Halloween is this Monday, October 31. I remember how much I loved Halloween as a kid. We would put a lot of thought into our costumes and venture out on our candy seeking quest. Nearly every house participated so there were amazing pumpkins carved all through the friendly little town. We would get lots of treats.
I loved Halloween in my twenties when I attended some great parties in Calgary. My favourite costume was an elephant that I could actually drink through the snout. It was funny.
I have always loved handing out treats as well. We always had full size chocolate bars and lived in some busy neighbourhoods. Things were more affordable back then.
Here in Invermere I am in a very quiet area. I will only get maybe 5 kids at the door.
We are into curling season in Invermere. You are invited to come down to the Curling Centre and check it out. They have openings for all skill levels. It is social and fun, a great way to take away some winter blues.
He was deaf so people told him he could never write music. He didn’t listen.
A tough weekend for the Columbia Valley Rockies as they lost 4 3 to Golden and 4 1 to Sicamous. The Rockies remain tied with Golden for second place in the division behind the Kimberley Dynamiters. This weekend they will be hosting the 100 Mile House Wranglers on Saturday, October 29 at 7 pm. Come on down to the ‘Eddie’ and cheer them on. It might be a good night to try out your Halloween costume. Just saying.
Andi Schoni has still been making and selling his artisan wood oven bread from his bakery at home. He is ready for a break. October 28 will be the last baking day until the end of November. Get your order in to stock up on his amazing products.
Downtown Trick or Treat Saturday, October 29, 3 5 pm.
This coming Monday is October 31, Halloween. It is an exciting time for many youth and adults in the community. It is always fun trick or treating and it is just as much fun checking out all the cool costumes as you hand out treats. Please be very careful on the roads that
I love the way my dogs moan and groan when I pet them. They are also very vocal if I mention a walk or a treat. Drew howls with joy. It almost makes me wish I was a dog. They have so few serious issues to think about. Show me some love and everything else falls into place. Food, walks and some loving. I could live like that. Humans should be more like dogs. Get our work done and spend the rest of the time enjoying everything. That would be wonderful, wouldn’t it? Instead we worry about producing income just to give half of it to the takers (government) who keep inventing new taxes. Taxes would be great if they were being invested back into the communites but instead they are being handed out to other countries for corruption and laundering.
I like how patient the hounds are for hours during dialysis. They do come in on occasion to seek treats. They will growl and howl until I give up a little snack. It is funny and endearing. They are also waiting for the dog walker to arrive. Then there is some excitement.
I should mention my appreciation for the folks who have been visiting and helping with the dogs. I am trapped on the dialysis machine for hours and you all make a huge difference in my stress levels. You have prevented many panic attacks. Anyways folks, be happy as often as possible and stand for what you know to be true. Following the masses to not stand out will never work.
My grandfather had a lantern that attached to his saddle.
It was the first saddle light navigation system.
I had an amazing wall of sunflowers in my garden this year. Some were 12 feet tall. They almost overwhelmed my garden and definitely affected my corn crop. I had planted them all from seeds of a single tall plant from the previous year. I still have a huge bag of those seeds and I am looking at thousands of new seeds,
So if anyone wants some sunflower seeds for planting next season, please contact me.
I would love ot see thousands of sunflowers all around the town next year.

venture up near Lake Enid. It is a beautiful area for dog walks. We had just gotten out of the truck and Drew and I went exploring. I am not sure why some dogs are drawn to rotten odours, but it seems that Drew is one of them. We came back to the truck and Drew was all proud and excited. Suddenly Rob was dry heaving. The stench was insane. Rob looked over and Drew was half covered in blood. Stinky blood from a rotting carcass or entrails or something. He was loving it. Weirdo. I don’t remember ever doing that. Rob and his buddy went through half a tub of wet wipes, both dry heaving a couple of times. It was kind of disgusting to watch. I stayed back a ways.
Sadly I ended getting a bath the next day, same as Drew. Bosleys Pet Store downtown has an incredible dog wash facility. Drew went first and did not like it. He howled for twenty minutes. I didn’t mind it at all and we smelled so nice for a couple of days.
I am an island country in the Indian Ocean, the fourth largest island in the World. Because of isolation I have some very distinct species including the black and white indri lemur. I am the World’s top exporter of vanilla. What country am I?
See page 7.
Radium Rotary Club would like to thank everyone who came out to Bingo last week. It was a great night with lots of happy winners. They will be running another one in November.
I don’t know how I still have dogs. They drop so much hair that there should be nothing left of them.
Please think of others as often as you can. The Free Food Pantry at 1313 10 St is open 24 hours for your donations. Thanks to everyone who has been helping.
Canada’s first national sport was actually Cricket. That has changed now to Lacrosse in the summer and Hockey in the winter.
I had a wonderful knock on the door last week. Anne had won a pork roast and it was too large for her so she wanted to give it away. She also purchased some potatoes, onion, pineapple, bananas and a couple chocolate bars to make it a nice full meal.
We found a worthy single Mom to pass it on to. She was very grateful for the gift as she has been struggling to make ends meet.
Thank God for people like Anne who care about others within our community. That is what life is about.
Why is it that the me who buys groceries is such a different person than the me who cooks dinner?
So I have had some serious complications with my leg where they removed a vein for my heart bypass. The incision opened up and it looked like a chainsaw wound. It was scary and painful.
It has finally healed enough that I can go without a huge dressing on my leg. Four months after the surgery and the bandage is gone. Woohoo. Showers for everyone hahaha.
I am at the 4 month mark since surgery so I am off for an Echocardiogram to see how the heart is looking. It was an Echo that found all my issues so of course I am a bit nervous.
I am also being sent for a driver’s license physical exam. They prefer if you don’t drive too soon after heart surgery in case there are issues. It is a hassle but good to be safe I guess.
(From page 2) Moss is a bryophyte and a stone is a conglomerate, therefore, ‘A rolling stone gathers no moss’.
I went with a gentleman to round up some firewood on the weekend. Sadly he falls the tree, bucks it and loads it. I am pretty weak so all I do is make sure no vehicle drives by while the tree is falling. That is easy enough. I can rake up the branches afterwards also.
Anyways his truck battery died and I drove around his truck to give him a jump. I thought I was running over a branch but it turns out it was his chainsaw. I broke the handlebar. Fortunately he had another saw with him and this one will be fixable.
I have broken enough things in my life to know that accidents are inevitable and you have to accept it when they do happen.
Have you ever wondered where the electricity is coming from? Like coal plants? Realistically not doing anything to save the environment but great for virtue signalling.
Bill Gates has become the largest farmland owner in the United States. I am not sue what he is up to but I know he loves to make money.
Dialysis takes a couple hours prep (with a dog walk) in the mornings. Then four and a half hours on the machine and an hour clean up afterwards. So if I want to be done by noon, I am getting up at 5 am or so. Ouch.
So I am going to bed at 9 or 9:30 every night and still struggling to get up early in the mornings. It is pretty dark out that early. Middle of the night sort of thing. But hey, that is my life every second day. Visit any morning you like.
(From page 4) Madagascar is a fascinating island country off the coast of Africa. The capital is Antananarivo. The climate is sub tropical with heavy rainy seasons from November to April.
Truth is important for a healthy mind. Obviously I don’t mind challenging things with my truth but I also don’t want to be that depressing, sad news guy every week. So I have to decide if I want to write about 96 Quebec doctors saying stop vaccinating children or the 30 young, healthy Canadian doctors who have died lately. How about all the pilots off work sick or the still births, menstrual issues, blood clots, myocarditis and more? It is all happening.
But folks don’t seem to want to dig in to this a bit. Their television tells them a different story. It is a shame.
I see that the temperatures are starting to drop quite a bit. The mornings are very chilly. It could be a cool winter. I hope everyone has been stocking up on firewood. We may see a bit of snow soon and that makes things much more difficult. Firewood ‘season’ will soon be over.
‘95% effective at stopping the virus’, was something we heard a lot of. ‘If you get the vaccine, you protect others’. ‘A pandemic of the unvaccinated’. All complete lies and now they are having to say it keeps you from getting too sick. Another lie with no way to measure it.
Thousands of doctors around the world have had success with Ivermectin yet Fauci says it is ineffective. Huge lie. Please question everything. The information is all out there.
The page 6 photo is tough to make out but it is Rocky and Drew watching me on dialysis. They ae hoping for a treat as I always take a couple in with me. Those are long mornings for the hounds.
There have been nearly 100 food processing plants that have burned down this year, including a couple that have had small planes crash into them. It seems like we will be seeing some planned food shortages.
A lot of preppers are stocking up on the things they need and love. It might be a good idea if you can afford to do that.
I have been healing up very well from the heart surgery in June. My colour has come back nicely and I am able to get out for some nice dog walks. A bit slow uphill but good overall.
But I am still very weak. I tried to help load firewood into a truck last week and found that I have no lifting strength yet. It was embarrassing. Obviously I need to work on some strength rebuilding.
A huge thanks to everyone who has been helping me get through all of this.
