SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY IN THE USA
FULBRIGHT PROGRAM
The Fulbright Program provides orientation and enrichment opportunities to enhance the Fulbright Program experience in the United States. The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) sponsors the Fulbright Program under policy guidelines established by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FSB) and in cooperation with bi-national Fulbright Commissions and the Public Affairs Sections of U.S. Embassies abroad.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to international students from any country who are not U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or dual citizens of the U.S. and another country. Program eligibility and selection procedures vary widely by country. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded stipend, monthly maintenance, travel and tuition assistance, grant stipends and benefits vary from country to country. Grants awarded to countries with Fulbright Commissions often differ from those to countries without Fulbright Commissions. DEADLINE: Varies based on nationalities. Learn more here.
The AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship promotes educational access and opportunity while enhancing international diversity. Bringing together the best of AU — academic excellence, leadership development, and global engagement — the AU Emerging Global Leader achieves, inspires, and serves with vision.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to international students from any country who are not U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or dual citizens of the U.S. and another country. CIVIL SOCIETY LEADERSHIP AWARDS
The Civil Society Leadership Awards (CSLA) provide fully funded master’s degree study to individuals who clearly demonstrate academic and professional excellence and a deep commitment to leading positive social change in their communities.
ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to citizens of the following countries: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Cambodia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Laos, Libya, Myanmar/Burma, Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded financial and administrative support for the following: pre-academic preparation via summer schools; program-related travel; tuition and mandatory university fees; monthly stipend for room, board, and other living expenses; accident and sickness insurance during the program; funds for educational materials and professional development; attendance at a regional Scholarship Programs conference; accommodations during the application process and the duration of the grant for applicants with disabilities. The vision of The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program is to educate and develop academically qualified yet economically disadvantaged young people in Africa who will contribute to the transformation of the continent.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of Sub-Saharan Africa. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded financial support for fees, uniforms, books and supplies, transportation, accommodation, and stipends. DEADLINE: The deadline varies depending on the host university. Learn more here.
WESLEYAN FREEMAN ASIAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Wesleyan Freeman Asian Scholarship Program provides expenses for a four-year course of study toward a bachelor’s degree for up to eleven exceptionally able Asian students.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded a scholarship to cover the cost of tuition and student fees (called “full tuition scholarship”) regardless of his or her family’s financial situation. THE HUBERT H. HUMPHREY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program is for experienced professionals interested in strengthening their leadership skills through a mutual exchange of knowledge and understanding about issues of common concern in the U.S. and Fellows’ home countries.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of eligible countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and Eurasia, Middle East and North Africa, East Asia and Pacific, South and Central Asia, and Western Hemisphere. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded payment of tuition and fees, a maintenance (living) allowance, medical insurance, book allowance, and air travel. DEADLINE: October. Learn more here.
LOTUS SCHOLARSHIP
The Lotus Scholarship is awarded to students who achieve high academic standards and demonstrate a financial need in order to attend University of the West (UWest). The Scholarship was established in 2012 and has so far been awarded to more than 150 students.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to new students seeking either bachelor’s degrees or master’s degrees at UWest. Doctoral degree students, ELI students, or students seeking certificates only are not eligible for this scholarship. NYU WAGNER MERIT BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
Merit-based scholarships to help you finance your degree at New York University. Approximately 20% of enrolling students are awarded scholarships.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN IN MEDIA SCHOLARSHIP
All too often, women have to work extra hard to gain the same respect or status as a man in a similar position, especially those in foreign countries. To this end, Everipedia has created a list of female reporters and journalists that they believe deserve recognition for their work. The International Women in Media Scholarship aims to bring awareness and recognition to women working tirelessly across the globe in search of the truth.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to seniors in high school or students currently enrolled in a college/university. Applicants must be fluent in English. ILLINOIS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS
Merit-based scholarships are offered to qualified international applicants with outstanding academic achievement and test scores on the required entrance exams. These awards range from $10,000 – $25,000 per year and are renewable for up to four years. In some instances, additional help is provided through student loans and campus employment.

COLUMBIA COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
All international applicants eligible for full program admission to the traditional Day Campus are encouraged to compete in Scholarship Day. Scholarship Day is a competition for the top awards as well as additional leadership, talent, and institutional academic awards. The competition consists of two parts: a written essay and an interview. Applicants to the College who are unable to attend Scholarship Day in person may compete by completing their interview portion over the phone or through video conferencing.
ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to non-native English speakers applying to the main campus in Columbia, Missouri. Students must also meet minimum eligibility requirements and be attending the traditional Day Campus full time as a degree seeking student each semester. MICROSOFT DISABILITY SCHOLARSHIP
The disAbility Scholarship at Microsoft delivers on the mission of Microsoft’s cross disability employee resource group to empower and enable people with disabilities. This scholarship enables high school students with disabilities to go to college and target a career in the technology industry. Microsoft additionally hopes that this scholarship allows more people living with disabilities to enroll in higher education, and decrease unemployment levels for this demographic
This scholarship will be awarded to promising high school seniors who plan to attend a vocational or academic college and have a financial need. The amount of this renewable scholarship to be awarded is $5,000 per year, up to $20,000. The scholarship is paid through the Seattle Foundation on behalf of the disAbility Employee Resource Group (ERG) at Microsoft to the recipient’s school’s Financial Aid Office.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to applicants of all nationalities, as long as they are a current high school senior with living with a disability (as defined by WHO). AWARD: Recipients will be awarded $5,000 USD per year, up to $20,000 USD. DEADLINE: March. Learn more here.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to students committed to improving lives and passionate about helping the community. It is geared toward women with big dreams who want to make a difference in the world. To receive this award, you must be a woman, 30 years old or more (on the day you submit your application), and interested in studying Arts and Design.
