Bienvenue to your life-changing exchange

An exchange to France is an immersive experience in French language and culture. You’ll never be far from the historic sites, monuments and castles scattered throughout the country. You’ll experience the iconic French lifestyle, and the French cuisine will taste like home after just a few weeks.

High school – or le lycée – in France is well known for high quality education. You’ll get placed in the program and grade that suits your age, previous knowledge and education. Most programs have set subjects but you may have opportunities to choose some subjects.

Experience the Classic exchange in france

In France we offer the Classic High School program, which provides the traditional exchange experience. You’ll live with a caring host family and attend a high school near your new home. You’ll be immersed each day in a new culture and language, and share meals and other daily rituals with your host family. Throughout your entire exchange, you’ll be supported in both your home and host country by our One Team Across the Globe, who will work together to ensure you have a safe and successful exchange. “My favourite thing about the exchange would probably have to be having the opportunity to immerse myself in the culture and daily life of France! I was placed in an incredible host family on the outskirts of Paris. I had a fantastic bunch of friends at school, with whom I played soccer with every day at lunch. Living so close to Paris, on the weekends I would catch the train into Paris and explore, sometimes with my host family and sometimes alone.”

“I must admit I didn’t understand anything they were doing in class, but school was somehow so enjoyable. Everyone wants to know you, they will always ask you questions and you’re never alone. You make so many friends and it’s such an amazing experience. Plus, experiencing different school environments, classes and routines is so much fun.”
