Throwing Pies at our LTG and Presidents for PTP!

Thanks for the memories Now that summer has officially ended and the dreaded school year has started, we, as Key Club hope that we will not forget our summer memories with the events that we have done and the friends that we made during these events. Now, most of us are going back to that school mindset, we can’t let school, however, prevent us from making events and meeting up with other Key Clubs from other schools. School is what you make of it, and we should make school a chance to gain and retain new members! Have the new members attend the socials we will be having and the DCM’s! Nothing can separate us Sharkeys from each other! The bonds we made with people won’t disappear because we are busy with our academics. We need to find ways to foster those bonds and make them stronger! Erick Jason Reyno (Bulletin Editor)

The social at the Yosemite recreation center was a brilliant way to meet new people and raise money for PTP. Everyone participated in several events, from playing the piano/ukulele, playing chubby bunny, competing in a water balloon fight, to throwing pies at our key club officers. The ties between every school keeps getting stronger. – Amy Canlas

Getting into the school was a challenge since it was closed but it definitely was an adventure. As the day went on it was interesting watching my fellow Sharkeys compete against on another. Although we were under the summer sun, it was a great experience and I’m sure we all definitely had fun playing volleyball and basketball. Through the competitions it was obvious that we could easily work together well as a team. Later a few Sharkeys joined together to take the bus to Yosemite Park for a social. While playing fun activities like, pieing the presidents & LTG, waterballoon wars and chubby bunny competition, we were able to fundraise for the participating schools. I found this event to be a good way for all of us to bond and have fun while raising money to support Key Club. It was obvious that I created stronger friendships with a few of my fellow Sharkeys. I look forward to more events as we all come into this new school year. –Chantal Mendoza

Member Recognition Member of the Month!!! Marion Barleta was selected as Member of the Month for John Marshall High’s Key Club. Marion has definitely become a dedicated member since the beginning of the current term. He has demonstrated his dedication by attending a majority of events, both volunteer and social. Marion definitely makes Key Club all the more fun as he brings about his infectious enthusiasm. Over his summer break, he has devoted a substantial amount of his time to volunteering at various events: he willingly celebrated Independence Day at the Ronald McDonald House by serving food, helped organize at the ACTS Thrift Store numerous times and attended our very own beach clean up, among many other community service projects. Marion’s positive attitude assures his position as Member of the Month. -Written by Vice President, Joela Canlas

Officer of the Month!!! John Marshall High’s Key Club proudly appoints Baltazar Jonnel Dasalla as Officer of the Month, yet again, for going above and beyond in demonstrating such great presidential qualities. In addition to being Officer of the Month in May, he has definitely done everything in his power to oversee that every Key Club-related aspect runs smoothly by answering any and all questions, making sure all officers are doing their jobs correctly, making surveys in order to receive feedback and being present at absolutely all events. He has taken advantage of this summer vacation by continuing to volunteer even more than before, specifically at the ACTS Thrift Store. Since June, Baltazar has made numerous trips by bus to Pasadena every Tuesday and Thursday just to attend these volunteer sessions. Alongside all his volunteer work and dedication, he does his best to inspire others to join him, successfully portraying his love for Key Club. -Written by Vice President Joela Canlas
