SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY IN THE NETHERLANDS

LEIDEN UNIVERSITY EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Leiden University offers scholarships to excellent non-EU/EEA students studying their master’s degree and students of all nationalities studying a Master of Law Advanced program or a Master in Cyber Security or International Relations and Diplomacy.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to non-EU/EEA citizens who are not eligible for support under the Dutch system of study grants and loans. AWARD: The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship program has three awards: €10,000 of the tuition fee; €15,000 of the tuition fee; and total tuition fee minus the statutory tuition fee. The number and type of award of the scholarship depends on the budget available for each faculty department. The type of award has no reflection on the students’ academic level of excellence. MAASTRICHT UNIVERSITY HOLLAND HIGH POTENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

The Maastricht High Potential Scholarship is intended for international students who wish to pursue a master’s or professional program at Maastricht University. This scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in conjuction with Dutch universities of applied sciences.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to excellent students from outside the European Union/European Economic Area (EU/EEA) who wish to do a master’s or a professional education program at Maastricht University. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded living expenses of €10,500 EUR, insurance of €520 EUR, visa cost of €317 EUR and tuition fees of €13,000 EUR or €17,500 EUR. UNIVERSITY OF AMSTERDAM EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

The University of Amsterdam offers a prestigious new scholarship program for exceptionally talented and academically outstanding master’s students from outside Europe.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to non-EU students from any discipline who graduated in the top 10% of their class may apply. Selection is on the basis of academic excellence, ambition and the relevance of the selected master’s program to a student’s future career. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded a full scholarship worth €25,000 EUR (covering tuition and living expenses). DEADLINE: February. Learn more here.

UTRECHT EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS

Utrecht University offers 25 excellence scholarships divided over 6 graduate schools that are for students who want to pursue their master’s degree in the Netherlands.

ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to international students who have completed their studies outside the Netherlands. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded full tuition fees or tuition fees plus €11,000 EUR living expenses. DEADLINE: February. Learn more here.

RADBOUD SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Radboud Scholarship Program offers a select number of talented prospective non-EEA students the opportunity to receive a scholarship to pursue a complete English-taught master’s degree program at Radboud University. The Radboud Scholarship Program is very selective and is only intended for talented students who have obtained outstanding study results and are highly motivated to pursue a master’s degree program at Radboud University.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to international students who have been admitted in a master’s program at Radboud University. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded a partial tuition waiver to the level of an EU citizen. In addition, the Radboud Scholarship also covers costs such as those for visa, residence permit, health insurance and liability insurance. This amounts to about €725 EUR. DEADLINE: March. ERIC BLEUMINK FUND

This grant is offered by the Univesity of Groningen and is awarded for a 1 year or 2 years master’s program.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to international students who have gained admission to the University of Groningen. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded tuition fee, costs of international travel, subsistence, books, and health insurance. DEADLINE: December. Learn more here.

TU DELFT EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

TU Delft offers a number of scholarships that are 3 per faculty and are available for outstanding international students. This scheme is financed by Justus & Louise Van Effen who studied at TU Delft in the 1940s and strongly believed technological developments will contribute to solving societal issues.

ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to international applicants admitted to one of TU Delft’s MSc programs with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 80 percent or higher of the scale maximum in their bachelor’s degree from an internationally renowned university outside the Netherlands. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded a full fee waiver for a TU Delft MSc program and living expenses for 2 years. UNIVERSITY OF TWENTE SCHOLARSHIPS

The University of Twente offers scholarships to non-EU students to pursue a master’s program. The benefit of UTS is becoming one of the most promising UT students as well as an exclusive opportunity to take part in an intake for one of the three honours programs: Research honours, design honours or change leaders.

ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to excellent students from both EU/EEA as well as non-EU/ EEA countries, applying for a master’s program at the University of Twente. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded €3,000 EUR – €25,000 EUR for one year. DEADLINE: May. Learn more here.

VU AMSTERDAM FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

The VU Fellowship program offers talented prospective international students the unique opportunity to pursue a master’s degree at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. VU is committed to providing approximately one million Euros toward attracting highly motivated and excellent students.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to students of all nationalities who are academically excellent and admitted at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded a tuition fee waiver. VUFP scholarship does not provide any additional allowance towards study or living costs. DEADLINE: February. Learn more here.

TILLBURG UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS

Tillburg University offers international students excellent sholarships who are admitted to a research (master’s program).

THE HOLLAND SCHOLARSHIP

The Holland Scholarship is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their bachelor’s or master’s in the Netherlands. This scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science as well as several Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to non-EEA citizens who are applying for a full-time bachelor’s or master’s program at one of the participating Dutch higher education institutions. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded €5,000 EUR. This will be received in the first year of your studies but is not a full-tuition scholarship. DEADLINE: February. Learn more here.

DESMOND FORTES SCHOLARSHIP

The Desmond Fortes Scholarship is for ambitious professionals from Asia and Africa who are employed within FMO’s client network and have a strong interest in green finance.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to students from Asia and Africa who are employed within FMO’s client network and applied for the master’s program Environment and Resource Management at VU Amsterdam. AWARD: You can use the Desmond Fortes Scholarship to do a full-time one-year master’s program in Environmental Sustainability, including a thesis research internship at FMO. DEADLINE: April. SINO DUTCH SCHOLARSHIP

The Sino Dutch Scholarship program is financed by the Dutch ministry of Education where the China Scholarship council is responsible for the pre-selction of candidates. This program focuses on excellent Chinese third year bachelor’s, master’s or PhD students who want to study or do research in the Netherlands for at least one academic year.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to excellent Chinese third year bachelor’s, master’s or PhD students who want to study or do research in the Netherlands for at least one academic year. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded a contribution of €16,113 EUR towards the total costs of a study or research in the Netherlands. DEADLINE: March. Learn more here.

MENA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The MENA Scholarship program offers scholarships to professionals for short courses in the Netherlands. They aim to contribute to the democratic transition in the participating countries.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to nationals of one of the following countries: Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded a tuition-free short course in the Netherlands. DEADLINE: The deadline varies depending on the host university. Learn more here.

ORANGE TULIP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Orange Tulip Scholarship Program (OTS) gives talented students in several Neso countries the opportunity to study in the Netherlands. It is offered by higher education institutions, multinationals and government institutions.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to students from the following countries: Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
