When and why was the first NHL All Star game held? (Answer on page 5) March 17-23, 2022 Volume 20 Issue 11 St. Patrick’s Day This Thursday, March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day. Here in Canada it is basically a celebration of everything Irish. Make sure you are wearing something green for good luck that day. Lots of pubs will be dyeing their beer green to help celebrate. Enjoy whatever you are doing that day. No dialysis for me so I am lucky that day already, woohoo.

Spring Equinox The Spring Equinox is the first day of spring season and occurs when the sun passes the equator moving from the southern to the northern hemisphere. The North Pole begins to lean toward the sun again. Day and night have approximately the same length. Spring Equinox is always near 20 March. This year it is at 11:33 am on Sunday, March 20.

Luck of the Irish Did you hear about the man who found a four-leaf clover in a poison ivy patch? He had a rash of good luck.

Fish Bus Orion’s Seafood Bus will be here next weekend, March 26 and 27. I am not sure

where he will be locating as his previous spot is under construction. If you have a spot that you think might work please let me know and I will pass it on. I really enjoy his high quality seafood.

Rockies Hockey A fantastic season and strong playoff performance by the Columbia Valley Rockies this year. They finished only one point behind the Kimberley Dynamiters in the regular season. They defeated the Fernie Ghostriders in the first playoff round and went six games against Kimberley in the next round. I believe they had some great fan turn out (I was unable to attend), especially through the playoffs. Congratulations and good luck to the Kimberley Dynamiters as they go into the next series with home ice advantage over the Nelson Leafs.

This pantry thing is such a mixture of joy and sadness. There are times when I fill it up and it is empty 15 minutes later (I think there are a few people living in sight of it that might take a bit of advantage but if it helps them out I guess that is okay). But other times I show up to fill it and it has been filled by someone with a way better imagination and budget than me. That fills me with joy. I see a few high school kids cleaning it out on occasion and hope that they need the food. But it is not up to me to try to judge or control any of that. A huge thanks to everyone who donates to the Pantry at 1313 10 st.in Invermere. It has become way too much for me to handle. It has also opened my eyes to how much and how many people are struggling in our community. It is definitely too much for me to handle on my own so I appreciate anyone putting items in there.

Pay It Forward Lots of ‘working poor’ in the valley right now. We work our butts off just to pay bills but have very little left over for food even. If you are needing a meal, please get up to Kootenay Coffee Works and they will set you up from the ‘Pay It Forward’ program. Please don’t be shy or embarrassed to the point where you are starving. Anyone that is eating at Kootenay Coffee Works is welcome to donate to the program. They have a jar near the till. The food and service are great there.

Neighbourly Dear Bob: I live next door and have been riddled with guilt. I have been taking advantage of your wife day and night when you are not around, sometimes more often than you. I don’t get it at home but that is no excuse. I am sorry and promise to stop. Bob was furious until the next note: Damn spellcheck. I meant ‘wi-fi’.

I never really thought that hate mail would be a part of my life. When I first took over The Valley Peak I received a note asking what the purpose of it was and that I was killing trees for no reason. It took me a while to sort through that in my head. I was new at this. But now things are quite real. I can’t quite understand the mentality of some folks. Really, if you don’t like reading The Valley Peak, that is okay. Just leave it on the shelf. I am aware that much of what I write is strongly against what you have been conditioned to believe. I also used to believe that the government was for the betterment of the people and that the news was full of true information that I needed to know. But now I question that as so much of it is so obvious and it is way too much work to just ignore it. A couple messages were a bit bizarre, basically wishing I would just go away and die. Strangely, no mask, no vaccine and very immune compromised and somehow I am still here. Who would have thought? I much prefer the other messages that stroke my ego. This week was incredible with phone calls, emails and street stops with people thanking me for being brave enough to write about the Pfizer data release. I also get lots of messages thanking me for open discussion about my health issues and issues with our healthcare system. Many people have experienced a lot of problems with their health and the services they have received but are afraid to say anything. That should change some day. I know that my previous lifestyle has put my health where it is but I also know that at least 10 misdiagnoses and medical errors have put me much deeper into these issues than I need to be. Imagine being itchy all over your body from toxins due to kidney failure but having the doctor suggest a new shampoo. Simple bloodwork would have changed everything rather than me ending up crashing into emergency in critical condition. Please rest assured that I am not trying to endanger anyone’s health but I am worried that folks might not have the information they need to make informed decisions. Obviously I believe our immune systems are pretty strong and can defeat most viruses (like 99.9%). That was a long Robservation.

Watson’s Waddle We really wish that Rob had more hands. Both Drew and I (Rocky here) get jealous of each other when Rob is petting us. I want both hands on my belly or neck or ears. It feels fantastic and I can tell you that Drew feels the same way. A human’s touch is so full of love. We love it when we are out walking and we meet people who want to pet us. Rob always thanks them and says something about him not having to pet us as much later. That is such a fib. All we have to do is look at or sigh around him and he is there loving us up. We have been mentioning disgusting dog poo everywhere while we are out walking (even though our yard is the worst right now) but there is another thing out there that is just as disgusting. Discarded masks, full of human bacteria, are everywhere. You will see one in the ‘Where Were We’ photo on page 6. They are scary on people’s faces as well as I can’t always tell if they are a friend or a foe. A smile is so much nicer. We hope that everyone has an incredible week and that you all feel love and joy in your daily lives.

What Year Was It? The Beatles, then known as ‘The Quarrymen’ had their first recording session, Elvis was inducted to the army, John Diefenbaker became Prime Minister, the Avro Arrow had its debut flight and the first U.S. passenger jet flights began with a Boeing 707. The Hula Hoop, the TV remote control and the microchip were invented, the Great Chinese Famine began (30 million died), NASA was formed, Sir Edmund Hillary reached the South Pole and 14 year-old Bobbie Fischer became the U.S. chess champion. What year was it? See page 7.

Combined with a Social Credit System, we are poised on the edge of a crazy new world. ‘You will own nothing and be happy’ is the mantra of the people pushing all of this upon us. They are very open about it but for some reason, many people don’t seem to care. Research Bill C-233. Imagine it is 2024 and you are locked out of your electric car because you liked the wrong thing on Facebook last night. Eventually you will become a completely obedient, complying slave with no thoughts of your own. We will all be labour slaves, producing for the elite or removed from society. I know, just another tinfoil hat conspiracy theory because I have certainly been wrong about everything that has happened so far.

Advocacy I don’t want to fill the paper with my health issues but I will tell you this: I had a retired RN sit with me through my kidney clinic as an advocate and what a complete difference in how I was treated by my ‘team’. I felt like they were actually listening to my concerns without the usual bullying and disrespect. For the first time in 4 years I was pleased with the outcomes and decisions moving forward. Mask Mandates So Bonnie has allowed us to remove the masks. Not at 11:59 pm but yes at 12:01 am (2 minutes later). Hahaha. That is so cute. It is so nice to see some smiling faces out there. Thank heavens we have finally ‘flattened the curve’. Scientifically though, masks have failed every single study on protecting against a virus. They are about as effective as hiding in a cardboard box during a nuclear attack. I still see quite a few people still wearing them and you know what? That is okay. That is the way it should always be. Make your own decisions to best maintain your health.

Inversion We actually seem to be living in a clown world where everything is the opposite of what it should be. Our ‘authorities’ are pushing hard for this at every level. Standing for the flag is now bad, kneeling for God is bad, the truth is called misinformation, obvious lies are pushed as truths, complying is virtuous, free-thinking is bad, unsafe is called safe (vaccines, masks), boys are girls, girls are boys, human touch is bad, inflation is good and so much more that I can’t even mention due to someone being offended. It is a very hard world to negotiate around. I will continue to stand for what I believe is right and true on every level.

Nothing to See Here Strangely the ‘news’ papers seem to be missing a lot of real news. Did you know that Pfizer has now been removed from the New York Stock Exchange? Almost immediately after the release of their clinical trial data showing how dangerous their vaccines have been. Hmmm. That is strange isn’t it? It is very pathetic that you won’t read that in any other papers. I wonder when they will report the actual truth. They have the information, they just don’t seem to want you to have it. Sadly though, most people don’t want to know. But hey, free Ukraine.

book, just for you. The Bible tells you everything you need to know to live a joyful, compassionate, kind, forgiving, faithful life full of love for yourself and everyone around you. Would you like a Bible? You will be surprised by what you find in it. The Blessings Thrift Store in Radium has plenty of free Bibles to give away to anyone who wants one. They will be happy to help you out.

Where We Were The page 6 photo shows Rocky and Drew checking out a discarded mask. Where were we? Pretty much anywhere in Invermere but this was at the soccer fields.

It Was That Year

E-Bikes

(From page 4) In 1958, a house cost $12,750 and the average annual income was $4,600. The Peace Symbol was designed, Jamie Lee Curtis was born, the SS Edmund Fitzgerald was launched, the first Toyota and Datsun vehicles were sold in the U.S. and Visa and American Express were introduced.

Fuel costs will continue to skyrocket and the media will begin to push electric cars to save our climate and help with our daily living expenses. They are bit out of budget for many people. An E-Bike might be a solution for folks. They can cover lots of ground at a decent pace while still giving you some exercise and fresh air. I imagine all local bike shops carry E=Bikes and have the expertise to get you started. Definitely Elemental and Lakeside downtown are good places to check out.

Unsafe and Ineffective So with Pfizer releasing their trial data we can see that the terms ‘safe and effective’ are a complete lie. Yet the newspapers, television and radio as well as politicians (local, provincial and federal) still want to tell you it is safe and effective. At what point does that become criminal negligence? I don’t think I would be out there repeating that stuff much anymore.

Treats I ordered some German food from the European deli. The sauerkraut arrived but the wurst is yet to come.

Human Touch Heals We all have the ability heal others. It is pretty simple really. As simple as a touch. Humans need touch, the same as pets. A hug, a pat on the shoulder, a handshake or really even just a smile that touches your heart. All feel great. All produce dopamine. All of them show love and love heals. Christ healed many people with just a touch. God is love. Show people that you love them and you can change their lives.
