ETBU Takes on New Role with Polly Cargill Nursing Scholarship East Texas Baptist University is partnering with the Cargill family to help facilitate the Polly Cargill Nursing Scholarship program. Jerry and Jack Cargill founded the scholarship to honor their mother, Polly Cargill, and support nursing students in their journey to become competent, equipped, compassionate health care workers. ETBU will now administer the Polly Cargill Nursing Scholarship for students from East Texas and Northwest Louisiana who have been admitted into a regional Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The Cargill family has also established the Polly Cargill Endowed Nursing Scholarship at ETBU for students admitted to the School of Nursing. The Polly Cargill Endowed Nursing Scholarship was established with an initial gift of $282,000 and was matched by an anonymous ETBU donor to bring the corpus of the endowed scholarship to $564,000. The income generated from the endowment will support ETBU students preparing for a career in nursing.
