#TalkCommunities In a statement at the beginning of November Carl Sargeant, Cabinet Minister for Communities and Children, said “I am minded to phase out the Communities First programme while establishing a new approach to meet the challenges of the future” he goes on to say “This means communities that are empowered and engaged; communities that are ready and able to work; communities that can offer children the best start in life”. East Cardiff, Llanedeyrn and Pentwyn Communities First and C3SC remain positive that the majority of projects we deliver address and support the key priorities that have been outlined by Welsh Government. We look forward to contributing to the consultation and working closely with the Welsh Government and all our partners to develop services that will continue to support and involve local people.

If you have taken part in any Communities First activities or even if you haven’t please consider filling in the consultation and let Welsh Government know what you think. You can find the consultation and other ways to have your say by googling ‘Welsh Government Talk Communities’ http://gov.wales/topics/people-andcommunities/communities/talk-communities/?lang=en Please include your postcode in your response. 7|Page
