Live Comedy

Catch a live comedy show this Saturday, April 29 at 7 pm at the Columbia Lake Rec Centre at Akisqnuk. I love live comedy. Local Jay Nick will perform the opening act. Tickets are $20 ($10 for children). Everyone is welcome to come and support our local talent.

Outdoor Archery

The Bow Dynamics Intuitive Archery program is moving outside for the season. They will be at Luxor Corrals near Spur Valley every Monday and Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.

Everyone is invited to come try this out.

Good Soup

My friend asked me to say ‘wonton’ backwards.

“Not now,” I said.

POW Pizza

Did you have a chance to try POW Pizza in Windermere last year? The food was quite amazing. The atmosphere was awesome as well. That is a beautiful deck set up. Windermere can use some more good food services these days. Apparently he has a lot of work to do to meet the standards of RDEK. It will be

Volume 21 Issue 15

tough to meet every single little thing they are nitpicking about but Jesse plans to try his best. His goal is to eventually put up a nice restaurant but we all have to start somewhere.

He could use a bit of easy support. Send a note off to the RDEK letting them know you believe POW Pizza is a good asset to the community.

Effective Advertising

A lot of folks post their openings and businesses on Facebook where potentially many eyes can see them. The thing to remember about FB ads is that the people seeing them are mostly at home on FB. They are not likely to get out much. Try The Valley Peak for only $25/ad. More than 1,000 people see it every week and they are all out of their houses to pick it up. How can you not take advantage of that? Contact info is on the top of the page.

Blossoms

The first crocuses are out and dandelions will soon follow. Please remember that these flowers are very important to the survival of our bees and other insects. Do not rush to get rid of them. They are kind of a beautiful yellow as it is. Enjoy the natural processes of life.

LIVE COMEDY SHOW

Lots Going On

It seems like a quiet week in the valley as I am so out of the picture for the scene these days. There are still Legion dinners, bands and DJs at ULLR, trivia and live music at the Station, live music at the Horsethief, Arrowhead and more. The District of Invermere often has something going on for the public as well.

None of these places have been supporting The Valley Peak so I do not follow them too closely. I will have to work on that as informing the public is more important than politics. Get out and enjoy the valley.

Riddliculous

‘Icky’ words. Each contains the letters ‘ick’. A small, preserved cucumber. A line of striking labourers. Japanese human-powered vehicle. A moniker.

A heavy, sweet, dark rye bread. See page 6.

Religion

Many folks will tell me that they are spiritual but not religious. They tie in the word religion with attending an organized Church. They work to stay in touch with their ‘creator’ however they can. As a Christian, I rely on the Bible for direction and other Christians for love and fellowship. I don’t go to Church enough but I try. I have been enjoying the Radium Christian Fellowship lately. It is a pretty casual Church full of love.

The Bible is a great instruction book for life. The New Testament is all about goodness and love. I was once directed to Isai-

Drew here, reporting for the hound dogs. I am the young and loud one. Rocky is a bit more mellow. I love howling at dogs that are passing by as well as most people. We don’t get out as much as usual lately. We have been spoiled with 3 or 4 walks every day for most of our time here. With Rob’s health there have been a lot of walkers but lately it is down to just Kootenay Kritters. Rob is almost healed and can take us for very short strolls but thank Heaven for Jen and our long adventures to different places. A lot of dogs love her. A couple more weeks and we will be out and about with Rob much more. Fishing comes to mind. We love that fishing boat as it is so comfy. We love this time of year. It is definitely spring in our front yard. The poop has appeared everywhere. We almost laugh watching Rob go around with a shovel and bags. I can’t wait to leave some more gifts out there. We are definitely spending a lot more time out there with the warmer weather. The sun hits our couch on the deck directly and it is so warm we love it. I hope everyone gets out into the spring weather with their dogs.

What Year Was It?

Lots of debuts this year, Casper the Friendly Ghost, Pepe Le Pew, ball point pens, clock radios and Elvis (at age 10) made his first public appearance. France joined the United Nations, the microwave oven was patented and Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected to an unheard-of 4th term before dying of a stroke. What year was it? See page 7.

Cannabis Seeds

If anyone out there has a couple of extra cannabis seeds, that would be great. Even better if you have some quality clones going, I would love a couple just to throw in the garden this year. I get lots of sun there so cannabis grows strongly

Robservations

Another week with a nice mix of emails. Feedback is always welcome. Kathy loves The Valley Peak, including my different opinions. She obviously sees some of the same resources as I see. It was a very nice, supportive email. She even passed a couple articles on to some Calgary friends. Bob was a different story. He is more of a mainstream media guy for his research with a bit extra to reinforce his thoughts. I really appreciate that he reads The Valley Peak and make his own decisions. He believes that I am risking a lot of lives with my opinions. He says, “Safe and effective”, ignoring all the strokes, clots, heart issues and cancers happening around us. Everyone has health issues eventually.

I like to think that most of my readers are smart enough to make informed decisions about what they believe. Many agree with me and many don’t. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, especially if their health and bodily autonomy are concerned. No one else can make the decision for you but many will try. On another note, a bit more light-hearted, most of the lakes are pretty clear of ice or close to it. I just need a couple strong gentlemen to help get the boat back on the trailer. It is an easy enough job but I can’t do it solo. I might offer up a fishing expedition with lots of rainbows guaranteed. May long weekend is approaching so I am sure we will see a big change in the main lake with all the ski boats and pontoon boats showing up on the water. I hope everyone has an amazing year on the lakes. It is beautiful here.

Sorry for the negativity in this issue. Sadly it is my current state of mind.

New Clients

The Valley Peak has picked up a couple new clients lately including Bear Mountain Services, Sobeys and Canadian Tire. Welcome. Let them know you have seen their ads in The Valley Peak.

Freedom

The truth will set you free. Be true to yourself and you will feel better and stronger every day. Live a life of untruths and feel fear and weakness always.

Canadian Sports Trivia

There was no Stanley Cup awarded in 1919 because of a Spanish Flu epidemic and in 2005 because of the labour dispute and lockout.

Garden Season

It is almost May 1 and things are warming up. It has been a few days since the last frost (but more will come). It is time to prepare the garden beds.

Today I managed to dig up a couple of pea beds and I have some peas soaking to get them ready to plant. They can handle a bit of cool weather. I will plant them this afternoon or tomorrow.

I might plant a few radishes as they don mind the cold and they grow quickly so I can get some greenery in the garden. I am waiting for my load of horse poop for the main garden bed. Yummy nutrition. I was considering digging up another garden section but procrastination and laziness have been a problem.

Canadian is Bad

So our current government has been working hard to reduce Canadian oil and coal production in the name of climate change. They tell you how bad it is for the environment. Yet at the same time we are investing millions into Chinese coal and Saudi oil. Sad as our extraction processes are so much cleaner.

Again, Stay Healthy

Whether you are jabbed or not, building a strong immune system is your best bet for a long and healthy life. God gave us an incredible immune system that is designed to fight off anything on this planet, including manmade viruses from Wuhan. Fresh air, rest, water, vitamins, healthy food and a positive attitude will serve you well out there.

The mask and vaccine passport routines seem to be over with so we can quit pretending they were helping and get on with real health programs.

Riddliculous Answer

(From page 2) Pickle, picket, rickshaw, nickname and pumpernickel.

Inappropriate Behavior

What do I find inappropriate? Grown men dressing as women and dancing in front of children under the guise of ‘Story Time’. Transgenderism has gone from acceptance to controlling the narrative. The World Economic Forum has declared pedophilia to be okay and is removing penalties in 60 countries. Bill Gates has stated that children are very sexual beings. Disney movies and other cartoons contain many pedo references.

Thousands of children disappear every year and no one talks about it. The ‘authorities’ want to sexualize the children and break down the family unit. Why? Well that is an even worse story.

Low Mobility

I am really itching to try out golf again. It has been nearly a year since the heart surgery. I am still very weak but that might just force me to swing easy and smoothly. Sadly my legs are still very weak and sore, so it will be a few more weeks until I try. I hope everyone is having a nice golf season so far.

Bud Light

Bud light seems to have made a marketing error lately. Apparently not everyone wants to drink beer from a can with a transgender photo on it. Reality has hit hard. They lost billions in sales as a result. What do they say? “Get woke and go broke.”

Some companies chose transgender folks as their ‘woman of the year’ and others are taking over in women’s sports. All under the guise of ‘acceptance’ of transgenders. It is an insane concept that is being accepted by some. Women are losing their rights because of little catch phrases such as ‘transgender rights are human rights’ and they override everything these days.

It Was That Year

(From page 4) In 1945, Canada played a huge role in World War II as it came to an end.

Fun Vacuums

I remember growing up and playing outside almost all day every day. We played a lot of games that had us running around and getting exercise. I used to love ‘King of the Hill’ as we had the perfect little slope to push each other down.

We also played a lot of ‘Cowboys and Indians’. Sometimes I was a Cowboy, sometimes an Indian. Sometimes the Cowboys won, sometimes the Indians were victorious. Anyway, it was a lot of fun, along with all the games and no one felt like anyone was culturally appropriating anything. No one was offended.

Let me know if you are miserable enough to be offended by that story. It will be good for a laugh.

Time for Change

“I need a battery so I can tell what time it is”.

‘Is it for a clock?’

“No, I think it is closer to 3:30”.

Sad Truth

It is a sad world when telling the truth gets people in trouble. The governments are trying to control the internet so they can determine what is ‘disinformation’. It will be anything that opposes their lies and narratives. This is straight out of Orwell’s 1984. You should read it.

Sadly many doctors, researchers and journalists have been removed from their jobs and called conspiracy theorists for questioning the obvious inconsistencies in the

garbage coming from the government and media.

Where We Were

The page 6 photo shows Rocky and Drew checking out one of our local mountain lakes for some open fishing water. It looks like another week or so at this lake.

Frank Slide

On April 29 they will be commemorating the 120th anniversary of the Frank Slide (1903). 110 million metric tonnes slid from Turtle Mountain, burying much of the community of Frank and tragically killing 90 residents.

I have driven through there many times and it is quite the sight to see all the huge boulders piled up.

Winter Kill

A friend said they were at Larchwood Lake last week and they saw a few dead fish along the bottom. That generally means winter kill. Too bad as that is a beautiful lake for camping and fishing. Fortunately we have many deeper lakes around that will be full of thriving fish this coming season.
