Key Club Banquet. Don’t they look dashing!

President is proud :D Introduction – Page 1 Dear JMHS Key Club, Words cannot express how proud I am of you guys. Over the past year I’ve dreamt of becoming the President of Marshall’s Key Club and I was able to achieve that because you guys believed in my ability to lead. Now, it’s my duty to make sure that your choice was not a mistake. For the past couple of months, we were able to get close with one another despite the fact that we were off-track. While everyone else had school and saw their fellow Key Clubbers on a daily basis, we made the effort to come together and do what we do best. All our hard work in choreographing the dances, pitching in ideas, jamming out was nothing compared to the bond that was made over these sessions. Even though our practices always landed on the hottest of days possible, we toughed it out just for the sake of being the best. And I’m pretty sure other people would agree when I say that we were last night. All that I ever really wanted was to have a good time. That’s how much I love you guys. At banquet, you guys saw the awards that was given out to schools and officers. At the next banquet, I want our school and our own officers up there for most of the time. So let’s pour our hearts out into our service and work together as a club family to make that happen. From what was called “BJ & Friends” to “Sharkbait,” whatever name is irrelevant as long as the family dynamic is there. I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again. I’m proud to be your President and I wouldn’t have asked for any other Key Club out there. With much Sharkey Love

Baltazar Jonnel “BJ” Dasalla

The D3 Key Club Banquet would have to be one of the best nights of my summer. Seeing all these familiar faces looking their best and socializing together made me feel as if we really have grown into a family. The charisma and power from the performers, the speeches from our members and our fellow LTG, the comfort of everyone listening, the sadness, and especially the happiness, I will remember it all. And who can forget the fun time we had dancing all night long? Oh yes, jumping around, sweating, and singing along to the songs. I believe we have all reached this level of comfort that allows us to act like this. Overall, I believe this event has been an unforgettable and touching night to everyone. -Arianna Dela Rosa

Being part of Key Club is the most amazing high school experience. I’m pretty glad that this adventure is just getting started. Tonight was the definition of perfection. Everything just fell into place. The talent in all those performances. Our worries disappearing on the dance floor. Dancing the night away with the people I’ve grown to love. Starting a random conga line. It was just an amazing night. “Sharkbait, hoo ha ha.” -Chantal Mendoza

Member Recognition Member of the Month!!! John Marshall High’s Key Club proudly recognizes Jeffrey Padilla as Member of the Month. Jeffrey has proven to be one of the most enthusiastic members, taking part in every meeting and publicizing the significance of Key Club. He is always eager to attend various events and provide his musical talents. Receiving much gratitude for singing, Jeffrey voluntarily performed at both Awake-A-Thon and the D3 Banquet alongside two other members. He never fails to make new friends at every event and makes sure that everyone feels like they are a part Key Club. Jeffrey has attended all of the DCMs of the new 201112 term and has gone from a proud member to our newly installed Publicity Chair. There is no doubt in awarding this title to Jeffrey Padilla for the month of June. Written by Vice President Joela Canlas

Officer of the Month!!! John Marshall High Key Club would like to name Joela Canlas, our Vice President, as Officer of the Month for June 2011. During the month of June, Joela has certainly surpassed the usual duties of a Key Club vice president. Not only has she helped her fellow officers, but our members as well. While our president was busy with other Key Club duties, Joela helped to coordinate and take care of Marshall’s Key Clubbers during the Awake a Thon. She provided rides for our members so they wouldn’t miss out on events, such as volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. Marshall’s Key Club created a dance number for the banquet and Joela aided greatly with the choreography. Even when she’s on vacation, she took on monetary duties such as counting and organizing the budget. Joela Canlas has demonstrated a mastery in her Vice Presidential duties and all her work is greatly appreciated. Written by Vice President Michelle Menechyan
