Catwalk for a Cause To all of our Catwalk heroes that walked the catwalk, you are AMAZING! What a great event for these brave women who battle ovarian cancer with such grace. This event which took place the night before the Daytona 500, showcased the need for Ovarian Cancer awareness and research. The event was hosted by the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation. Both Martin and Sherry greeted the crowd and introduce the night’s program. Martin currently competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series driving the No. 19 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing He is the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series champion and a two-time NASCAR Xfinity Series champion. For the past 11 years, the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation (MTJF) hosted their signature event, Catwalk for a Cause, in the Charlotte, NC area. Catwalk was created by MTJF co-founder Sherry Pollex, an ovarian cancer survivor and long-time partner of NASCAR Cup Series driver Martin Truex Jr., to put the spotlight on childhood cancer heroes for a night of fun and philanthropy. In 2022, her Catwalk vision will be expanding to include a new location in Daytona Beach, FL, with a focus on the brave women diagnosed with gynecological cancers. These women will strut the runway alongside
prominent women in NASCAR to create an unforgettable night. Amazing survivors strut their stuff for Catwalk for a Cause hosted by 11-year ovarian cancer survivor, Sherry Pollex at Daytona One. Catwalk(s) heroes included: Lisa Bowen, Mai Linh Nguyen Achong, Judi Feldman, Bonnie Donihi, Dorine Olive, Julie Milligan, Kashley Ryna,
Sherry Baird, Ruthie Snyder, April Williams, and Karen Ingalls. Raising money and awareness. All of the proceeds from the event will benefit AdventHealth Daytona, that will develop an integrative medicine clinic similar to the SherryStrong Integrative Medicine Oncology Clinic location in Charlotte. This clinic will be ideal for the cancer patients at AdventHealth Daytona.
