Which Canadian athlete has won both the Stanley Cup and the Grey Cup? (Answer on page 7)

September 26-October 2, 2019 Volume 17 Issue 39 Oktoberfest It is all happening this Saturday, September 28, in the Lakeview parking lot behind the liquor store in downtown Invermere. There will be lots of fun this year including a huge circus tent with a magical entertainer putting on 2 shows. The tent then converts to a beer garden hosted by the Invermere Legion with two live bands going from 5 to 10 pm. You will also enjoy some games and a great vendors market. It will be a fun day for everyone. Make sure you take the time to participate.

Auto Repair I finally fixed that really annoying sound coming from my car. I opened the passenger door and pushed her out.

Trivia Time Woohoo. I love Wednesday Night Trivia at the Station Neighbourhood Pub. It is a fun night out where I find out how little I know about trivial things. Trivia starts back up this week, September 25 and I am hoping to be there. Teams are allowed up to 6 players at 3 each. The top team collects the cash.

Two rounds of 20 questions are presented through the evening. There is always some good entertainment, including music and humour, in the questions. I hope to not see you there as you will just be more competition.

Last Day of Season in Spilli The Spilli Station Café is celebrating a wonderful summer this Sunday, September 29 with another great day. We can enter to win a peanut butter cream pie that they will be giving away. Yummy. They have done a fantastic job at the Café this year. Thanks to all the customers who stopped in this summer.

Curling AGM Next Thursday, October 3 is the Invermere District Curling Centre’s Annual General Meeting. This is the time to find out what is happening in local curling this season and to get registered for your leagues(s). Curling is lots of fun and the Centre is the social center of the valley through the winter. 50 or 60 folks enjoy it every evening. The meeting begins at 7 pm. Curling AGMs are very organized and go quickly so we can all get to the snacks afterwards.
