originally from Seattle, Washington, during her time in East Texas the faculty and staff of ETBU cared for her personally and ministered to her during the challenges that life throws at students, especially students far from home. Upon graduation with a degree in Business Administration, she returned to Seattle accepting a position with Expedia.com in Marketing. When her home church planned to send a plant team to London, Stephanie and her husband jumped at the opportunity and in December 2020 moved across the Atlantic Ocean. How exciting to see Tigers shining light from around the world!
