ETBU Hosts Hundreds for Family Weekend
East Texas Baptist University welcomed students, families, and the community for Family Weekend 2024, held on Friday, September 27, and Saturday, September 28. The event offered a variety of activities that celebrated Tiger pride, fellowship, and campus life. The weekend included live music, lawn games, family worship, faculty and family connection, and multiple Tiger Athletics events.
“Family Weekend allows us to connect with the families who play such an important role in our students' success,” Senior Vice President for Campus Life Ryan Erwin said. “It's a time to share the progress we've made together, showcase the campus life their students are thriving in, and celebrate the Christ-centered growth happening here at ETBU."
Speech Language Pathology Graduate Program Launching at ETBU in Fall 2025
East Texas Baptist University is proud to announce significant milestones in its Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP) program, including Candidacy for Accreditation, the opening of the application portal, and the launch of a new Leveling Track.
The MS-SLP program at ETBU was granted Candidacy for Accreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association on May 29, 2024. In line with its mission to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to make a Christ-centered impact in the field of speech-language pathology, ETBU is launching a new Leveling Track. This track is
designed for students who hold a bachelor’s degree in a field other than Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) and are seeking to transition into the MS-SLP program.

ETBU Preview Day and Tiger Day are designed specifically for prospective freshmen and transfer students and their families. These events are great opportunities to explore campus, experience college life in person, and to ask questions about attending East Texas Baptist University. The next Preview Day is Monday, October 14 and the next Tiger Day is Saturday, November 16. Encourage a young person in your life to attend an upcoming Preview Day or Tiger Day.

Mark your calendar and make plans to return to your Home on the Hill Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19! Visit the familiar places of your college home and tour ETBU's newest and recently refurbished facilities throughout campus. Reconnect with ETBC/ETBU friends while making new memories at Homecoming 2024.
ETBU Trustee Dr. Roy J. Cotton, Sr. Honored by Texas Baptists
Dr. Roy J. Cotton, Sr. was recently honored by the Baptist General Convention of Texas for his decades of faithful service. Dr. Cotton provided noteworthy leadership of the African American Ministries department of the B.G.C.T. for 21 years prior to his retirement. Read more.
