Learn for Life in Japan

School uniforms, high standards of discipline and the hiragana alphabet await you in your Japanese high school. High school classes in Japan are often quite large, with around 30 to 40 pupils per class. Students usually take subjects such as maths, social studies, science, English, and Japanese, as well as one or two creative subjects. There are usually few options for elective subjects.

“I called my family and friends every now and then, but because I was just having such a good time I didn’t really get homesick. As a matter of fact, in the end I didn’t want to leave at all!“

– Lloyd in the Japan

Experience the Classic exchange in Japan

In Japan we offer the Classic High School program, which provides the traditional exchange experience. You’ll live with a caring host family and attend a high school near your new home. You’ll be immersed each day in a new culture and language, and share meals and other daily rituals with your host family. Throughout your entire exchange, you’ll be supported in both your home and host countryby our One Team Across the Globe, who will work together to ensure you have a safe and successful exchange.

“My time in Japan was such an amazing experience. I learnt more language then I ever could have imagined and because I was placed in a such small Japanese town, everyone knew who I was, I felt so welcomed.”
