Fishing Season
If someone from Ziploc could contact anyone in the cereal business, that would be great.
I am just a bit excited. The ice will be off most of the lakes in a short while. The fish are very hungry right now and love when the water opens up and some insects begin to move around. I suppose it is time to get the boat tuned up a little bit to prepare for the season.
Free Food Pantry Another good week in the Pantry. I had a friend moving away that donated some food and another gentleman came by with food from his grandmother’s place to donate. It is always nice to see some different things in the Pantry. You are all helping a lot of people. With all the prices continuing to rise, the Pantry is getting even busier. You can add to the Pantry at 1313 10 St. Invermere. It is a cabinet that sits there 24 hours a day for anyone to use. Canned goods are wonderful and lately I am seeing bread, baking and other treats in there. I am sure the patrons really appreciated that stuff. Giving feels great and giving anonymously

Lifting Mandates I believe that B.C. catches up with the rest of the country on mandates being lifted this Friday, April 8. Many people have been discriminated against by many businesses for many months now for no reason as the vaccine does not even slow the virus down. I believe a lot of folks have figured out that they don’t really need to go out as much as they used to. A lot of lifestyles have changed.

Pay It Forward Meals
3. Neptune
Do not go hungry folks. There are many hard-working people in the valley who are considered the ‘working poor’. All of their income is spent on bills in order to survive which leaves very little for food. If you are needing a meal, please stop in at Kootenay Coffee Works and ask for a ‘pay-it-forward’ meal. They have been collecting donations to cover the cost and the budget is there. I know that pride is a tough thing but starvation is worse. Please ask for help if you need it.

Last year’s garden was a seat-of-the-pants scene where I just randomly planted a bunch of stuff to see what grows. It worked quite well but I could have improved on a few things. I am hoping this year will a bit more organized. I am planning on actually writing down my planting dates along with the expected harvest date. Some things grow much quicker than others and some veggies like to get started right way in colder weather. Turnips and some lettuces like early starts. I want to surround my whole garden with peas. They can climb the fences. I love fresh peas more than most vegetables. I will take the time to space out my carrots, beets and radishes a bit better this season. Less tomatoes this year as they are bad for the kidney thing but sure taste great. Cucumbers were great and I hope for bigger peppers. My corn turned out great so a bit more of that.
I see that I need to get some seeds going indoors right away. Riddliculous

So a couple more mandates will be lifted this week. I believe I will be allowed in a restaurant and into a few other places. It will be nice to know that as of April 8, I am no longer a threat to anyone else. It is rather absurd but hey, rules are rules. Whether they make sense or not. Sometimes I feel bad that I have openly written against the main narratives during the past couple of years. Being a ‘conspiracy theorist’ is a tough job these days. We lose a lot of friends as we stand up for what we believe is right. I mean, who could have predicted that ‘two weeks to flatten the curve’ would turn into vaccine passports with thousands of lost jobs and such? Just those ‘tinfoil hatters’. Personally I don’t want to be right. I want to try to inspire people to do research and speak up and advocate for themselves. Not just follow along with the crowds because that is comfortable. I admit that speaking out can be very uncomfortable. But it is because I care about the people in the valley and the country and the world (in that order, to be honest). This is a very loving, healing, giving place that has been pulled apart by ‘science’. Similar to families and communities everywhere. I want people to take a second look at things to be sure they are moving in the right direction. It is a bit of a ‘don’t shoot the messenger’ situation. I speak out because I care about all of you. Looking ahead, I think we shall soon see a 6th wave pushing a 4th shot. Maybe called ‘omicron stealth’ or something scary like that. It will be interesting to see what becomes of the universal basic income program that is coming in soon. The great reset. Anyways, good luck and good health for everyone would be a wonderful thing.

Watson’s Waddle Have you ever heard the expression, ‘dogtired’? We live it here. Yesterday morning Rob took Rocky and I (Drew) on a nice walk before dialysis. That gets us to settle for a couple of hours while he gets going on the machine. He puts on music for us in the living room also. A couple of his friends showed up so we were pretty stimulated with all the ear rubs and treats happening. Then Kootenay Kritters (Jen) showed up to take us for a quick walk. Rob thinks we need one every two hours or so (as long as he doesn’t have to do it haha). After a tour around the neighbourhood we ended up hopping into the Kritter car for a full day adventure with Jen. We ended up at a potluck barbecue, meeting lots of people and getting plenty of fresh air. We even met a few nice dogs. It was an exhilarating day for a couple of Bassett hounds. Did I say ‘dog-tired’? When we got home it was a quick bite to eat and then asleep on the couch for hours. Neither of us even moved. Rob actually had to wake us up for bedtime (he gets lonely). Did you know that Bassetts have the highest endurance of any dog breed? We are bred to hunt rabbits for hours on end. We are just also really good at resting to conserve our energy. Enjoy your week.

This is a technique for building a raised garden bed that is filled with organic material. It will provide a nutrient-rich soil for many years as the material decays. Fill the bottom of the bed with old rotting logs. Then pile on some branches, dead plants, mulch, grass clippings, old sod (upside down) and anything organic that will slowly rot. It is basically a selfcontained compost pile underneath the bed. Finish with compost and topsoil. Often the bed is piled up to a few feet high for easier harvesting. This technique was developed in Germany and is used around the world. It is an effective way to get many years out of the same bed with minimal digging up each year.

Peas Please I am pretty excited about my new plan for planting peas. I will be planting them all around the outer fence of the whole garden but I am also going to build some boxes along my neighbour’s fence. It will be easy to do as there is a trench along there. I love peas and last year I did not grow near enough. I ate them all as they ripened. I remember visiting my grandparents and picking peas for dinner. That is my target here. Peas everywhere.

The Bible Did you know that the Bible is the bestselling book in history? It has guided many people throughout time. The Bible is actually a bunch of books put together. It includes the Old Testament which goes over the relationship of God with his people. Then Jesus Christ is born and we enter into the New Testament which is all about love, kindness, healing and faith. It is a pretty ‘feel-good’ book until you get into Revelations. So where would you start with a new Bible? Most folks would begin in the book of Matthew or the Book of John. Combined with Mark and Luke, these are considered to be the ‘Gospels’ and ae stories told about the life of Christ. The book of James is also a good start as it is a short book (a few pages) and gives advice on how to live our lives. If you are interested in picking up a Bible and don’t have one, please contact me

Adulting No one ever really told me that as an adult I have to spend every day figuring out what to make for dinner that evening. On top of that are doing dishes and laundry. With my time on dialysis, I find it difficult to keep up with dirty dishes. Laundry is easier as I just have to buy more underwear so they are always clean hahaha. I neglected to mention the hassle of always needing money for rent, gas, insurance, bills and food. None of which seem to be getting any smaller. I have grown to love napping with my adulthood though.

My phone lies to me every day. It keeps forecasting rain that never really shows up. My lawn and garden would like a bit of moisture. I often wonder how they seem to think they can predict climate change (100% wrong up to today with all their models) and expect people to react and worry about it.

Where We Were
I am so sad that we live in a society where the authorities can just do whatever they want and never answer for it. They are basically a crime mafia that have control over the people. They have so many conflicts of interest and are all getting richer and richer while the average citizen is struggling more and more. New carbon taxes the same time that the parliament gives themselves a huge raise. Yeah, right. Save the climate by making them richer. My mother turns ninety-two this week. Happy birthday. I am in my sixties but I love the fact that if I was to go visit at Easter, there would be a chocolate bunny waiting for me and possibly a few hidden eggs. Parents never stop loving their children and treating them like young kids.
