Time flies. We are already at the Labour Day long weekend, the unofficial end of summer in the area. It has been a nice busy summer and I think most of the retail stores did well. I hope everyone has an amazing weekend that carries into a great September. Please enjoy yourself safely and respectfully. The Columbia Valley is an incredible place to spend a long weekend.

Keyboard warriors are an interesting bunch. Sometimes I take a bit of abuse on Facebook. Often it is from people I get along with in the outside world. Other times it is complete strangers. What is highly noticeable is the lack of actual information or debate I get from most of them. Many just call me names or talk down The Valley Peak. I still have a standing offer to anyone who wants to come sit during my dialysis and have a respectful debate. I do have to give credit to ‘Invermerepeter’ who does flood me with information that he has actually researched a bit. I have been receiving lots of emails of support from all over the country. Many folks randomly pick up the paper when they are visiting the beautiful Columbia Valley. They all enjoy the chuckles from the jokes and end up reading from cover to cover. Everyone likes having their beliefs confirmed and I am no different on that issue. It feels good. Vaccine passports are pretty much here and a few more folks are beginning to stand up. A lot of people believe that their personal medical decisions are their own to make and private. We have never asked for ‘papers’ for HIV, tuberculosis and hundreds of other spreadable diseases but somehow it is required for this flu, even though vaccinated people are as capable of spreading it as those pesky unvaccinated people. A passport makes no sense other than to control people. At least to me, anyways.

Canning Peaches So I canned peaches last week. It was a first for me. I partnered with a friend and we learned together. I am feeling quite proud. My Mom used to can peaches and pears and I never paid attention. We are planning on doing pears this week. It is exciting. We may even take on pickling a few things. I do love pickled carrots, beets and cucumbers.

GREAT GOLF FRIDAY FISH & CHIPS www.windermerevalleygolfcourse.com

I love to cuddle. Drew here, still filling in for that legendary Basset hound, Watson. Rocky and I are on a mission to fill a lot of hearts with joy and love. Rob has been an easy victim. He lets us sleep on the bed with him. It is funny as we all try to get optimum position on the bed. If I am the first up there I will always try to take Rob’s spot. Sometimes I even go for the pillow. But I also love to be warm and tuck under blankets. I have my own blankets on the bed and the couch. I will burrow right underneath. But I really love getting under Rob’s comforter. That is the ultimate for warmth. I think he likes it because I keep the bed warm during his bathroom breaks. I will almost lay right on top of him or at least put my chin up on his belly (it is really soft). I especially love when his friend Tracy is here. She is an amazing cuddler. Rocky and Rob end up on the couch bonding. I kind of chuckle at them both as they are afraid to move if they think I am in a comfortable position. I will play that up for as long as I can. I hope that all dogs do the same and I appreciate the dog owners who work to keep their pets happy and loved.

What Year Was It? The United States and others boycotted the Moscow Olympic Summer Games, Mount St. Helens erupted, John Lennon was shot and Alfred Hitchcock passed away. Ronald Reagan became U.S. President, Pierre Trudeau returned to office, Terry Fox began his ‘Marathon of Hope’, PacMan was released and camcorders were sold for the first time. What year was it? See page 7.

Sasha Eugene has completed her second walk to bring the spirits home from the residential schools in BC. On Monday she reached Invermere from Kamloops, close to 1,200 kilometers. Many folks joined for sections of the trek. The final day was from Brisco to Invermere. Sasha is connected to the planet and her one wish is that we all treat the planet just a bit better. She is an inspiring lady.

Confusing More and more info is coming out regarding vaccinated people spreading the bug as easily as unvaccinated. That makes it a bit insane that the unvaxxed are being discriminated against. If you actually believe that a healthy (asymptomatic) unjabbed person is a risk to someone who is vaccinated then you might be watching too much CNN or CBC. It does not take a Biology degree to realize that makes no sense at all. But people still seem to buy into it. Sad.

Firewood Help

6. Rank 6

CONSULTING

I want to give a shout out to anyone that is out there helping others with fire wood. It is a daunting task for many people. I have been blessed here with a few folks trying to help me out. We are about halfway there for this house. Lately Dave, Barry, Robin and Dennis have been amazing. We have also received help from Jerry, Werner, Curtis, Tate, Avery and Loin. It certainly takes a whole community to keep me warm. Thanks to all of you. We still could use lots more wood so if anyone is out there with an extra truckload I will be very grateful for any contributions. I just don’t have the physical strength anymore.

BC Businesses ‘Our’ government is pushing for mandatory vaccinations through ‘vaccine passes’. In other words, ‘show us your papers’ to receive non-essential services through private businesses. They are planning on trying to force BC businesses to enforce these communist rules. Most were willing to enforce mask mandates so it will be interesting to see who enforces vaccine passports. For those businesses interested in not enforcing segregation and discrimination based on medical decisions, check out the FB groups ‘BC Mass Against the Pass’ and BC Businesses against Health Pass’. You will find thousands of like-minded business owners willing to stand up.

Dog Treats Check out the Town & Country Feed Store up at the crossroads. They have a nice selection of pet food, including raw food for dogs and cats. Rocky and Drew love it. I mix it in with their dry food as a treat. Speaking of treats, they also have their favourite treats so it is handy for me to shop there. You will find plenty of supplies for horses and other animals as well. Check out their website for more information at invermerefarmandyard.com.

It Was That Year (From page 4) In 1980, a new house cost $68,700, a car $7,200 and the average annual income was $19,500. The New York Islanders won their first Stanley Cup, AC/DC released ‘Back in Black’ and many TV viewers tuned in to find out ‘Who Shot J.R.’ on Dallas.

Author Sharon Clark Sharon Clark first discovered how awesome nature is during her undergrad years at the University of Calgary. During her degree in Cell, Microbial and Molecular Biology she took Zoology and Botany classes where she discovered how amazing the natural world is. Then when she and her husband bought property in the valley 25 years ago, she experienced first-hand the beauty of nature. Yet, when she attempted to instill this love of nature to her children through books they would exclaim “boring mom!”. What a shame! So she has created books for kids that are not just educational, but also entertaining.

Sweet Memories September 7 was my Father’s birthday. He has been gone for several years now (seems like yesterday) but he has left his mark on me forever. He loved to stop and chat with anyone, exchanging energy with friends and strangers alike. He was a hard worker (I think I missed that part), honest, loving, forgiving, caring and more. Happy birthday Dad. I still totally think about you and miss you and I am grateful for all you did for all of us.

Sasha Eugene as she celebrates her Medicine Freedom Walk bringing the spirits home from the Kamloops residential school. Thanks Sasha for your efforts to increase awareness.

Who Do I Trust? I really do not know who to trust these days. Definitely I do not trust our government as they are on a mission to enrich foreign countries, pharmaceutical companies, their rich friends and more while bankrupting Canada. I don’t see anything to help the people. It is hard to trust medical ‘experts’ who show no real data but continuously generate numbers of fear and change policies daily, nearly none of which make sense. Simon says, “Stand up, mask up. Sit down, mask down’” while claiming that is science. I am pretty unsure about vaccine companies with no liabilities for adverse events. To me that is insane corruption at some very high levels. It is scary.
