FLOWER MOUNTAIN DRAWS INSPIRATION FROM NATURAL CYCLES, INSTILLING CREATIVE IDEAS IN FOOTWEAR BASED ON MOTIFS TYPICAL OF THE PLANT WORLD The brand was born from the meeting between Keisuke Ota and Yang Chao, thanks to the common passion for mountain trekking, music and, of course, footwear.

The resulting friendship pushes them to embark on a journey together on the occasion of the "Fuji Rock Festival", held on the mountain of the same name in Japan.

There they begin to sketch a shoe with a functional and captivating design named Flower MOUNTAIN. So in 2015 the two designers first founded the Dandelion Mountaineering Association, then Breath Design co. Ltd Tokyo and start designing their first shoe collection. In 2016 they join forces with ShoesBar and the Italian company Falc, taking Flower MOUNTAIN to the next level and presenting it to the international markets. The new working team boasts a strong technical and production knowhow with Italian headquarters and tradition, as well as a group of marketing experts and an efficient worldwide distribution network.

The unisex collections focus on cult details: exotic-inspired graphics, intense colours, embroideries that recall evocative atmospheres. A combination of design, fashion and materials projected towards a new way of conceiving urban style.

FLOWER MOUNTAIN TRAE ISPIRAZIONE DAI CICLI NATURALI, INFONDENDO NELLE CALZATURE IDEE CREATIVE BASATE SU MOTIVI TIPICI DEL MONDO VEGETALE Il brand nasce dall’incontro tra Keisuke Ota e Yang Chao, grazie alla passione comune per il trekking in montagna, la musica e, ovviamente, le calzature.

L'amicizia che ne deriva li spinge ad intraprendere un viaggio insieme in occasione del "Fuji Rock Festival", svoltosi sull’omonimo monte in Giappone. Lì iniziano a progettare una scarpa dal design funzionale e accattivante chiamata Flower MOUNTAIN. Così nel 2015 i due designer fondano prima la Dandelion Mountaineering Association, poi la Breath Design co. Ltd Tokyo e iniziano a progettare la loro prima collezione di scarpe. Nel 2016 uniscono le forze con ShoesBar e l'italiana Falc, portando Flower MOUNTAIN al livello successivo e presentandolo ai mercati internazionali. Il nuovo team lavorativo vanta un forte knowhow tecnico e di produzione con sede e tradizione italiane, nonchè un gruppo di esperti marketing e un'efficiente rete di distribuzione su scala mondiale.

Le collezioni di impronta unisex si concentrano su dettagli cult: grafica di ispirazione esotica, colori intensi, ricami che richiamano atmosfere evocative.

Una combinazione tra design, moda e materiali proiettata verso un nuovo modo di concepire lo stile urbano.

HADAR SLASSI Israeli designer Hadar Slassi introduces the ‘walk of mind’ shoes, a hybrid fabrication design concept that blends digital and traditional planning: the result is a merge of five layers (or "stratas" as they are called here) that form the skeleton of the shoes, which are lightweight yet durable due to their leather structure. It is in use an originative shoe layering compound method that retraces the known base hierarchy of function and shape in model composition. The project combines additive manufacturing 3D printed SLS mold of a "cracked earth" effect pattern, together with wet molding vesicle formsbumps, while hand sewing together nylon 12 polymer and vegetable-tanned leather.

"My work draws influence from shoes and feet in Judaism. Relaying on a spiritual yet earthly ground, the project allows me to inner examine my heritage and its values", Slassi mentioned.

La designer israeliana Hadar Slassi introduce le scarpe "Walk of Mind", un concetto di design di fabbricazione ibrida che unisce la pianificazione digitale e tradizionale: il risultato è una fusione di cinque strati (o "falde" come sono chiamati qui) che formano lo scheletro delle scarpe, che sono leggere ma resistenti grazie alla loro struttura in pelle. Si utilizza un metodo composito di stratificazione delle scarpe originativo che ripercorre la nota gerarchia di base della funzione e forma nella composizione di una modello. Il progetto combina la produzione additiva di stampi SLS stampati in 3D con un pattern effetto "terra screpolata" con le protuberanze delle vescicole stampate a umido, cucendo a mano insieme il polimero di nylon 12 e la pelle conciata al vegetale.

"Il mio lavoro trae influenza dalle scarpe e dai piedi nel giudaismo. Su basi spirituali ma terreno, il progetto mi permette di esaminare interiormente la mia eredità e i suoi valori", ha dichiarato Slassi.

THE OFF-WHITE DIRTY VARIANT, ALWAYS MADE BY NICE FOOTWEAR, EXPRESSES A STRONG AMBITION TO PROTECT THE PLANET THROUGH THE USE OF HIGHLY SUSTAINABLE COMPONENTS AND MATERIALS Fred Mello - the New York inspired Italian brand founded in 2006, which in just a few seasons established itself in the national and international market as one of the most interesting men’s brands in the luxury casual scene - continues its journey with Nice Footwear which deals with the development and creation of licensed footwear collections.

The LINCOLN sneaker, presented last season, remains the icon style of the collection and also represents an important novelty, introducing the first eco-sustainable sneaker.

The Off-white Dirty variant expresses a strong ambition to protect the planet through the use of highly sustainable components and materials while at the same time offering an uncompromising quality.

The lining is made of 100% recycled mesh, a strong, durable and reusable solution.

The upper instead involves the use of action leather and suede coming from silver, gold rated tanneries. These tanneries are selected by The Leather Working Group (LWG), an organisation committed to improving the protection of the environment in leather processing, so that every process is managed in an ethical manner.

Also for shoe tongues, laces and labels, recycled materials certified by Global Recycle Standard (GRS) are always used.

The packaging was designed to reduce the environmental impact: the packaging and hang-tags are in fact made of 100% recycled paper.

SALOMON Trail running legend Kilian Jornet partnered with the Salomon team to develop and fine-tune the fastest shoe ever. Thus was born Salomon S/LAB PULSAR, an ultra-light and extraordinarily precise shoe, used by Jornet himself to win the famous Swiss race Sierre-Zinal in 2019, where he set the still unbeaten record.

Thanks to the lightest Salomon midsole in production and the feather-like upper combined with advanced technologies, it is one of the lightest S/LAB models ever: less than 170 grams. With a sock-like fit and featuring a welded upper in breathable Matryx® mesh reinforced with aramid fibers, the shoe wraps the foot like a glove. Lightweight, responsive foam created from a mix of EVA and block olefin copolymer [OBC] offers long-lasting cushioning and energy return with effective rebound effect, while Contagrip® MA Mixed Adhesion adheres to all types of ground, wet or dry, for extraordinary control.

La leggenda del trail running Kilian Jornet ha collaborato con il team Salomon per lo sviluppo e la messa a punto della scarpa più veloce di sempre. Nasce così Salomon S/LAB PULSAR, una calzatura ultraleggera e straordinariamente precisa, utilizzata dallo stesso Jornet per aggiudicarsi la famosa gara svizzera Sierre-Zinal nel 2019, dove ha stabilito il record tuttora imbattuto.

Grazie all'intersuola Salomon più leggera in produzione e alla tomaia anch’essa dal peso “piuma” abbinata a tecnologie avanzate, è uno dei modelli S/LAB più leggeri di sempre: meno di 170 grammi. Ergo Sport, attention to foot health and style GRISPORT PRESENTS NEW SNEAKERS WITH COLOURED SOLES AND MANY TECHNICAL FEATURES THAT WANT TO TAKE CARE OF THE WEARER’S FOOT From classic models, with traditional colours, to those with fluorescent orange or light blue soles, echoed by some details on the heel of the sneaker. We cannot say that Grisport did not dare with the new men’s footwear, part of the Ergo Sport line.

If, in terms of aesthetics, Grisport has created a ‘sporty’ sneaker that adapts to different types of situations, on the other hand it certainly has not given up on the well-being and comfort of the foot. The new construction system was in fact designed to achieve comfort both during walking and in a static or standing position, for an even longer time.

The sneakers are made with an Ergoflex sole and are part of the “Ergo Sport” line, which has been designed to bring incomparable well-being to the foot, thanks to special springs that massage it while walking. The perforated leather of which the insole is made allows for ventilation. The activated carbon insole with added hygiene control is sanitising, anti-odour and gives a better control of the foot moisture.

The sole contains an insert in ultralight material that acts as a stabiliser and “shock absorber”, cushioning any type of impact. Finally, the midsole is added with micro air bubbles, while the tread is both antistatic and non-slip.

Ergo Sport, attenzione alla salute del piede e allo stile GRISPORT PRESENTA LE NUOVE SNEAKER DALLA SUOLA COLORATA CHE PRESENTANO TANTI ACCORGIMENTI TECNICI CHE VOGLIONO PRENDERSI CURA DEL PIEDE DI CHI LE INDOSSA Dai modelli classici, con colori tradizionali, a quelli con le suole arancione fluo o azzurro, che vengono riprese da alcuni dettagli presenti sul tallone della sneaker. Non si può dire che Grisport non abbia osato con le nuove calzature maschili appartenenti alla linea Ergo Sport.

Se, dal lato estetico, Grisport ha creato una sneaker ‘sporty’ che si adatta a diversi tipi di situazione, dall’altro non ha certamente rinunciato al benessere e al comfort del piede. Il nuovo sistema costruttivo è stato infatti pensato per ottenere comodità sia durante la camminata che in posizione statica o eretta, anche per lungo tempo.

La suola Ergoflex, con cui sono costruite le sneaker, appartenente alla linea “Ergo Sport”, è stata studiata per portare un incomparabile benessere del piede, grazie a speciali molle che lo massaggiano durante la camminata. La pelle forata di cui è composta la soletta permette l’aerazione. Il sottopiede, invece, è ai carboni attivi: una soluzione antiodore, igienizzante e che consente il riciclo dell’aria.

Nella suola è presente un inserto in materiale ultraleggero che funge da stabilizzatore e da “shock absorber”, attutendo qualsiasi tipo di urto. L’intersuola, infine, è addizionata di microbolle d’aria, mentre il battistrada è sia antistatico che antiscivolo.

A collection of loafers with a low environmental impact ECOALF AND MICHELIN HAVE JOINTLY DEVELOPED THEIR FIRST SOLE MADE FROM WASTE MATERIALS WHOSE RUBBER COMES FROM SOLE PRODUCTION WASTE AND NOT FROM TYRES Ecoalf was founded in 2009 with the vision to stop using natural resources in a discriminatory way in order to preserve them for future generations, to do this the mission is to create a new generation of recycled products with the same quality and design as the best non-recycled products. In the last 10 years, Ecoalf has developed more than 400 recycled fabrics, recycling more than 250 million plastic bottles, 80 tons of discarded fishing nets, used tyres, thousands of tons of Post-Industrial cotton and wool… saving more than 63 million litres of water in the recycled cotton collection. In 2015, through the Ecoalf Foundation, Ecoalf started the Upcycling the Oceans programme: a worldwide venture that helps in the removal of marine waste from the seabed and a second life through recycling.

Made from unique, environmentally friendly, ultra-lightweight materials such as knitted fabric, the ‘Ecoalf Ocean’ yarn, the new loafers are unisex and adapt well to everyday life thanks to the versatility and flexibility that has always been a feature of Ecoalf collections. As for the aesthetics of the soles, Michelin drew inspiration from the sculptural shapes of the MICHELIN Pilot Sport car tyres.

“Michelin has been working for years on the development of high-performance soles, but this is the first time the Group has produced a sole using waste materials from the mould of Ecoalf’s own soles. Incorporare i materiali di scarto per realizzare le suole ha chiaramente limitato l’utilizzo di materie prime, gli scarti, e ha migliorato l’efficienza produttiva, non solo riducendo il numero di passaggi, ma anche le emissioni di CO2 (risparmiate 14.773 tonnellate) e il consumo di acqua (384.188 litri).

Docksteps launches an important green plan THE FOOTWEAR BRAND OF THE ZEIS EXCELSA GROUP STRENGTHENS ITS SUSTAINABLE COMMITMENT BY ISSUING A GIFT VOUCHER TO EACH CUSTOMER WHO WILL BRING USED SHOES TO THE STORES, IN ORDER TO BE RECYCLED Docksteps, a brand of Zeis Excelsa, a group in the Marche region specialised in the production and distribution of footwear, launches a sustainable and ethical call to action dedicated to the final consumer.

Four selected Docksteps flagship stores will issue a gift voucher worth 15 euro for the purchase of new products to each customer who brings his old shoes to the store to be recycled. Not just a buy-back project, but also an ethical upcycling, as used shoes will be reused and transformed into floorings, then donated to public administrations.

The initiative is carried out in collaboration with Eso Sport, a benefit company aimed at protecting the environment through recycling actions economy, to minimise the accumulation of waste in landfills and increase the belief in Docksteps consumers that it is possible not only to recycle, but also to obtain secondary raw materials from the recycling cycle, which can be used for new ethical initiatives in the area.

After the two pilot stores in Lecce and Mantua, in Italy, the project will progressively be extended to the entire network of Docksteps stores, in line with the brand’s increasingly eco-friendly path.

“In the philosophy of Docksteps there is an ever greater 360 degrees attention towards the environment and this call to action is a concrete example. Here is how their concept develops and what types of footwear are proposed.

Tre storie che declinano la ricerca nel design, materiali e forme con grandissima creatività, l'affermazione di nuovi valori improntati alla sostenibilità ambientale ed etica, ma anche l'artigianalità, valore aggiunto del made in Italy.

Ecco come si sviluppano i loro concept e in quali tipologie di calzature si declinano.

LESS IS MORE Consuming less, but better: this is what increasingly aware consumers are demanding from the market. A request that translates into long-lasting products that go beyond the concept of seasonality and are designed with sustainable solutions testifying to a new Conscious Clarity in line with the statement of the “Limitarism” current, which promotes the redistribution of rights and wealth amongst peoples. In the world of women’s shoes, this value becomes a guide to the future of design and finds its best expression in three iconic models: the architectural slingback, the ballerina with laces and the sneaker that looks to the life cycle.

For men, Classic, timeless shapes are revisited using simple materials with a retro throwback. The modular shoe, the refined mule, the retro ankle boot represent the cult models. For both, the trend will be towards a quilted effect and silhouettes reconstructed like architecture.

Nel mondo della calzatura femminile, questo concept diventa una guida verso il futuro del design e trova la sua espressione più felice in tre modelli iconici: la slingback architettonica, la ballerina con lacci e la sneaker che guarda al ciclo vita. Per l'uomo, forme classiche e senza tempo vengono rielaborate e aggiornate con materiali semplici, con qualche incursione retrò. I modelli cult sono la scarpa modulare, la mule raffinata, l'ankle boot retrò. Per entrambi, silhouette ricostruite come architetture e effetti trapuntati saranno il must.

EXORCISING FEARS The present climate of uncertainty has led us to seek refuge from reality and everyday life in alternative, horror subculture type scenarios that are increasingly reflected in styles. It is the desire for Phantasmagoria, with the aim of exorcising our present-day fears, relaying on an aesthetic that seeks dramatic effects, even extreme ones. In the world of women’s footwear, details and colours combine to create dramatic effects resulting in a product mix that is seductive and disturbing at the same time. References to all that is mystical also lead to “otherworldly” embellishments.

The extreme pump, the neo Victorian lace-up boot, the square-toe Mary Jane are among the reference models. In men’s shoes the tendency is towards a baroque style that is never banal, expressed in the form of luxurious materials and precious detailing that hark back to the past. “Old meets new” creating a dramatic effect suitable for dressy or grand occasions. The baroque tuxedo slipper, the formal hybrid shoe, the road biker boot represent the top models.

ESORCIZZARE LE PAURE L'incertezza dei tempi spinge i consumatori a fuggire dal reale e dal quotidiano alla ricerca di scenari alternativi, diffondendo sempre più stili che si ispirano alla sottocultura horror. EVERYHONE IS THE AUTHOR OF HIS OWN MYTH Warriors and Amazons, all protagonists of their own battles and of myths that are rooted in the past and continue to the present day. Natural and responsibly sourced materials, together with the colours of autumn, are at the centre of the New Mythologies trend: the power of antiquity influences design, reconstructs myths and legends of the past in a new era, just as designers look back in order to project themselves forward. Antique and worn-looking metals will be fundamental for this trend, just like emphasising the origin, tradition and craftsmanship of products and the work with glocal artisans to create memorable objects.

For women this translates into “fluffy” slippers with soft furry effects, reworked sneakers, soft-legged boots. For him, into artisan moccasins, city-mountain boots, chelsea boots with rubber soles.

AUTORI DEL PROPRIO MITO Guerrieri e amazzoni, protagonisti di nuove battaglie e di un racconto mitologico che trae ispirazione dal passato per continuare nel presente. I materiali naturali e di provenienza responsabile sono al centro delle New Mythologies, assieme ai colori dell'autunno: il sapere antico influenza il design, ricodificando miti e leggende del passato per introdurle nella nuova era, e i designer guardano indietro per slanciarsi in avanti. Only recycled polyester for zips RIRI COMPLETES ITS TRANSITION TOWARDS AN EXCLUSIVE USE OF RECYCLED POLYESTER FOR ZIP'S TAPES “We are proud of this step and the effect that it has on sustainability and the cultural change through which we approach the development and improvement of our products”, states Renato Usoni, Riri Group’s CEO. Riri Group, the Swiss-Italian group leader in the production of zippers and buttons, is in fact the first company in the accessories sector to complete the transition to the exclusive use of recycled polyester in zip’s tapes. An important innovation that is part of the group’s green approach which identifies innovation for the future as one of the pillars of the corporate strategy, together with the commitment to protect natural resources.

Riri’s tagline “excellence in details” becomes “sustainability in details”: which stands for the will to operate in a company that puts sustainability first.

By employing recycled polyester as production standard for the zip range, the contribution to sustainability on a quantitative level will be significant: The company, in fact, will reduce emissions resulting from polyester purchase by 32%; thus, carbon footprint will be cut down by 3%, for zip production. As a result, 460,000 kg of CO2 per year is saved, the same as 169 return flights from Geneve to New York.

All the recycled polyester, GRS certified (Global Recycled Standard), is made from recycled polyester fibres, both pre- (20%) and post-consumer (80%).

An important contribution is made to the goal of increasing the global use of recycled polyester, as stated by Textile Exchange, from 14% to 20% by 2030.

A bit of history: Riri has introduced its first recycled polyester tape in 2013 and since then it has been consistently increasing the use of it paying attention to develop products that respect the environment, but which at the same time preserve functionality, reliability and that unique aesthetic touch required by the fashion world.

Riri Group, il gruppo italo-svizzero leader nella produzione di cerniere e bottoni, è infatti la prima azienda nel settore accessori a completare la transizione verso l'uso esclusivo di poliestere riciclato nei nastri delle zip. Una importante novità che si inserisce nell’approccio green del gruppo il quale individua nell'innovazione per il futuro uno dei pilastri della strategia corporate, insieme all’impegno nel proteggere le risorse naturali.

Il claim di Riri “excellence in details” si declina così in “sustainability in details”: ossia nella volontà di agire in azienda tenendo in prima considerazione i paradigmi della sostenibilità.

Grazie all’adozione del poliestere riciclato come standard produttivo della gamma zip, il contributo anche quantitativo alla sostenibilità sarà ingente: si ridurranno del 32% le emissioni provenienti dall’acquisto di poliestere e, di conseguenza, diminuiranno del 3% anche le emissioni di gas serra per la produzione di zip. Si andranno così a risparmiare ben 460 mila kg di CO2 in un anno, l’equivalente di 169 voli andata /ritorno fra Ginevra e New York.

Tutto il poliestere riciclato, certificato GRS (Global Recycled Standard), viene realizzato con fibre provenienti da materiali post-consumo (80%) e pre-consumo (20%). Un importante contributo all’obiettivo di incremento dell’uso del poliestere riciclato a livello mondiale, definito dall’organizzazione Textile Exchange, che chiede si passi entro il 2030 dal 14% al 20%.

Un po’ di storia: Riri ha introdotto il primo nastro di poliestere riciclato nel 2013 e da allora ne ha costantemente incrementato l’utilizzo facendo attenzione a sviluppare prodotti rispettosi dell’ambiente, ma che allo stesso tempo preservassero funzionalità, affidabilità e quel tocco estetico unico richiesto dal mondo fashion.

JBS Couros: Kind Leather scores the best Higg index in the sector THE HIGH LEVEL OF SUSTAINABILITY OF THE BRAZILIAN LEATHER IS CONFIRMED BY THE SCORE OBTAINED FROM THE HIGG MATERIALS SUSTAINABILITY INDEX WHICH MEASURES THE MAIN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT CATEGORIES Another important confirmation for Kind Leather, the sustainable leather developed

by JBS Couros on the basis of an innovative and more efficient manufacturing process that saves resources and chemicals by reducing waste and tanning residues.

Strengthened by all these important advantages, Kind Leather has just received an important new recognition: achieving a better result for the leather sector in the Higg Materials Sustainability Index (Higg MSI) set up by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition to improve the environmental performance of the fashion supply chain.

As known, the Higg MSI is a global index that evaluates the environmental impact of the production cycle of materials used in the fashion industry such as cotton, leather, plastic, fabrics, metals and rubber. The sustainability level of each material is analysed on the basis of LCA studies that cover the entire life cycle of the product and include categories such as Global Warming Potential, Use of Water, Use of Fossil Fuels and Use of Chemical Substances. The lower the final number reached in the index, the lower the impact on the environment. To give an idea, in the Global Warming Potential category, Kind Leather scored 8 points, while the global average for leathers is 34.3, wool reaches 45.2 points while cotton stands at 8.8. As for the use of chemical products, Kind Leather reaches 12.6 against an average of 40.3 for traditional leathers.

“Kind Leather reached the best result so far in the sector, making leather deservedly be seen as a more sustainable choice for designers - declares Kim Sena, Sustainability Director of JBS Couros -. This important recognition opens up many doors and markets for us, as the major fashion brands rely on this index

to forge partnerships and select the most suitable materials for their production”.

In a time where synthetic alternatives are often preferred to leather on the basis of pure speculation, thanks to these new data “it is possible to compare the sustainability parameters of leather with those of other materials on the basis of clear technical evidence”, Sena keeps explaining.

The innovative concept behind the production of Kind Leather lies in a radical revision of the traditional manufacturing process, starting with a more efficient raw hide cutting system which - by immediately eliminating the peripheral parts of the whole hide – allows you to save resources such as water and energy but also to use fewer chemicals and produce less waste. The hides removed at the beginning of the process are then meant for other production sectors in order to be valued, from pharmaceuticals to food, thus helping to further reduce the environmental impact of the leather in a perspective of full circular economy. Kind Leather currently represents 20% of the total produced by the Brazilian giant.

“Our goal for the future is undoubtedly to reach 100%, as we strongly believe in this approach as the most sustainable solution for the planet” explains Kim Sena.

JBS Couros is the largest leather processing industry in the world, with 21 tanneries, three cutting units, five distribution centres, three showrooms and four commercial offices in four continents. The company currently has more than 7,000 employees around the world and produces wet blue, semi-finished and finished leathers for the automotive, footwear, leather goods, upholstery and artefact sectors.

Più basso è il numero finale raggiunto nell’indice, minore è l’impatto sull’ambiente. Per dare un’idea, nella categoria Potenziale di Riscaldamento Globale, Kind Leather ha ottenuto 8 punti, mentre la media globale relativa alle pelli è di 34,3, la lana raggiunge i 45,2 punti mentre il cotone si attesta a 8,8. Quanto all’impiego di prodotti chimici, Kind Leather arriva a 12,6 contro una media delle pelli tradizionali di 40,3.

“Kind Leather ottiene il miglior risultato del settore, facendo apparire la pelle come la scelta più sostenibile per i designer - dichiara Kim Sena, Direttore Sostenibilità di JBS Couros -. Questo importante riconoscimento ci apre molte porte e mercati, poiché i grandi marchi della moda si basano su questo indice per stringere collaborazioni e selezionare i materiali più idonei per la loro produzione”.

In un’epoca in cui le alternative sintetiche sono spesso preferite alla pelle sulla base di pure speculazioni, grazie a questi nuovi dati “si possono comparare i parametri di sostenibilità della pelle con quelli degli altri materiali sulla base di chiare evidenze tecniche” spiega ancora Sena.

Il concetto innovativo alla base della produzione di Kind Leather risiede in una radicale revisione del processo di lavorazione tradizionale, a partire da un più efficiente sistema di taglio della pelle grezza che – eliminando da subito le parti periferiche della pelle intera - consente di risparmiare risorse come acqua ed energia ma anche di utilizzare meno prodotti chimici e producendo meno scarti. Le parti di pelle eliminate all’inizio del processo vengono poi indirizzate e valorizzate in altri settori produttivi, dal farmaceutico all’alimentare, contribuendo così a ridurre ulteriormente l’impatto ambientale della pelle in un’ottica di piena economia circolare.

Attualmente Kind Leather rappresenta il 20% del totale prodotto dal gigante brasiliano. “Il nostro obiettivo per il futuro è senza dubbio quello di arrivare al 100%, poiché crediamo fortemente in questo approccio come la soluzione più sostenibile per il pianeta” spiega Kim Sena. JBS Couros è la più grande industria di lavorazione della pelle al mondo, forte di 21 concerie, tre unità di taglio, cinque centri di distribuzione, tre showroom e quattro uffici commerciali in quattro continenti.

Special antibacterial treatments can also be found in linings. Sanyhygienical and Rete Wolf are two technical materials made of polyamide and polyester respectively.

New products include Green Felt, a felt made from PLA – polylactic acid derived from plant sugars, thermoformable, ideal for making insoles or linings for shoes. With a low environmental impact, the material is made from a renewable raw material, it is durable and elastic and has a high absorption capacity.

Nature Bio rubber, made of polyurethane foam and a part of material derived from soya, is also a good compromise for creating the structure of the shoe, with great attention paid to the environment. It can also be made adhesive by means of a paper or polyester film to facilitate footwear production.

Attention to the environment and recycled materials has led Siretessile to start the procedure to obtain the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification, the international recognition for those who make garments and textile products with recycled materials.

Accanto a queste particolari proposte, la ricerca di materiali si è focalizzata anche su alternative green, ecologiche o realizzate con materiali di riciclo.

Tra le novità spiccano Green Felt, un feltro realizzato in PLA - acido polilattico derivato dagli zuccheri delle piante, termoformabile, ideale per realizzare sottopiedi o fodere per calzatura. Dal basso impatto ambientale, il materiale è realizzato con una materia prima rinnovabile, è resistente ed elastico, e presenta alte capacità di assorbimento.

SANYHYGIENICAL

Anche la gomma Nature Bio, realizzata con poliuretano espanso e una parte di materiale derivato dalla soia, rappresenta un buon compromesso per realizzare la struttura della scarpa riservando grande attenzione all’ambiente. Può, inoltre, essere reso adesivo grazie a un film in carta o in poliestere per agevolare la realizzazione delle calzature.

L’interesse per l’ambiente e i materiali di riciclo ha condotto Siretessile ad avviare le procedure per ottenere la certificazione GRS - Global Recyled Standard, il riconoscimento internazionale per chi realizza indumenti e prodotti tessili con materiali di riciclo.

Augmented Reality and its derivatives. What are they?

Augmented Reality can be thought of as an extension of the user s environment, which is enriched in real time with superimposed digital models and information, such as text, graphics and multimedia content. The goal of this technology is to improve the physical world with contextual, meaningful and relevant information. Its antithesis is represented by Virtual Reality, which is a technology that radically changes the way the world is perceived, as it immerses people in a totally artificial environment, imagined and generated by the computer. The elements are separated from reality and transformed into virtual ones, maintaining the possibility of interacting with objects and places perceived through the five senses. Between the two lies Mixed Reality, which integrates digital models into the physical world, allowing users to interact with them and, at the same time, to remain aware of the real surrounding environment.

The main differences between these three technologies are reflected in the devices used and, consequently, in the type of functionality made available and the area where these functions can be reduced.

Augmented Reality in Industry 4.0 Very often, field technicians have to cope with situations where the problem is unknown and this scenario forces the company they work for to send a more experienced colleague to the site. A procedure of this type is, however, costly in terms of time and therefore inefficient. Likewise, the same maintenance and repair interventions represent one of the most significant critical issues for companies.

This is where this technology comes into play, helping to perform maintenance activities, virtual collaborations, remote presentations and training of machinery.

Augmented Reality is in fact able to compensate for the skills gap and reduce staff errors, ensure rapid and effective know-how sharing, increase the percentage of first-time resolutions and provide more accurate diagnoses. Furthermore, by exploiting the integration with Artificial Intelligence, the user has all the necessary tools at his disposal to automatically capture the experience he is living, which is then processed by powerful algorithms and distributed within the organisation.

Technological asset tagging, photo and video indexing, real time translation, creation of operational workflows, are just some of the possibilities offered by the integration of Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence, which contribute to creating a shared and reusable knowledge base, everything in a completely automatic way. This ensures that, with each technical intervention, the

application suggests to the user, autonomously and proactively, the possible solutions deriving from the learning of previous activities.

With technological advancement, also the complexity of machinery has increased and, consequently, support operations require the intervention of increasingly specialised resources. Expert maintenance technicians, however, are in short supply and often forced to move from one end of the world to the other to respond to the most complex intervention requests, thus prolonging machinery downtime and increasing costs for companies. It this context the training of remote resources on new processes or complex activities takes over. These functions are particularly useful in case of situations that are too complicated or expensive to recreate in reality.

The available information can also be integrated with that of IoT connected devices (which allow users to view the most appropriate data to directly evaluate the correct functioning of an asset), or used in combination with BIM (Building Information Modeling) to evaluate the impact of installing a system in advance, even before its construction. In addition, the digital twin of an asset can be manipulated in real time and accompanied by additional information, anchoring annotations shared by remote users with the necessary skills to support the execution of activities in the field. These capabilities extend skills and allow you to complete maintenance and service tasks more quickly and efficiently.

Finally, we should not forget how the current global emergency situation and the related restrictions that have resulted from it have represented a perfect springboard for all areas related to remote collaboration and the demon-

Le principali differenze tra queste tre tecnologie si concretizzano nei dispositivi utilizzati e, di conseguenza, nel tipo di funzionalità messe a disposizione e dell’ambito in cui tali funzionalità possono essere calate.

La Realtà Aumentata nel contesto Industria 4.0 Molto spesso, i tecnici sul campo si trovano a far fronte a situazioni in cui devono confrontarsi con un problema sconosciuto e questo scenario costringe l’azienda per cui lavorano a inviare sul luogo un collega più esperto. Una procedura di questo tipo risulta, però, dispendiosa in termini di tempo e costi e pertanto inefficiente. Allo stesso modo, gli stessi interventi di manutenzione e riparazione rappresentano una delle criticità più rilevanti per le aziende. È qui che entra in gioco questa tecnologia, che aiuta a eseguire attività manutentive, collaborazione virtuale, formazione e presentazione di macchinari a distanza.

La Realtà Aumentata, infatti, è in grado di compensare il gap di competenze e ridurre gli errori del personale, garantire una condivisione rapida ed efficace del know-how, aumentare la percentuale di risoluzioni al primo tentativo e fornire diagnosi più accurate. È in questo filone che subentra la formazione delle risorse a distanza su nuovi processi o attività complesse. Tali funzioni sono particolarmente utili in caso di situazioni troppo complicate o costose da ricreare nella realtà.

Le informazioni a disposizione possono essere integrate anche con quelle provenienti da dispositivi connessi IoT (che consentono agli utenti di visualizzare i dati più appropriati per valutare in diretta il corretto funzionamento di un asset), o usate in combinazione con il BIM (Building Information Modeling) per valutare preventivamente l’impatto dell’installazione di un impianto ancora prima della sua realizzazione. Non bisogna, infine, tralasciare come l’attuale situazione di emergenza globale e le relative restrizioni che ne sono derivate, abbiano rappresentato un perfetto trampolino di lancio per tutti i filoni legati alla collaborazione remota e alla dimostrazione di macchinari e relative funzionalità a distanza.

Ma che cosa è un sistema RFID? È un sistema in grado di identificare univocamente gli oggetti tramite tag a radio-frequenze (RFID).

Acronimo inglese di Radio Frequency Identification, la tecnologia RFID di identificazione automatica è basata sulla propagazione nell'aria di onde elettro-magnetiche, consentendo la rilevazione automatica (hand free), massiva e a distanza di oggetti sia statici che in movimento.

DESMA celebrates 75 years IN 2021 DESMA CELEBRATES 75 YEARS OF ACTIVITY, A RESULT THAT FILLS THE GERMAN COMPANY WITH PRIDE. BELOW WE RETRACE THEIR FOOTSTEPS In the 1950s, Deutsche Spezialmaschinen Co. U.E. (abbreviated to DESMA), which was founded by Herbert Ludwig in June 1946, developed a vulcanizing press that was to revolutionise shoe production: it joined sole and upper in just a few minutes and thus paved the way for the pioneering process of direct soling.

DESMA continued to optimise that process over the decades that followed. What began with manually operated machines is now performed by complex, highly automated rotary tables with up to 36 different work stations. The success can be expressed in figures: every tenth pair of the 24 billion pairs of shoes that are sold worldwide every year is produced via direct soling process.

During the 1980s, DESMA introduced robots to assist the production processes.

Machine and robot were integrated into a network long before anyone had even begun to think about Industry 4.0. These days, DESMA has “upgraded” more than 1500 robots with software and tools to meet the demands of the footwear manufacturing industry.

Numerous customers now entrust their production to DESMA automation solutions.

A key role is played by the amir system, i.e. Automated Material supply with Integrated Robots. In addition to automation, they have also come up with innovative solutions in response to the megatrend of customisation. New injection techniques and their own mouldmaking shop enable them to offer a wide range of designs and colours, combinations of highly diverse materials as well as different degrees of hardness and shock absorption.

Unfortunately, Desma will not be able to celebrate our 75th anniversary as they had imagined before the pandemic. However, they are planning to do so before the end of this year.

DI SEGUITO NE RIPERCORRIAMO LE ORME Negli anni '50, la Deutsche Spezialmaschinen Co. U.E. Ad oggi, DESMA ha "aggiornato" più di 1500 robot con software e strumenti in grado di soddisfare le esigenze dell'industria calzaturiera.

Ad oggi sono numerosi i clienti che affidano la loro produzione alle soluzioni di automazione proposte da DESMA. In tal senso un ruolo chiave è svolto dal sistema Amir, capace di offrire una produzione automatizzata con robot integrati. Oltre all'automazione, Desma ha anche escogitato soluzioni innovative in risposta al grande trend della personalizzazione. Le nuove tecniche di iniezione e il laboratorio di stampaggio dell’azienda tedesca consentono di offrire una vasta gamma di design e colori, combinazioni di materiali molto diversi, nonché diversi gradi di durezza e assorbimento degli urti.

Sfortunatamente, Desma non potrà celebrare il suo 75° anniversario come aveva immaginato prima della pandemia. Tuttavia, sono ben decisi a farlo e sperano di riuscirci entro quest'anno.

Main Group Technologies: new Energy Saving technology THE BRAND, BENCHMARK FOR INJECTION MOULDING MACHINERY INTENDED FOR FOOTWEAR PRODUCTIONS, PRESENTS A NEW SOPHISTICATED TECHNOLOGY FOR ROTARY INJECTION MACHINES ABLE TO ENSURE SIGNIFICANT ENERGY, AS WELL AS ECONOMIC SAVINGS. In line with the needs of society to develop forms of sustainable production and environmental protection, Main Group Technologies has developed a new sophisticated technology applied to the DELT-UP line – rotary machines able to inject boots with up to three colour in thermoplastic materials – and ensure significant energy savings. Infact, the integration of special stand-alone pumps, controlled by brushless motors, has increased the efficiency of the whole production process, reducing the energy consumption for the production of tricoloured boots by 30% and decreasing the noise by 70%. Moreover, the power of the refrigerator used to cool the oil in the hydraulic unit has been reducted by 80% and the oil life cycle has been tripled, with the possibility of replacing it every 30,000 hours instead of the previous 10,000 hours. A few months have passed since the last interview with Fulvia Bacchi, Lineapelle’s CEO, and unfortunately the critical situation related to the pandemic has not yet been resolved. The crisis worsens and the sector also had to do without its most important trade fairs. Let’s sum up the situation.

What is all the time spent to put in place new initiatives (including The 365 Showroom) teaching you for the future? What can we expect from the next Lineapelle (we all hope to be able to attend it physically)?

“All the initiatives launched by LINEAPELLE over the past year had a single objective: maintaining relations with our reference community. The numbers of contacts established were excellent, but let’s not hide the fact that this ‘digitisation’ is an opportunity, with many critical aspects. The key role of the fair is to see and be seen and this is missing. We are told that, after this pandemic, everything will change and it will take years for a return to an almost normal life. In fact, it is very difficult to plan our future. We move with great caution, day after day, in the knowledge that we will have to be ready to change course all of a sudden. Should the Government in September authorise the conduct of fairs, we will have a LINEAPELLE edition with the same formula as last year, with pre-fitted stands, but always enriched with important creative contents. LINEAPELLE has certainly established itself for its high level of internationalisation and today this is a factor far from being achieved”.

As fairs you have asked the Government for more clarity. Are there any other concerns that the state should have for the sector?

“This is strange to say because politicians, of any party, have often and willingly attended trade fairs, but they seem to ignore what they really represent in the economy of companies and in their process of internationalisation and in the country’s economy. Fairs continue to be assimilated to festivals. The trade fair system is among the most penalised by the pandemic, data are terrible, the turnover is close to -80%. Financial aids managed by Simest have minimally compensated for the losses, but the knot to be solved remains: the recognition of their strategic role. It is possible to organise a fair in safety, our locations allow it and we organisers can take all the necessary safety measures”.

What are the next UNIC initiatives to present?

“As an association, in addition to all our own assistance activities, we continue to promote ‘Made in Italy leather’, an excellence to be defended tooth and nail.

Too many misleading communications are trying to ‘demonise’ it, promoting alternative materials of various and not always clear sources.

Circularity and sustainability are terms that have always belonged to us and we bore all the related costs, even before they became marketing tools, business opportunities for foundations and laboratories.

Il ruolo strategico di Lineapelle FULVIA BACCHI, DIRETTORE DI UNIC E AMMINISTRATORE DELEGATO DI LINEAPELLE, SOTTOLINEA L’IMPORTANZA DEI MOMENTI FIERISTICI IN PRESENZA, ANCORA TROPPO POCO RICONOSCIUTI DAL GOVERNO, E DELLA LOTTA PER DIFENDERE LA PELLE DA ATTACCHI INDEBITI E SCORRETTI. Sono passati pochi mesi dall’ultima intervista con Fulvia Bacchi, CEO di Lineapelle, e purtroppo la situazione critica legata alla pandemia ancora non si è risolta. La crisi si aggrava e il comparto ha anche dovuto rinunciare alle sue manifestazioni fieristiche più importanti. Facciamo il punto.

Tutto questo periodo e le nuove iniziative che avete dovuto mettere in campo (tra cui 365 Showroom) cosa vi stanno insegnando per il futuro?

Cosa possiamo aspettarci dalla prossima Lineapelle (a cui tutti speriamo di partecipare in presenza)?

“Tutte le iniziative avviate da LINEAPELLE da un anno a questa parte hanno avuto un unico obiettivo: quello di mantenere i rapporti con la nostra “COMMUNITY” di riferimento. I numeri dei contatti stabiliti sono stati ottimi, ma non nascondiamoci che questa “digitalizzazione” è un’opportunità, con molti aspetti critici. La funzione fondamentale della fiera è quella di vedere ed essere visti e questo manca. Ci sentiamo ripetere che, dopo questa pandemia, tutto cambierà e ci vorranno anni per un ritorno ad una quasi normalità. In realtà, è davvero difficile progettare il nostro futuro. Ci si muove con molta cautela, giorno dopo giorno, nella consapevolezza che dovremo essere pronti a cambiare improvvisamente rotta.

Se a settembre il Governo autorizzerà lo svolgimento delle fiere, avremo una LINEAPELLE con la stessa formula dello scorso anno, con stand pre-allestiti, ma comunque sempre arricchita con contenuti creativi importanti. Certamente LINEAPELLE si è imposta per il suo alto livello di internazionalizzazione e oggi questo è un fattore lontano dal poter essere realizzato”.

Come fiere avete chiesto al Governo più chiarezza. Ci sono altre attenzioni che lo Stato dovrebbe avere per il settore? “È strano a dirsi perché i politici, di qualsiasi partito, hanno spesso e volentieri presenziato alle manifestazioni fieristiche, ma sembra che ignorino cosa davvero esse rappresentino nell’economia delle aziende e nel loro processo di internazionalizzazione e nell’economia del Paese.

Si continua ad assimilare le fiere alle sagre. Il sistema fieristico è tra i più penalizzati dalla pandemia, i dati sono terribili, si sfiora il -80% di fatturato. I ristori gestiti da Simest hanno compensato in minima parte le perdite, ma il nodo da sciogliere resta: il riconoscimento del loro ruolo strategico. Organizzare una fiera in sicurezza si può, i nostri quartieri lo permettono e noi organizzatori possiamo attivare tutte le misure di sicurezza necessarie”.

Quali le prossime iniziative di UNIC da presentare?

“Come associazione, oltre a tutte le attività di assistenza che le sono proprie, continuiamo nella promozione della “pelle made in Italy”, un’eccellenza da difendere con le unghie e con i denti. Troppe comunicazioni fuorvianti stanno cercando di ‘demonizzarla’, promuovendo materiali alternativi di varia e non sempre chiara provenienza.

Circolarità e sostenibilità sono termini che ci appartengono da sempre e ce ne siamo accollati tutti i costi, prima ancora che diventassero strumenti di marketing, occasione di business per fondazioni e laboratori. Tutti sembrano praticarle, tutti ne parlano come un dovere, ma è la filiera a monte quella che se ne fa davvero carico, con una riduzione dei suoi margini, sempre più deboli”.

2021, another disappointing year WITH FABRIZIO NUTI, PRESIDENT OF UNIC AND OWNER OF THE TUSCAN TANNING GROUP NUTI IVO, WE ANALYSE THE NOT VERY REASSURING DATA OF THIS YEAR'S BEGINNING, TRYING TO UNDERSTAND HOW THE MARKET IS MOVING. It is undeniable that the hopes of recovery are still far from being realised, so how do entrepreneurs move, how do they keep business alive. It is not easy to understand in such a moment of uncertainty.

We try to analyse the situation with UNIC’s president Fabrizio Nuti.

Are there any data updates concerning the sector’s health?

“The end of 2020 had opened some glimmers of hope, but these first months of 2021 have once again brought the leather trend back to an opaque and even more complicated horizon. 2020 data show for the Italian tannery a 26% decline in turnover and 27% in exports. In addition to having to deal with very weak demand, unlike last year, we now also have a commodity whose FABRIZIO NUTI, UNIC PRESIDENT prices have risen almost unreason- FABRIZIO NUTI, PRESIDENTE UNIC ably. What are your feelings about the brands and the various recovering markets?

Do they provide any indication about future developments?

“It is difficult to make plans and the various brands move differently. The uneven timing of the spread of infections and vaccinations leaves uncertainty on the market. Brands closely tied to physical networks and direct experience have slowed down, while those related to e-commerce have seen an increase.

What has emerged from the pandemic is an acceleration of the process of changing demand. There is more attention to economically and socially sustainable products and that are enhanced by a more artisanal approach”.

As an entrepreneur, what do you believe are the things to be implemented, both as a company and as an Association?

“As an entrepreneur, I think that we must put ourselves in a position to continue investing, without draining liquidity, to increase the added value of our products and be increasingly competitive.

It is also important to defend employment and ensure that our companies have a future.

To do this, the tools needed must be certain and, among these tax credit, being automatic, is the most effective, but it needs precise rules.

As for the Association: I strongly believe in associations and in times like these it is the association that must take charge of transferring our needs to the Government”.

È innegabile che le speranze di ripresa siano ancora lontane dal realizzarsi, e allora come si muovono gli imprenditori, quali i tentativi di mantenere vivi gli affari. Non facile comprenderlo in un tale momento di incertezza. Si tenta un’analisi con il presidente di UNIC, Fabrizio Nuti.

Vi sono degli aggiornamenti sui dati che riguardano la salute del settore?

“La fine del 2020 aveva aperto alcuni spiragli di speranza, ma questi primi mesi del 2021 hanno riportato la congiuntura della pelle davanti a un orizzonte nuovamente opaco e ancora più complicato.

I dati del 2020 segnano per la conceria italiana un calo del fatturato del 26% e dell’export del 27%. Oltre a dover fare i conti con una domanda molto debole, a differenza dello scorso anno, ora abbiamo anche una materia prima i cui prezzi sono aumentati in modo pressoché irragionevole. Aumenti che a volte raggiungono anche la doppia cifra. La pressione si è fatta enorme e il calo delle macellazioni non giustifica questi rialzi, che rischiano di inibire qualsiasi potenziale ipotesi di ripartenza.

Sono aumentati anche i prezzi dei prodotti chimici; le giustificazioni sono diverse, ma resta il fatto che la clientela non accetta nessun adeguamento. La corsa all’accaparramento ha innescato la speculazione e il nostro settore ne è penalizzato. Per quanto riguarda le destinazioni, certamente la Moda soffre terribilmente rispetto ad Arredo e Auto che sembrano tenere con minori difficoltà”.

Che sensazioni avete riguardo le griffe e i vari mercati in ripresa? Qualche indicazione rispetto ai prossimi sviluppi? “È difficile fare programmi e le varie griffe si muovono in maniera diversa. I tempi disomogenei della diffusione dei contagi e delle vaccinazioni, lasciano incertezza sul mercato. I brand molto legati alle reti fisiche e all’esperienza diretta hanno rallentato, mentre quelle legate all’e-commerce hanno avuto un rialzo.

Quello che è emerso dalla pandemia è un’accelerazione del processo di cambiamento della domanda. C’è più attenzione a prodotti economicamente e socialmente sostenibili e valorizzati da un approccio più artigianale”.

Da imprenditore, quali mosse ritiene fondamentale mettere in campo, sia come azienda che come Associazione?

“Come imprenditore credo che ci si debba mettere nelle condizioni di continuare, senza drenare liquidità, ad investire, per aumentare il valore aggiunto dei nostri prodotti ed essere sempre più competitivi. È importante anche per difendere l’occupazione e garantire un futuro alle nostre aziende. Per fare questo servono strumenti certi, tra questi, essendo automatico, il credito di imposta è quello che ha più efficacia, ma su cui occorre che ci siano norme precise.

Per quanto riguarda l’Associazione: io credo molto nell’associazionismo e in momenti come questi è l’associazione che deve farsi carico di trasferire le nostre esigenze al Governo”.

UNIC invokes the responsibility of the supply chain THE ASSOCIATION OF ITALIAN TANNERS COMPLAINS ABOUT THE STRONG INCREASES IN RAW HIDES AND CHEMICAL PRODUCTS Tanneries denounce a strong concern over the increase in prices suffered by raw materials in a phase of poor market stability caused by the pandemic.As concerns raw hides, price lists have entered a pressure stage. Average increases are around 13% but in certain types like bullcalf leather they reach +35%. According to the association of tanners, these price increases are unjustified.

“Prices have risen in an almost irrational way in the face of tanneries with blocked work and customers who have substantially decreased demand”, says UNIC, the association that brings together Italian tanneries. The cost pressure also affects suppliers of chemical products, as already announced by UNPAC, the National Union of Italian Auxiliary Producers. Several suppliers of chemical-tanning products have announced an increase on all types of products from 1 April 2021, with increases between 5 and 40% and average peaks of 15%. The phenomenon derives from the growing cost of raw materials also in the chemical sector, as well as from shipping costs due to the limited availability of containers. Also the recent seven-day traffic stop in the Suez Canal, a key trade route for global business weighed on the difficulties of the sector. Asking suppliers to share a necessary supply chain responsibility, UNIC also warned that further price increases could generate “a tension that risks turning out to be a boomerang for the entire supply chain”.

Sul fronte delle pelli grezze, i listini sono entrati in una fase di pressione.

Gli aumenti medi sono del 13% ma su alcune tipologie come il toro arrivano a +35%. Secondo l’associazione dei conciatori si tratta di rincari immotivati. “I prezzi sono aumentati in modo irragionevole a fronte di concerie con lavoro bloccato e clienti che hanno diminuito in modo sostanziale la domanda” sostiene UNIC. La pressione sui costi riguarda anche i fornitori di prodotti chimici, come del resto già annunciato da UNPAC, l’associazione italiana dei produttori di ausiliari chimici. Diversi fornitori di prodotti chimico-conciari hanno annunciato un aumento su tutte le tipologie di prodotto dal 1° aprile 2021, con incrementi tra il 5 e il 40% e picchi medi del 15%. Il fenomeno sarebbe da imputare al crescente costo delle materie prime anche nel settore dei chimici, oltre che dei costi di spedizione per la scarsa disponibilità di container. Anche il recente blocco del traffico di sette giorni nel Canale di Suez, rotta commerciale chiave per gli affari a livello mondiale, ha pesato sulle difficoltà del settore. Chiedendo ai fornitori di condividere una necessaria responsabilità di filiera, UNIC ha anche messo in guardia sul fatto che ulteriori aumenti dei prezzi potrebbero generare “una tensione che rischia di rivelarsi un boomerang per l’intera catena di approvvigionamento”.

“Fix the Future”: summer 2022 for Lineapelle FOR THE SS22 SEASON, LINEAPELLE’S CREATIVE MESSAGE IS AN INVITATION TO TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES AND THE PLANET, WELCOMING A CHANGE THAT WILL REVOLVE AROUND TWO INSPIRATIONAL COLOURS ‘Fix the Future’ is the claim under which Lineapelle has collected its creative and stylistic suggestions for summer 2022, an invitation to put our future in order as much as possible. As Antonella Bertagnin, coordinator of the Lineapelle Fashion Committee explains, it is a matter of being aware that we are facing a new scenario in which two perspectives intertwine, whose “symbiosis is becoming the inspiration for a different tomorrow”. In this context “green identifies an eco-friendly, circular society based on sharing. But it is also the signal of an epoch-making change looking to sustainability,” continues Bertagnin.

“Green becomes synonymous with openness and attention to the other, where the other is not only the human being, but also his participation in inhabiting the planet.” Then there is blue, or in other words, “innovation, as blue is the colour of a mature society, of digital services and open source information.

Blue is a phygital world where the digital environment is not only a way of communicating.” “The synthesis of these activities fosters a way of living together centred on the quality of relationships and of processes, instead of on consumption and on things. These are dimensions that co-exist, becoming one with the flavour of the future.

Lineapelle’s choice of green and blue as colour references for summer 2022 does not represent a real indication of product development, but carries with it a broader suggestion. In other words, “this choice - says Bertagnin - has been inspired by the book ‘The Green and the Blue: Naïve Ideas to Improve Politics” written by the philosopher Luciano Floridi. In the book, the two colours are “the cornerstones of change in the 21st century. They are meta-colours that become concepts, flashes of contemporary society to be inhabited physically and culturally. They represent a naïve idea, but in a positive sense. In fact, the word ‘naïve’ also carries with it the meaning of simple, free, native.” The symbiosis of these two new directions becomes the inspiration for a different tomorrow. A future to be cared for based on “the quality of relationships and processes, rather than consumption and things. These dimensions co-exist, intersect and become an essential tool for life”.

Step 1: Re-define the Basics At the heart of it all is the naturalness of imperfect textures and extreme customisation, also thanks to soft and enveloping puffy effects. Soft materials that are pleasant to the touch, through macro and micro grains, creamy finishes for solid colours, graphic effects for prints. As for exotic leather, there is a noticeable presence of small grains, even buffed. The new minimalism is also expressed in crusty nappa leather, crushed, vegetable dyes. Lots of large accessories like zips, studs and chains, but in ultra-light materials.

Step 2: Re-Normal Textiles and leather become smart working-proof. Puffy surfaces with 3D effects, with an abundance of couplings, micro-holes and punching. The materials are sensitive to the touch, with writing-effect suede, talc effects and sanded nubuck. Textiles feature linen, hemp and above all denim, mainly delavé but generally in all shades. There is no shortage of references to processes such as tie and dye, batik, clouding effect, sponging, ton-sur-ton, in an imaginative evolution of camouflage. The leather takes on a used effect and features buffing and removals.

Step 3: Re-think the Decor A strong trend is metallic, with new iridescent and shimmering effects, as well as plotter laminations. The possibility of achieving unprecedented effects in a hot stamping process is where creativity, technique and innovation meet. The imperfection of the handmade is thus combined with industrial production in an euphoric union full of interesting ideas, both for leather and accessories.

Cutting-edge technologies make it possible to create articles with character, always new and customised.

Step 4: Re-Write the Future The digital/phygital world inspires fashion. Technology gives us new hybrid high-performance materials such as siliconized processing and PFC-free water-repellent membranes. Even accessories and small parts become perfect for the outdoors with the use of composite materials or mixes such as methacrylate mixed with metal. The new frontier of the science of materials enables biological products and materials to be obtained from very specific raw materials such as molecules, cells or extracellular matrices, and goes far beyond the materials we have always known, derived from animals or plants such as natural textile fibres, leather and hides, wood or paper.

‘Fix the Future’ è il motto sotto cui Lineapelle ha raccolto le sue suggestioni creative e stilistiche per l’estate 2022, un invito a rimettere il più possibile in ordine il nostro futuro. Come spiega Antonella Bertagnin, coordinatrice del Comitato Moda Lineapelle, si tratta di essere consapevoli che ci troviamo davanti a un nuovo scenario nel quale si intrecciano due prospettive la cui “simbiosi sta diventando l’ispirazione per un domani diverso”. Ecco, allora, che “il verde identifica una società green, circolare, basata sulla condivisione. Ma è, anche, la bandiera di un cambiamento epocale che guarda alla sostenibilità – continua Bertagnin - Verde diventa sinonimo di apertura ed attenzione verso l’altro, dove l’altro non è solo l’essere umano, ma la sua partecipazione all’abitare il pianeta”. Poi, c’è il blu. In altre parole, “innovazione, il blu è il colore di una società matura, dell’informazione digitale e open source. Blu è un mondo phygital nel quale il contesto digitale non è solo un modo di comunicare”. “La sintesi di queste attività favorisce un modo di vivere insieme centrato sulla qualità delle relazioni e dei processi, anziché sul consumo e sulle cose”. La scelta di Lineapelle di segnalare il verde e il blu come riferimenti cromatici per l’estate 2022 non rappresenta una vera e propria indicazione di sviluppo per il prodotto, ma porta con sé una suggestione più ampia. In altre parole, questa scelta – racconta Bertagnin – è ispirata al testo 'Il Verde e il Blu – Idee Ingenue per Migliorare la Politica' scritto dal filosofo Luciano Floridi. Nel libro, i due colori sono "i punti cardine dei cambiamenti del XXI secolo. Sono meta-colori che diventano concetti, sprazzi della società contemporanea da abitare fisicamente e culturalmente. Rappresentano un’idea ingenua, ma in senso positivo. Infatti, la parola 'ingenua' porta con sé anche il significato di semplice, libero, nativo". La simbiosi di queste due nuove direzioni diventa l’ispirazione per un domani diverso. Un futuro da curare basandosi "sulla qualità delle relazioni e dei processi, anziché sui consumi e sulle cose. Queste dimensioni convivono, si intersecano e diventano uno strumento essenziale per la vita".

Step 1: Re-define the Basics Al centro, la naturalità di trame non perfette e la personalizzazione estrema, anche grazie a morbidi e avvolgenti effetti gonfi. I materiali soffici danno piacere al tatto, tramite grane macro e micro, finiture cremose per le tinte unite, effetti grafici per le stampe. Per quanto riguarda i pellami esotici, si nota la presenza di grana di piccole dimensioni, anche smerigliata. Il nuovo minimalismo si esprime anche in nappe dalla mano croccante, stropicciature, tinte vegetali. Sì a zip, borchie e catene di grandezze importanti ma in materiali ultra leggeri.

Step 2: Re-Normal Tessili e pelli diventano a prova di smart working. Superfici gonfie e a effetto 3D, abbondano accoppiature, micro fori e punzonature. I materiali sono sensibili al tatto, scamosciati scriventi, effetti talcati, nabuk carteggiato. Tra i tessili, in primo piano lino, canapa e soprattutto denim, principalmente delavé ma in generale in tutte le gradazioni. Non mancano richiami a lavorazioni come tie&dye, batik, nuvolature, spugnature, ton sur ton, in un'evoluzione fantasiosa del camouflage. La pelle assume un effetto used e presenta tamponature e asportazioni.

Step 3: Re-think the Decor Una tendenza forte è quella dei metallizzati, con nuove iridescenze e effetti cangianti, nonchè laminature eseguite con plotter. La possibilità di ottenere effetti inediti in un processo di stampa a caldo è punto d'incontro fra creatività, tecnica e innovazione. L'imperfezione del fatto a mano si combina così alla produzione industriale in un'unione euforica e ricca di spunti interessanti, sia per le pelli che per gli accessori. Tecnologie all'avanguardia permettono di realizzare proposte di carattere, sempre nuove e personalizzate.

Step 4: Re-Write the Future Il mondo digitale/phygital ispira la moda. La tecnologia ci regala nuovi materiali ibridi, ideali per la performance come lavorazioni siliconate e membrane idrorepellenti prive di PFC. Anche gli accessori e le minuterie diventano perfette per l'outdoor con l'utilizzo di materiali compositi o di mix come metacrilato misto a metallo. La nuova frontiera della scienza dei materiali consente di ottenere prodotti e materiali biologici a partire da materie prime molto particolari, come molecole, cellule o matrici extracellulari e va ben al di là dei materiali che conosciamo da sempre, derivati da animali o vegetali come le fibre tessili naturali, il cuoio e le pelli, il legno o la carta.
