SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY IN MEXICO

MEXICAN GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) invites foreign citizens who are interested in studying for a specialization, master’s degree or doctorate, conducting graduate or postdoctoral research, or taking part in an undergraduate or graduatelevel academic mobility program, to participate in the 2018 Mexican Government Scholarship Program for International Students.

ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD students with a minimum grade point average of 80 on a scale of 0 to 100, or the equivalent, for their last academic degree received. Candidates must also be accepted or currently enrolled in a program of the participating Mexican universities. For full eligibility requirements, click here. FUNDACIÓN CAROLINA SCHOLARSHIPS

Fundación Carolina Scholarships aim to facilitate and promote the expansion of university graduate studies as well as the specialization and updating of knowledge of postgraduates, professors, researchers, artists and professionals from the Latin American countries members of the Ibero-American Community of Nations and Portugal.

MEXICAN SCHOLARSHIPS FOR BELIZEANS

The Government of Mexico, through its Foreign Ministry, offers scholarships to Belizeans every year, to pursue bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Scholarship applications are usually made through the Embassy of Mexico in Belize.

UNAM SCHOLARSHIP FOR POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMS

The Coordination of Postgraduate Studies (Coordinación de Estudios de Posgrado [CEP]) operates this Scholarship Program.

ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to regular full-time master’s and doctoral students dedicating their time exclusively to their studies and have a minimum grade average of 8.5 if currently enrolled in a master’s program or from their previous studies. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded 4.5 times the amount of the current daily minimum wage in the Federal District for master’s students and 6.0 that amount for doctorate students. AUTONOMOUS UNIVERSITY OF NUEVO LEÓN SCHOLARSHIPS

Autonomous University of Nuevo León offers scholarships and support aids for students to complete their studies at Autonomous University of Nuevo León.

RAINFOREST ALLIANCE KLEINHANS FELLOWSHIP

The Rainforest Alliance has a long history of working with forest communities that have established their own locally managed enterprises, providing them with training and technical assistance on sustainable forestry practices, value-added processing, business administration, market access and more. The geographic scope of the Kleinhans Fellowship is restricted to Latin America, with a preference for the following locations: Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and Peru.

ELIGIBILITY: This fellowship is open to candidates with a master’s degree in forestry, ecology, botany, environmental science or an appropriate related field. Doctoral candidates or post-doctoral researchers are preferred, although applicants may substitute relevant experience for higher-level degrees. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded a two-year stipend of $20,000 USD per year to support research that addresses one of the selected topics. Learn more here. DEADLINE: February. Learn more here.

CONACYT-OAS-AMEXCID SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Organization of American States (OAS), the Mexican National Science and Technology Council (CONACYT) and the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), with the support of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), under the OAS Partnership Program for Education and Training (PAEC), offer scholarships and one-time grants for graduate programs.

ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to citizens of the OAS Member States, with the exception of Mexico. Approximately 1 out of 6 scholarships are exclusively for students from Central America and the Caribbean. For full eligibility requirements, click here. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded a one-time stipend of $1,200 USD and scholarship to cover basic medical insurance, living expenses, total or partial enrollment fee in Mexican universities part of the OAS Consortium, and costs associated with carrying out part of the studies at institutions outside of Mexico.
