A few risks and a lot of comfort
It is neither easy nor banal how the world of footwear materials, components and structures will orient itself. A year of pandemic has undoubtedly upset many balances in the sales phase, consequently, in the proposal of new collections. What seems to emerge from our report is that great attention is still being paid to the world of sports and in particular athleisure, capable of providing comfort and performance. In this sense, flexibility and colour are the masters.
The “natural” variants are very interesting and focus on environmental sustainability.
Very sculpted bottoms and, in some women’s styles, very large volumes still seem to represent an almost immortal trend.
There are interesting details that focus on transparencies or plays of light capable of bringing to life even designs with a sustained critical mass. Heels, on the other hand, are daring, also supported by perfect metal cores. They are bold with multi-faceted geometries, unusual hourglass lines embellished with shades of bright summer colours. Lastly, a note on the men’s panorama, which even when seeking tradition does not abandon thick bottoms with good functional performance. He is a man who does not want to sacrifice practicality and comfort.
Qualche azzardo e molta comodità . Non facile né banale capire come si orienterà il mondo dei materiali, della componentistica e delle strutture legate al settore calzaturiero. Un anno di pandemia ha senza dubbio stravolto molti equilibri in fase di vendita e, di conseguenza, di proposta di nuove collezioni.
Quello che sembra emergere dal nostro report è un’attenzione ancora molto alta per il mondo sportivo, per le atmosfere athleisure capaci di regalare comfort e performance. In tal senso flessibilità e colore la fanno da padrona.
Molto interessanti le varianti ‘al naturale’ che senza dubbio strizzano l’occhio al mondo green.
Fondi molto scolpiti e, in alcuni casi al femminile, volumi ancora molto importanti sembrano rappresentare un trend quasi immortale.
Interessanti i dettagli che puntano su trasparenze o giochi di luce capaci di animare anche i design dalla massa critica sostenuta.
I tacchi invece osano, anche sorretti da perfette anime in metallo. Osano e trovano geometrie sfaccettate, inconsuete linee a clessidra impreziosite da sfumature di colori accesi d’estate.
Una nota, infine, sul panorama maschile che anche nel cercare la tradizione non rinuncia a fondi spessorati, dalla buona prestanza funzionale. È un uomo che non vuole rinunciare a praticità e comodità.
Frasson: Shelter, the latest frontier in safety soles
FROM THE COLLABORATION WITH PARTNER RUBBERMAC, ARRIVES A NEXT-GENERATION SOLE WHERE THE CENTENNIAL KNOW-HOW OF THIS COMPANY FROM TREVISO COMBINES WITH UNIQUE PERFORMANCE AND AN AVANT-GARDE LOOK
Active for over one hundred years in the market of high-performance soles and for thirty years in the safety/military market, Frasson has developed in its own laboratories and in those of its partner Rubbermac a high-tech sole with a striking design for safety footwear: Shelter.
High performance, lightness, comfort, and versatility find perfect equilibrium in Shelter. The design, which is fruit of experience in the development of technical soles, leaves nothing to chance and every shape and volume replies to localized performance. This is especially apparent in the design of the midsole, which is made from high-resiliency polyurethane, allowing for shock-absorp tion in the sole with energy dissipation. However, also the wraparound toecap offers extra protection.
The tread instead implements two technologies patented by Rubbermac: #Weave and Rubbermac Polygum. The #Weave system, thanks to the geometry and pyramid morphology manages to drastically reduce the to tal weight of the sole, while guaranteeing maximum adherence to the ground, SRC anti-slip resistance, functionality, and durability. Rubbermac Polygum instead offers a multi-performance sole, allowing each strategic area of the rubber tread to be per sonalised with a special compound, in accordance with the performance required.
The compound of the tread, produced using the traditional method of vulcanisation and com pression (the same as high performance tires), is proposed in a nitrite compound resistant to hydro carbons with antistatic additives. It can also be pro duced in a Dielectric and ESD compound.
The midsole is instead in a low-density polyester polyurethane compound, which further reduces the final weight of the product, with resistance to hydro carbons, acids, and solvents, while anti-mould and antibacterial additives prolong its life. Finally, it is cov ered in TPU or rubber film that provides an extremely high resistance to impacts, and protects from degra dation by hydrolysis, bacteria, and acids.
In reply to a market that increasingly demands more eco-friendly products, Frasson makes its Shel ter sole available also in an E-compound version, a compound made using a mix of virgin and recycled materials (at 20% in the case of the polyurethane mid sole, and 40% for rubber), which guarantee the same high performance and respect for safety standards in the technical and safety market.

Da oltre cent'anni nel mercato delle suole ad alta prestazione e da trenta in quello per il mercato safety/militare, Frasson ha sviluppato nei laboratori della sua azienda e del partner Rubbermac una suola ad alta tecnologia e design accattivante per la calzatura antinfortunistica: Shelter.
Alte prestazioni, leggerezza, confort e versatilità trovano un perfetto equilibrio all'interno di Shelter. Il design, frutto dell'esperienza nello sviluppo di suole tecniche, non lascia nulla al caso e ogni forma e volume risponde a prestazioni localizzate. Questo si vede in particolare nel design dell'intersuola, realizzata con un poliuretano ad alta resilienza che rende la suola ammortizzante e dissipa l'energia. Ma anche nel puntale avvolgente che offre una extra protezione.
Il battistrada implementa due tecnologie brevettate da Rubbermac: #Weave e Rubbermac Polygum.
Il sistema #Weave, grazie alla geometria e morfologia a piramidi, permette di ridurre drasticamente il peso totale della suola, pur garantendo la massima aderenza al terreno, resistenza allo scivolamento SRC, funzionalità e durata. Rubbermac Polygum rende invece la suola multi-performance permettendo di personalizzare ogni singola area strategica del battistrada in gomma con un compound dedicato, a seconda delle performance richieste. Il compound del battistrada, prodotto nel tradizionale metodo di vulcanizzazione a compressione (lo stesso degli pneumatici ad alta prestazione), è proposto in mescola nitrica resistente agli idrocarburi e additivata antistatica. Può essere prodotto anche in mescola Dielettrica e ESD. L'intersuola è invece in un compound di poliuretano poliestere a bassa densità che riduce ulteriormente il peso finale del prodotto, è resistente agli idrocarburi, acidi e solventi ed è additivato con antimuffe e antibatterici che allungano la sua vita. È infine ricoperto con una pellicola di TPU o di gomma che fornisce un'altissima resistenza a urti, e da attacchi di idrolisi, batteri e acidi.
E per un mercato che richiede sempre più prodotti eco-friendly, Frasson predispone la suola Shelter alla versione in E-compound, mescola realizzata con un mix di materiale vergine e riciclato (20% per l'intersuola in poliuretano, 40% in gomma) che garantisce le stesse prestazioni e il rispetto degli standard di sicurezza del mercato tecnico e safety.

Facom certifies its quality and respect for the environment

Facom understands this quite well and continues along this path, thanks to an attentive monitoring of productive processes, the supply chain, products… while always striving to improve its own performance. Today, Facom produces with a low ecological impact, relying on the renewable energy of solar panels (which cover 30% of the company’s consumption), while recycling metal production scraps, using machines that recover and recycle waste oil, and using a spectrometer that provides accurate chemical analyses of the materials used, allowing for in-house controls that avoid waste… At the same time, it is also in line with Industry 4.0 principles in a scope of making processes as efficient as possible while reducing waste. Additionally, Facom has adopted a Code of Ethics, where it underlines its commitment to the environment, safety, the universal rights of mankind, and its respect for and application of regulations in sourcing metals as set forth by Regulation (EU) 2017/821, the Commission Recommendation (EU) 2018/1149, and OECD guidelines. Altogether, it is an eco-friendly company attentive to waste, which is first in line when it comes to raising awareness among customers and suppliers. “Based on the latest studies undertaken – declares the company in a press release – it emerged that there is a strict correlation between those in possession of environmental certifications and performance indicators, since the economic advantage is strictly connected to the higher organizational level of efficiency (also in terms of environment). Lo sa bene Facom, che prosegue su questa via grazie all'attento monitoraggio dei processi produttivi, della catena forniture, dei prodotti... cercando sempre di migliorare le proprie performance. Ad oggi Facom produce a basso impatto ecologico affidandosi all'energia rinnovabile di pannelli solari (che coprono il 30% dei consumi dell'azienda), al riciclo degli scarti metallici della produzione, all'adozione di macchinari che recuperano e riciclano l'olio esausto, all'utilizzo di uno spettrometro che fornisce accurate analisi chimiche dei materiali utilizzati permettendo il controllo interno e di evitare gli sprechi... Ma anche aderendo ai principi di Industria 4.0 in un'ottica di efficientamento dei processi e riduzione degli sprechi.
Facom ha anche adottato un Codice Etico in cui è stato sottolineato l'impegno nel rispetto dell'ambiente, della sicurezza, dei diritti universali dell'uomo e del rispetto e l'applicazione delle normative per l'approvvigionamento dei metalli come disposto dal Regolamento UE 2017/821, Raccomandazione UE 20181149 e linee guida OCSE. Insomma, un'azienda eco-friendly, attenta agli sprechi e in prima linea per la sensibilizzazione dei clienti e dei fornitori. “Sulla base degli ultimi studi effettuati – dichiara una nota dell'azienda - è stata evidenziata una stretta correlazione tra il possesso di certificazioni ambientali e indicatori di performance in quanto il beneficio economico è strettamente legato ad una maggiore efficienza organizzativa (anche in ambito ambientale).
