MOVING DESIGN Still sneakers, it is obvious since 80% of the proposals at Pitti Uomo were of that sign. In this case, however, the search for a much more driven design takes center stage. The soles feature unusual volumes that also spill a lot onto the heel. Very well cared for treads, functional, but above all eye-catching.

Ancora sneaker, è ovvio visto che l’80% delle proposte a Pitti Uomo era di tale segno. In questo caso, però, la ricerca di un design molto più spinto la fa da padrona. Le suole sono caratterizzate da volumi inusuali che si riversano molto anche sul tallone. Curatissimi i battistrada, funzionali, ma soprattutto accattivanti.

P A R I S

’uomo che si affaccia sui primi caldi della prossima estate (PE2024) sembra combattuto. Scisso fra un’anima che vorrebbe tornare ai classici, a quel tocco di formale che ha messo da parte per lungo tempo, e un’altra parte di sé che lo tiene legato al mondo casual, fatto di sneaker, suole alte in gomma, spessorate e molto evidenti. Una frammentazione di stile che si nota anche negli accessori: rimane lo zaino (chiaro legame alla narrazione sportiva), eppure sbucano dalla soffitta nuovi modelli a mano, rivisitazioni di borse da lavoro che talvolta sfociano nel femminile.

The man facing the first warmth of next summer (SS2024) seems torn. Split between a soul that would like to go back to the classics, to that touch of formal that he has put aside for a long time, and another part of himself that keeps him tied to the casual world, made of sneakers, high rubber soles, thick and very noticeable. A fragmentation of style that can also be seen in the accessories: the backpack remains (a clear link to the sports narrative), yet new hand-held models peek out of the attic, revisitations of work bags that sometimes blur into the feminine.

Mi piace la moda quando riesce a esprimere l’individualità e la creatività di ciascuno. Voglio che le mie immagini mostrino alle persone che possono divertirsi con la moda e raccontare il proprio stile personale, qualunque esso sia. Sono costantemente ispirato dalla diversità delle persone e dai loro stili unici. Il mio processo creativo inizia con l’idea per un look che si trasforma, poi, in una raccolta di pezzi tratti dal mio guardaroba. Così metto insieme il mio stile, a cui amo aggiungere accessori unici, per completare la storia. Sono nato a Da Lat, in Vietnam, e attualmente lavoro come art director in un’agenzia pubblicitaria internazionale. Mi appassiona usare la mia creatività per ispirare gli altri e realizzare qualcosa di veramente bello. Sono Phong Tran. I like fashion when it can express each person’s individuality and creativity. I want my images to show people that they can have fun with fashion and tell their own personal style, whatever that may be. I am constantly inspired by the diversity of people and their unique styles. My creative process starts with an idea for a look, which then turns into a collection of pieces from my wardrobe. So I put together my own style, to which I love to add unique accessories, to complete the story. I was born in Da Lat, Vietnam, and currently work as an art director in an international advertising agency. There seems to be a clear return to elegance on the part of designers who are recreating instances from the past to repurpose them with refined touches of charm. Between futuristic shapes, materials that smell of the past, and tonalities that pierce the usual, we are heading toward a spring summer 2024 that knows how to amaze without appearing too much, adapting to a period in which imagining, but also respecting, seems an appropriate way to face the future.
