Old MacDonald’s Farm The Reception children had a fabulous day at Old MacDonald’s Farm on Thursday. The children had a fun packed time, learning about a range of different animals including: a spotted eagle owl, meerkats, a llama, parrots, alpacas and wallabies. We were treated to a hands-on talk by the farm staff about various animals and the children were given the opportunity to ask lots questions. A big thank you to all the parents who were able to help on the day, and thank you to the large number of parents who volunteered: I am sure there will be lots of future opportunities. The trip allowed the students to use their BRIDGES habit of the week, ‘Bravery’, by stroking the animals, walking across the wobbly bridge and going on the roller coaster ride.

Year 1 Science Detectives The Year 1 pupils used their observational skills this week in science. They studied the various leaves around the playground using magnifying glasses and later did some observational drawings.
