Important partnership between Assomac and UITIC

e synergy between the two associations will manifest itself in a seminar during September’s Simac Tanning Tech and during the organisation of the UITIC International Footwear Technology Congress in 2023.

An important partnership between Assomac and UITIC was announced at the end of June in Milan at the Assolombarda headquarters in front of numerous industry professionals.

UITIC and ASSOMAC at Simac Tanning Tech

The first step of this partnership will be the presence and joint participation at the Simac Tanning Tech exhibition to be held from 20 to 22 September 2022 at Fiera Milano Rho. “If the international scenario has forced us to review the very essence of the events, Simac Tanning Tech was not caught unprepared and has rethought its organisational and offer model in an increasingly strategic key, transforming itself into an international networking hub whose highlights are fundamental for the reference sector and its protagonists,” said Maria Vittoria Brustia, President of Assomac Servizi, while outlining the innovations planned for the next edition of the exhibition. From the debut of the information platform (news.simactanningtech.com) to the rich panel of workshops and talks hosted in the exhibition halls, as well as the increasingly numerous apps that will allow visitors to better organise their visit to the exhibition and the renewed collaboration with ambassadors and journalists. And let’s not forget the prestigious partnerships – such as that with the ICE Agency, which, as usual, will allow the arrival of trade delegations from all over the world, and with SPS Italia, presented in the technological corner dedicated to new Industry 4.0 enabling technologies – that have contributed to the exponential growth of Simac Tanning Tech. Everything is based on two common denominators: relationships, which are essential for making the fair a community, and collaboration among all stakeholders to make Simac Tanning Tech the technological platform for the fashion system. “The partnership with UITIC was a natural landing place that, in September’s appointment, will find its first expression and, above all, the right stage to promote the goal that unites us: to spread and create an open and shared system so that we can all improve and grow with a healthy competitive and collaborative spirit,” concluded Maria Vittoria Brustia.

The 2023 World Congress of Footwear Technology

Assomac and UITIC will also collaborate on the 21st International Footwear Congress to be held in 2023 in Milan and Vigevano. Yves Morin, President of UITIC International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians, illustrated the added value of the synergy: “UITIC and its associates are delighted to join a prestigious Italian partner like ASSOMAC in organising the 21st International Footwear Congress. Italy is considered an undisputed world leader in terms of innovation and technology with regard to the leather and footwear industry. We could not have wished for a better location to mark the restart of our congresses. All our efforts are being put into the organisation of this 21st congress, which will also coincide with the celebration of UITIC’s

50th anniversary and will be held in conjunction with Simac Tanning Tech.” And he concluded, “It will be exciting to see us all together again after 5 years of absence in a country that has already hosted our 13th Congress in Fermo (1999) and 6th in Milan (1983)”.

Themes of the Congress

His words were echoed by Sergio Dulio, member of the Executive Committee of UITIC and part of the ITA UITIC Task Force, who illustrated the themes that will guide the upcoming UITIC World Congress in Milan and Vigevano. “In the two days of the congress we will show participants the most important technological evolutions and trends that will influence the way shoes are designed and manufactured. Relevant topics will include sustainability, digital transformation, logistics and supply chains, as well as the evolution of consumption, with a special focus on the human capital of tomorrow. The programme will be enriched by the contribution of selected keynote speakers and anticipated by a 3-day calender of conferences consisting of visits to companies in the area and immersive experiences in innovation, such as participation in a day at Simac Tanning Tech and visits to important scientific and technological centres also outside the sector. It will be a not-to-be-missed opportunity to gain inspiration, to network and update.” The press conference was opened by Veronica Squinzi, Vice-president of Assolombarda responsible for internationalisation and Europe, who underlined how the Region of Lombardy, thanks also to this scheduled event, is confirmed as the reference point of internationalisation of the manufacturing system. “Let’s not forget that 12% of national exports are made in the four provinces of Milan, Lodi, Monza Brianza and Pavia alone, which represent the reference territory of Assolombarda. That is 64 billion euros in 2021 alone. Mechanics, Metals and Fashion are the leading manufacturing sectors in the nation. Supply chains that demonstrate our strength and our ability to penetrate foreign markets, with companies based in Lombardy as the real spearhead of our global presence.” Roberto Luongo, Director General of the ICE Agency, also spoke, underlining how “ICE’s relationship with Assomac is a tried and tested one. For years, the Agency has been pleased to contribute to the success of Simac Tanning Tech, the most important international trade fair for the sector and the only one with an exhibition of machinery. Il Congresso Mondiale della tecnologia calzaturiera del 2023

Assomac e UITIC collaboreranno anche in occasione del 21st International Footwear Congress, il Convegno Mondiale della tecnologia calzaturiera che si terrà nel 2023 tra Milano e Vigevano. Yves Morin, Presidente di UITIC International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians, ha illustrato il valore aggiunto della sinergia: “UITIC e i suoi associati sono lieti di unirsi a un partner italiano prestigioso come ASSOMAC in vista dell’organizzazione del 21st International Footwear Congress. L’Italia è considerata nel mondo come il Paese di indiscusso riferimento in termini di innovazione e tecnologia per quanto riguarda l’industria della pelle e della calzatura. Non potevamo desiderare location migliore per segnare la ripartenza dei nostri congressi. Tutti i nostri sforzi sono rivolti all’organizzazione di questo 21mo congresso che coinciderà anche con la celebrazione del 50mo anniversario di UITIC e si svolgerà in concomitanza con Simac Tanning Tech”. I temi del Congresso

A lui ha fatto eco Sergio Dulio, membro del Comitato Esecutivo di UITIC e parte della ITA UITIC Task Force, illustrando le tematiche che guideranno il prossimo Congresso Mondiale UITIC Milano Vigevano. “Durante le 2 giornate congressuali esporremo i partecipanti alle più importanti evoluzioni e tendenze tecnologiche che influenzeranno il modo in cui le scarpe sono progettate e realizzate. Saranno rilevanti i temi della sostenibilità, della trasformazione digitale, della logistica e delle catene di approvvigionamento, dell’evoluzione dei consumi, con un focus particolare sul capitale umano di domani. Il programma sarà arricchito dal contributo di selezionati keynote speaker e anticipato da un calendario precongressuale di 3 giorni costituito da momenti di visita nelle aziende del territorio ed esperienze immersive nell’innovazione, come la partecipazione per un giorno a Simac Tanning Tech e visite a importanti centri scientifici e tecnologici anche fuori settore. Sarà un’occasione imperdibile per trarre ispirazione, ritrovarsi, fare network e aggiornarsi”. Veronica Squinzi, Vicepresidente Assolombarda con Delega all’Internazionalizzazione e all’Europa, aprendo la conferenza stampa, ha sottolineato come la Lombardia, grazie anche a questo evento in programma, si confermi il punto di riferimento del percorso di internazionalizzazione del sistema produttivo: ”Ricordiamo che il 12% dell’export nazionale è realizzato nelle sole 4 province di Milano, Lodi, Monza Brianza e Pavia, che rappresentano il territorio di riferimento di Assolombarda. Si tratta di 64 miliardi di euro nel solo 2021. Meccanica, Metalli e Moda sono i settori trainanti del manifatturiero a livello nazionale. Filiere che dimostrano la nostra forza e la nostra capacità di penetrazione nei mercati esteri, con le imprese lombarde vera punta di diamante della nostra presenza globale”. È intervenuto anche Roberto Luongo, Direttore Generale di ICE Agenzia, sottolineando come “il rapporto di ICE con Assomac è un rapporto collaudato. L'Agenzia da anni è lieta di contribuire al successo di Simac Tanning Tech, la manifestazione fieristica di settore più importante a livello internazionale e l'unica con esposizione di macchinari. Anche quest'anno abbiamo in programma azioni di comunicazione e, soprattutto, una nutrita delegazione di oltre 100 tra operatori e giornalisti da 19 Paesi considerati strategici per un settore che nel primo trimestre di quest'anno ha segnato un +8,7% rispetto allo stesso periodo del 2021".
