Offensive

To allow sin around you is to sin yourself. I have drawn a bit of a line in this week’s issue. I have written a couple things that people are afraid to say as they will seem ‘offensive’ to a few readers. But hey, truth, honesty and love are what really matter out there. In my opinion, anyway.

Snow Golf

The Kinsmen Snow Golf tournament is this Saturday, January 14. This is an incredible event, unmatched by anything that I have seen.

They mark out 18 holes on Windermere Lake down near Kinsmen Beach to set up for a shotgun start, scramble-style golf tournament.

Your day of golf is totally dependent on the weather conditions. The balls can be bouncing on ice, burying in snow or anything in between. It can be warm and sunny, dark and cold or anywhere in between. Teams bring out atvs, etc. as ‘golf carts’. Some are pulling trailers with bbqs, fire pits, couches, chairs, music and more. Get your entry tickets at The Station Pub. The cost is $35/person and everyone gets a prize. Registration is 11 am to noon with

a shotgun start at noon.

It would be great to see this event fill up with fun-loving golfers this year. It is all about community.

Economic Crisis

“Do you keep your money in a bank or at home?”

Me, “Mostly in my memories”.

Rockies Hockey

The Columbia Valley Rockies have split their January games losing to Fernie and defeating Creston. That leaves them in second place, a single point back of Kimberley with two games in hand. A great season so far.

Coming up the Rockies host the Creston Valley Thundercats on Wednesday, January 18 followed by the Kimberley Dynamiters on Friday, January 20. They will also host the Golden Rockets on the Tuesday, January 24. All three games will begin at 7:30 pm.

U13 Hockey

Congratulations to the Invermere U13 Tier 4 hockey team will be hosting the provincials this year. Seven teams will be competing on March 19-22.

Free Food Pantry

We have kept this thing going for more than two years now, serving a large part of our community. The Free Food Pantry at 1313 10 St, has had a really busy holiday season, filling and emptying dozens of times. Thank you so much to the individuals who add food and to the Community Foundation for the grant. It has been well spent now.

Please donate folks. A lot of people are using this very casual program but it requires the support of the general community. If I could only find a few local businesses who were interested in helping with food security for the community, it would be fantastic. God bless all of those who have contributed and blessings also to those who have needed the hand up.

Riddliculous

What four-letter word is the same written left to right, right to left, or upside down?

Thanks to Pastor Frater of the Radium Christian Fellowship. He will be contributing some short, inspirational articles for The Valley Peak. Enjoy.

Tasty

Irish Toast: May you live as long as you want and not want as long as you live. French Toast: Cinnamon, eggs, milk, bread and maple syrup.

A New Year, a New Start, a New Hope.

Proverbs 3:5,6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.” If God is going to show me which path to take, I think I want to take it.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 tells us “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.”

We are being asked, to “trust in the Lord with all our heart”, and to look for Him wholeheartedly. When we do, He will show us the path, which will fulfill the plan He has for us.

Robservations

Happy New Year folks. I hope the holidays went great for everyone. It was a quiet time for me as dialysis never stops. As for resolutions, I am pretty much sticking with last year’s plan of continuing to tell my truth. I am too old to worry about offending snowflakes.

I will question the ‘science’ and the ‘experts’ paid to push the propagandas. I will continue to believe in males and females and that God made us as we should be. Men cannot have babies. Pronouns are a joke. I will not treat corrupt politicians, health, education and justice systems with any undue respect. I will respect God and try to move closer to him.

I will not comply with any unreasonable mandate ‘for my safety’ or to ‘protect grandma’. All Lies. Imagine putting on a mask while standing in a restaurant and removing it while sitting and believing that is for safety rather than blind control. I will not let someone pushing lies have any authority over me. I will speak up for what is right and good, and stand up to wrong and evil.

I will hold my head high knowing that I have done my best to inform my community of different narratives than the brainwashing. I will not go to a ‘re-education’ camp or take an experimental jab or agree to a digital ID. I will stand. I will not succumb to unreasonable fear. How about you? Have you had enough of a taste of tyranny and communism yet? Will you just comply with whatever anyone on the television tells you? Or will you put on your armour with me?

I Identify

I identify as a conspiracy theorist. My pronouns are ‘I/told/you/so’.

Ads Needed

The Valley Peak has some ad space available right now. Ads are only $25/week and are seen by a lot of valley residents. It has been a tough couple of years trying to support the Valley while writing obvious truths against the criminal covid narrative. So many truths are coming out lately but the general population is very scared to face them. Remember who has warned you versus who has pushed you forward.

Thanks

Thanks for reading this issue of The Valley Peak. I hope we all have a great year.

Watson’s Waddle

Happy New Year everyone. The hounds are alive and well. Thriving actually. We had a fun and healthy holiday season with lots of walks and even more treats. We met a few new doggy buddies with Kootenay Kritters while ex-

Socializing with other dogs is pretty important to us. That silly fence keeps us from visiting with so many passerbys. I am not a big fan of leashes. Neither is Drew. We try to walk a lot around our neighbourhood where we know and get along with all the dogs. Sometimes we come across dogs with owners that fill with anger and negative energy. We don’t always meet those dogs. They are not allowed to be social. It is interesting how everyone lives differently. As dogs, 95% of the time we just quickly settle who is in charge. I have learned a lesson or two but have also made a thousand friends. One of the advantages of walking different wilderness trails is we get to free wheel a lot more. It is fun. Where Rob is playing with his ‘shelter’ thing, we get to roam and explore for hours. It is like a new backyard but it is all natural and beautiful. We have enjoyed being around the fishing holes as well. Lots of room to run around.

What Year Was It?

There were plenty of firsts. The first canned beer was sold, the first paperback novel was published by Penguin, the first Gallop poll took place, the first pair of male briefs were sold by Coopers, the first major league night baseball game took place, the world’s first parking meters were installed in Oklahoma City, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers were the first Western team to win the Grey Cup and Amelia Earhart was the first person to fly solo across the Pacific Ocean. What year was it? See page 7.

Bonspiel on the Lake

One of the biggest recreational sporting events of the season in the valley is coming up on next January 20-22. The Lake Spiel hosts 64 teams for three days of curling on the ice down near Kinsmen Beach. The spiel sells out every year with a huge waiting list but it is still an incredible event to go down and watch. The Invermere Legion will be hosting a warming hut with a great menu of hot and cold food and drink items.

Curling begins at 4 pm on Friday and goes deep into the night. The last teams will leave the ice at about 1:30 am. The finals are at 3 pm on the Sunday.

Ice conditions are crazy for curling so this is a great event for all skill levels. It is uplifting for rookies and humbling for the experienced curlers. It is awesome.

Lots of volunteers are needed as this is the top fundraiser for the Curling Centre. Stop in and see if you can help.

Canadian Sports Trivia Answer

The Toronto Maple Leafs were once known as the Toronto Arenas and the Toronto St. Patricks.

Fish Tales

Sadly I have only been out a couple times with very limited (skunked) success. It is tough to take as People used to come up and ask me what I was doing that worked so well. No one told me that kidney failure affected fishing success. I might have reconsidered. Have a great winter.

On The Lake

The ice shack village down by Bayshore condos is pretty extensive this year. That is mostly because it is pretty easy access to the ice down there.

There are some skating rinks cleared in the area as well as in many places on the lake. We are very lucky to have this as a venue.

Please respect the lake. Clean up after yourself, your friends, your neighbours, strangers and your pets. Remember that anything you leave on the lake will end up in the lake when things melt. Thanks for caring.

Golf History

An archaeologist discovered remnants of golf clubs in the Amazon jungle. He discovered a tribe that had been golfing hundreds of years ago.

He asked an elder of the tribe why they had given up golf that long ago.

“We just couldn’t afford the green fees.”

Longer Days

We are gaining a tiny bit of daylight every day right now. It grows very slowly at first and then gains more and more as summer approaches. It is something to celebrate.

Wet Newspaper

The fireplace in my living room is a wonderful thing for heat. It makes thing pretty cozy.

But the glass windows on the front were a really dark, thick black that I could not see through. It was hard even tell if there was a fire in there.

A friend suggested wetting newspaper and scrubbing with it so I tied it. Amazing. I didn’t have to rub very hard and now the glass is clean again.

Bushcraft

As you know I have been studying bushcraft survival as a hobby. It is a moot point as I am stuck on dialysis but it it’s fun. So for Christmas an amazing person gave me a bushcraft machete and hatchet set. I have been looking for an easy location to play around a bit.

I have found a nice little spot and have started to build a little emergency shelter. Due to my health and weakness it is taking a while as I tire out quickly. But it is taking shape as a very simple set up, I am hoping to do am overnighter this spring. I am also planning a fancier ‘dugout’ style shelter in another location. Just for fun.

It Was That Year

(From page 4) In 1935, the Bank of Canada was established, Elvis Presley was born, Alcoholics Anonymous was formed, Babe Ruth hit his 714th and final home run, Porky Pig debuted with Looney Tunes, and the first Volkswagon Beetle was produced. Also, the average new home cost $3,450 and the average annual income was $1,600. The good old days.

Death

Lots of sudden deaths and ‘unknown causes’ happening lately. Insurance companies are listing up to 80% increases in excess deaths. ‘Experts’ are bewildered trying to solve it. Is it climate change? Racism? Soda pop? Winter? They only know one thing, it can’t possibly be related to the jab.

Time to Connect the Dots

They are so close together that they are almost touching. Open your eyes and be honest about what you actually see. Stay away from the news.

Draining

My new favourite term is ‘mental gymnastics’ referring to the thought processes people go through to try to pretend some things make sense.

2023 Predictions

Those conspiracy folks pretty much called everything right last year so I have asked a couple tinfoil hatters about what we might see this year.

Obvious economic crash with insane inflation.

Planned food shortages. The Kraken and other scary sounding variants.

Insane energy prices caused by government policies.

More and more taxes to ‘change the weather’ (wealth transfer from us to authorities)

Farming crises (again gov’t policies). Personal climate carbon allowances for us peons.

Compliance to the Great Global Reset. Pedophilia will be normalized with more and more kids’ drag story times and drag shows. I don’t care what anyone’ personal life involves but leave the kids out of it. (And sadly I will make some people angry writing that). Clown world. What are you expecting for 2023?

Where We Were

The page 6 photo shows me and the hounds hanging out at a random shelter thing in the bush. I believe it is called Armaggedome.

Cozy

My home has a wood stove in the basement and Carl downstairs keeps it going. But it is a big old house and the heat does not distribute upstairs very well. So lately I have been lighting the upstairs fireplace. It is wonderful. Warm and cozy. The dogs really seem to love it.
