New Zealand (from Australia only)

Where education and adventure go hand in hand

Imagine a high school exchange where you get the benefits of a great education and a diverse choice of leisure activities, from skiing down snow-covered slopes to surfing on spectacular waves. That’s what you get when you go on an exchange in New Zealand.

Learn for Life in New Zealand

School uniforms, fun high school spirit, and exciting school subjects such as outdoor education await you in New Zealand. You’ll combine high quality education with different sports and activities, including popular sports like rugby, lacrosse, swimming, basketball, golf and hockey. Excursions and school gatherings throughout the year all add up to a rich exchange experience.

North or South, you’re in for a great experience

As a Southern Cross Cultural Exchange exchange student, you’ll live either on the North or South Island – the two main islands where all our host families live. The North Island has a warmer climate while the South Island is cooler. You might get to try skiing, surfing, snorkelling or other outdoor activities in a country that features turquoise waters, imposing volcanoes and expanses of green landscapes.

Experience the Classic exchange in New zealand

In New Zealand we offer the Classic High School program, which provides the traditional exchange experience. You’ll live with a caring host family and attend a high school near your new home. You’ll be immersed each day in a new culture and share meals and other daily rituals with your host family. Throughout your entire exchange, you’ll be supported in both your home and host country by our One Team Across the Globe, who will work together to ensure you have a safe and successful exchange.
