Cycling Upgrades Things are beginning to dry out on some of the sunnier and lower trails around the valley. More and more cyclists are getting out there. I see that the parking areas at Swansea and at Lillian Lake have been upgraded extensively. There is a lot more parking which is a good thing as the trails are getting busier every year.

Happy Easter This weekend brings us Easter, celebrated in many different ways by many different cultures. Within the Christian community, it is all about Jesus and his crucifixion leading to being placed in a tomb and rising from it to be with his Father, God. It is a great story. To many others it is about chocolate bunnies and eggs. I always looked forward to that as a kid. For my family it was a mix of religion and commercialism, similar to Christmas. I wish you all a wonderful Easter weekend spent in fellowship with friends and family. May God bless you all.
Riddliculous Each of the two words in the answers begin with the letter ‘B’. London’s famous timekeeper. People born between 1946 and 1964. Stylish pants in the 1960s. Halitosis. See page 6.
Ticket Dropped So it has been 15 months of stress and resilience with regards to the ticket I received for writing an article in The Valley Peak. We went through several rescheduled court dates. I guess I should thank some of our local authorities, some elected, others not, for all this stress over a totally illegal ticket. Bullying and censorship are alive and well. Thanks really to Rebel News and the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms for their legal support and for their belief in the Canadian Charter of Rights. Freedom of Speech, Freedom to Gather and Freedom of Press are all important and all at risk these days. Stand up people. Do not comply to crazy, illegal mandates that do nothing to protect us but really push separation and discrimination.
Bouncy Castles It is pretty tough to afford a bouncy castle these days. Something to do with too much inflation.
Memories I was reading issues from 2018 when I was getting chemo and new at dialysis. It brings back some pretty scary memories. I am very blessed to still be here on this planet. I believe God has a plan for every one of us.

OPENING MAY LONG WEEKEND

I love this time of year watching the trees budding, the grass greening, golf courses opening, hiking and biking trails drying up, birds singing and so much more. Chilly, sunny morning walks and warm afternoons on the deck. I have a wonderful southfacing deck so things get very toasty out there. Blessings. Where I live is a very open neighbourhood without a bunch of traffic so a lot of people go by daily on walks, riding bikes and what not. Everyone is in a good mood, waving and chatting up the dogs. Sometimes traffic goes pretty fast here so I did put up a fence to keep the hounds in the yard. Watson’s demise right out front was pretty sad. I hope to not have to experience that again but life happens quickly sometimes. Well that was a depressing memory but hey, at least it was a bit of a new complaint compared to my writing over the past two years. On that note, it is exciting to see more and more doctors standing up for the health of their patients. More than 100 here in B.C. now. There are just too many health issues happening around us to ignore it. Something has changed lately and there are only so many ‘coincidences’. I hope everyone is doing well. A reminder that if anyone is experiencing kidney issues and would like to get together to see what that looks like, please connect with me. I feel I have a solid background in that world now. I want to thank all the folks who have been helping with deliveries these past couple of years. You are incredible and really help deep this going. Thanks also to the advertisers and the readers. Good work.

OLD BLUE TRUCK FARM TOUR Saturday, April 16, 1 pm 1076 Swansea Rd
Come and discover what we have been up to. We’ll show you our secrets to how we grow Beyond Organic nutrient dense food without herbicides, pesticides and without the use of fertilizers. Spoiler alert…there is just one secret to learn. 1-250-270-0282. Please RSVP to oldbluetruckfarm@gmail.com Following the farm tour at 3 pm we plan to have our first ever Firepit Philosophy at Old Blue. You are invited to join us in conversations about Fellowship & Community. To be honest, I have never done anything like this before and am not sure the best way to go about building community, but I do know that it will need to be an organic process and not a dictated process . Therefore I want to start by planting the seed of getting together, in a circle, around a fire, and let the process take care of itself. Come one and come all, no matter what your age, and we can start the conversation. We don’t have many extra lawn chairs so bring some if you have them and anything else you would like to share. We will have some snacks and drinks.
We, at Old Blue, look forward to meeting you all. The Soil Whisperer

Watson’s Waddle So they say it is tick season out there these days. A lot of people stress out during tick season but as dogs, Rocky and I (Drew) look forward to it. ‘Why?” you ask. Because it gets us some extra loving from Rob. If we are out in a tick-rich area, we will be getting an amazing rubdown/tick inspection after our walk or maybe later in the evening. It is amazing. Please get in the habit of checking your pets regularly. Check their ears, armpits, around the collar, underneath the tail and anywhere else that might be warm and cozy. Basically, just love up your dog extensively with lots of rubs. They won’t complain. On a separate note, we have been loving the dialysis sessions lately. Rob has been getting a few visitors lately and that just means rubs, walks and treats for us. Bassetts are known for their cute but sad looks which makes it pretty easy to manipulate humans. We have been called dangerous because of our manipulation skills. It is a good thing we get lots of walks in a day or we would both be packing on a lot of weight with all of the treats we enjoy. We love firepit parties with hot dogs and smokies. Those are wonderful snacks. Thanks again to Kootenay Kritters for getting us out there for some fun and exercise and to Unleashed for keeping our crazy nails under control. Good people.

I am currently reading through the book of Matthew in the Bible. It is a very interesting read about Jesus and his life. At the same time I have really taken to playing readings of scripture on my computer. Even while I sleep I enjoy getting some subconscious learning happening. It has definitely helped with my sleeping patterns. I do need to get deeper into the Bible. I enjoy daily readings from a little booklet every day.

Gardening Season It is definitely time to get prepping the growing spaces for the season. I have actually planted a bit of lettuce and some radishes. I have a bit of garlic and some strawberries still in the ground from last year. Everything is covered with a bit of mulch to protect form freezing. There are a few cold weather veggies out there and I plan on planting each accordingly. Peas will be soon. Indoors I have tried to start some tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, broccoli and cauliflower. They take a few days to even germinate so we shall see how things play out. I love watching vegetables grow as much as I like eating them. It is amazing what nature can do. Thank God for that.

Mandates Dropped Everyone is feeling pretty good about almost getting back to normal. Most of the restaurants and pubs are opening their doors to everyone. Hopefully everyone returns to these establishments after being turned away for months. I have heard of a couple valley establishments that are choosing to keep up the ‘mandates’, even though every bit of scientific evidence has shown they did nothing to slow the spread. That is outright discrimination based on someone making a different medical choice than yourself. That is sad. Basically just very fearful or virtue signaling to the extreme leading to discrimination. After months of claiming ‘folllow the science’ and you are now opposing it. That is sad folks. Yes, Bonnie has said we can choose to continue if we like but again, choosing discrimination is never the right thing to do.
It Was That Year (From page 4) In 1957, the peak of the birth of the baby boomers, a house cost $12,200, a car was $2,800 and the average annual income was $4,550. The Brooklyn Dodgers moved to Los Angeles, radar guns were introduced and Humphrey Bogart died of cancer.
Fishing Season Obviously fishing is one of my favourite things. Pre-dialysis I would camp and fish nearly 100 days each year. That has all changed with my health so it is basically daytrips only. Sadly I am so weak with my heart condition that I actually need support to get my boat in the water. It fills me with shame and requires some very special people with a great attitude to come along. We do usually catch a few nice trout though. Due to dialysis and dealing with the paper, I will likely only get in a day or two a week if I am lucky. Tight lines everyone.
First Response Defibrillators re-pulse me.
Huge Conspiracy? Are you getting it yet? The ‘elites’ from the World Economic Forum, including our own prime minister are now openly talking about ‘The Great Rese’;, otherwise known as Agenda 2030 or the Fourth Industrial Revolution. to kickstart the reset. The unelected tyrant leader of all this, Klaus Schwab has written a book called ‘The Great Reset’ which talks about population reduction and the fact that we will ‘own nothing and be happy’. That means that he and his minions will own everything (they will be happy). His buddy. Bill Gates, has a video describing how he can use vaccines to lower the world population. It is all happening right before our eyes and we can’t comply quick enough. Crazy conspiracies.
