Relationship not Religion

Do people don´t believe in God? or do they really believe in him but blame him for the evils of the world? All people have heard the famous phrase “God is relationship, not religion”, but is it true or not? All religions agree that at some point in history, something went wrong. And not only them, all people agree, even those who are not particularly religious will have used the phrase “nobody is perfect”. And it’s the reason that many people hate church, many of the people who don’t believe in God, or those who “claim to hate him”, do not really believe in religion, because the church failed them, or someone within the church hurt them. The point here is that humans are imperfect, and they make mistakes, and religion is full of imperfect people. But God has always been perfect and good. What I want to show here is that if people base their faith on a religion, they will surely end up far from God. But if they base their faith on a direct relationship with him, everything will change. Having this in mind, knowing God should be a relationship and not something that a religion forces people to do.

When there is no explanation for something bad, people blame God, but when good things happen, they seem to forget the existence of him. Typical atheistic questions about “if God is almighty, why does he let innocent and good people die?” don’t make sense because God is good, and if he is good there is no point in assuming him of evil. God loved the world so much that he gave the world the opportunity to make its own decisions, he wants children, not slaves. To put it differently, it is humans who are bad, not God. As a matter or fact, another “argument” they use for not believing in God is, how can we believe in the bible which is the word of God if it was written by so many authors? The bible was written in approximately 1000 years by various authors and is never contradicted because it is inspired by God. As shown above, people must choose, whether believing in God or believing in religion, it is not the same.

“People cannot believe in something that is not seen.” Karl Kraus. Although this may be true and it cannot be proved that God exists, everything that is around us proves its existence, part of the believing in God is based on faith. Jesus said, “So, you believe because you’ve seen with your own eyes. Even better blessings are in store for those who believe without seeing.” Jhon 20:29. Scientific knowledge would show that the true causes of these phenomena are exclusively natural. Something perfect cannot be the work of an accident. In essence, science is not the enemy of God, God created it.

All things considered; a religion should not force people to believe in God as they can decide whether to have a relationship with him. After all, God is good, and if he is good there is no point in assuming him of evil. At the same time, church is made of people, and as long as it is, people can make mistakes, and this is where people must decide whether to believe in God who is perfect, or religion that is imperfect. If people believe in religion above God, they will end up hating him, because the church is full of imperfect people. Believe in God, he is Good, nice and perfect.
