If you have chosen Florence as your holiday destination, you will already know that however long you are going to stay, in any case, it will always be too short to reveal the wonders of Florence, a city full of monuments, art, museums, squares, markets, shops and unforgettable experiences.

As locals we are the ones who experience the many gifts of the city first, and therefore Elitism aims to be a collection of suggestions, a notebook, a smart guide, to make the stay in the cradle of the Reinassance a piece of your life that you will always carry in your heart.

3 · Ponte Vecchio The bridge connects the main part of the historical city centre with the “Diladdarno”, with artisan goldsmiths that once were butcher shops lining the path to the scenic terraces. The Vasari Corridor that crosses the river at Ponte Vecchio was built in 1565 to allow the Medici family to move freely between their residence (Palazzo Pitti) and the government palace.

2 · Piazza della Signoria Palazzo Vecchio, the seat of the city’s civil and administrative authority. Sight is surrounded by ancient marble and stone sculptures like Donatello’s Marzocco, the lion leaning on the coat of arms, and the Nettuno fountain. The most famous gallery in the world: Uffizi and the Loggia dei Lanzi that hosts the Perseo holding Medusa’s head.

Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral (Duomo), Campanile di Giotto and Battistero; with its white Carrara marble front, completed in the year 1436, the Duomo dominates the whole square and Giotto’s Campanile. The Dome, finished with red bricks, outstands everything around. The amazing marble casing “Romantic Florentine” style of the Battistero and the three bronze doors with the famous Porta del Paradiso.

5 · Piazzale Michelangelo and San Miniato A ten minutes walk to embrace absolute beauty: the city sight from Piazzale Michelangelo. Get lost in Florence 1 · Santa Croce Impossible not to stop to admire this gorgeous Church, that gives its name to the neighborhood. Walking the narrow streets and the small squares in the area you will find old workshops and small but precious museums like the Museo Horne and the Museo di Storia della Scienza. The first one displays a significant collection of paintings and sculptures collected by the art critic Horne itself, who lived there. The second is kind of a shrine to Galileo Galilei and hosts his telescopes and the lenses he used to discover the largest moons of Jupiter. Among the many peculiarities of this area, Michelangelo Buonarroti lived for a short period of his life right in Via Ghibellina. Time for the best ice cream in the world now, Vivoli!

2 · Santo Spirito and San Frediano Workshops, goldsmiths, restorers and antiques shops make this two adjacent districts the area of the city in which still lives the old Florentine craftsmanship tradition. A visit to Church of Piazza Santo Spirito, Piazza del Cestello and to the Church of San Frediano in Cestello is in order. Walking through typical cobblestone small alleys named like the old jobs once exerted in the streets themselves (via dei Tessitori, via dei Cardatori, etc…) you can reach Piazza del Carmine. Don’t let the unfinished front side mislead you!

Inside the Church one of the greatest Renaissance masterpieces, the Cappella Brancacci, especially known for the astonishing fresco “Expulsion from the garden of Eden” painted by Masaccio.

3 · Duomo and San Lorenzo San Lorenzo was one of the districts where the Medici family lived and where you can discover unbelievable beauties, strolling around the lanes maze. After the Duomo named Santa Maria del Fiore, the main city Cathedral, you can find the Cappelle Medicee, with their gorgeous marble and stone walls cladding and the first Medici palace, Palazzo Medici-Riccardi, at number one in via Larga (now via Cavour). 4 · Sant’Ambrogio Lively, dynamic and always hot! The Sant’Ambrogio area usually surprises first time visitors. The main square, with the Sant’ambrogio Church, is one of the oldest in town and it is one of the locals favorite night-life places because of the plenty of clubs, bars, bistros and restaurants all around. A must-see is the Sant’Ambrogio covered Market where you can taste some of the traditional Tuscan products like “la Pattona”. This district is also home to the Synagogue and the Jewish Museum.

5 · San Niccolò It is not a district, not even a block, it is Via San Niccolò! In the Diladdarno is one of the oldest streets, and takes its name from San Nicola di Mira to whom the Church of San Niccolò Oltrarno is dedicated. The area is rich of notable historical buildings like the Palazzo del Rosso from the 17th century, the Palazzo Demidoff-Amici and the Palazzo GianniLucchesi-Vegni that shows on its facade a plaque to the memory of the Russian director Andrej Tarkovskij and his Florentine days. At number 99 Palazzo Stiozzi-Ridolfi, attributed to Baccio D’Agnolo, and at 107 the decorated front side of Palazzo Nasi-Quartesi with paintings from the 15th century.

The San Miniato al Monte Abbey is one of the most beautiful Romanesque Churches of Florence and is sacred to San Miniato, one of the first Florentine martyrs. Once you exit the Church, there you see it! The magnificence and the heart of Florence... Forte Belvedere, Santa Croce, the Arno, the Bridges...with the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, Bargello and the Badia Fiorentina bell tower standing out among the breathtaking panorama and, north-side, the smooth hills of Fiesole and Settignano. Pappa al pomodoro Italian Taste

4 people ingredients: · 700 g of tomato purée · 40 g of Extra-virgin Olive oil · 350 g of Tuscan unsalted bread · 2 cloves of garlic · 1 small bunch of basil · 1 tiny pinch of sugar · Salt and Black pepper

Typical of the Tuscan tradition, Pappa al Pomodoro it's a genuine dish from the past. Made with peeled tomatoes, unsalted stale bread, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil, garlic and basil, this dish can be appreciated both in winter, served as a hot soup, and during the summer season, room temperature, as a complete quick meal.

How to make it: Cut the bread into thin slices, peel the garlic and rub it on the bread slices, to give the taste base.In a nonstick pan ease down the bread slices and pour the tomato sauce until they are completely covered. Before putting the pan on the stove add the sugar, to smoothen possible acidity excess of the tomatoes, and half of the olive oil. Cook over low heat for about 50 minutes, making sure the whole liquid boils off. With a wooden spoon softly stir until the bread reduces to a mush. Add now salt and pepper and fresh basil leaves. Serve poured in bowls adding Extra-virgin Olive Oil.

Santa Maria Novella Whether you come here by train, bus, car or airplane you will quite probably arrive in the Santa Maria Novella train station area so let’s start our one day tour from here. We begin with one of the masterpieces of the Italian Rationalism movement, designed in the ‘30s by the architect Giovanni Michelucci, the train station building. Right out of the station, you see the backside of the S.Maria Novella Church whose front opens up on a 14th century amazing historical square. All of the monuments and Churches in the city centre are inset into an alleys and ancient roads framework in which you can walk around, from the Duomo to Piazza della Signoria, to Ponte Vecchio.

“Diladdarno” area

Villa Bardini’s park With a five minutes walk from Ponte Vecchio in the “Diladdarno” area, on the left, in Via de’Bardi at number 1 red, you can reach Villa Bardini’s park where with a 10 Euro ticket you can access the park, the art exhibitions inside the Villa and also Boboli and Palazzo Pitti’s museums which are located a few hundred meters far. In the park there is a nice Coffeehouse where to take a rest and have something to drink while sitting in an ancient open gallery with a breathtaking view of the city.

(The Villa and the park are closed on Monday).

Stibbert Museum If you have kids with you, we recommend the Stibbert Museum (bus n°4 from the train station). Set during the 19th century it assembles weapons, armors, costumes, tapestries, and over fifty thousand pieces from the past. A guided tour is included in the ticket price. Kids will particularly love the “Sala della Cavalcata” that seats 14 complete equestrian armors.

Until the 10th of September to celebrate the renewal of the museum’s Japanese Rooms it will be also possible to see the exhibition “Robot Fever: Samurai in the Chogokin era”.

A monumental open-air museum

Giardino di Boboli But, if you like to tour different, we suggest you may get in the morning (opening time 08:15am) at the Giardino di Boboli and discover this unique “giardino all’italiana” which is a monumental open-air museum. The visit is going to take about three hours; once done you can enjoy a quick lunch tasting a Lampredotto sandwich, a very typical Florentine street food. In the area, full of artistic treasures, the Churches of Santo Spirito and of the Carmine, the first with a wooden Crucifix from Michelangelo and the second with the famous Cappella Brancacci, that has been a real school for many of the Florence Renaissance painters, including Michelangelo, and was painted by Masaccio.

Contemporary arts centre L. Pecci To escape the sea of people that usually floods Florence in summer and if you like to go for something unusual, you can catch a train to Prato and in less than half an hour get to the contemporary arts centre L. Pecci, Thursday to Sunday until midnight. A multi-purpouse space that hosts a multitude of events, like live art performances, exhibitions, operas and concerts, and many more. The building was designed in 1986

Impruneta Usually called “L’Impruneta”, it is known all over the world for its fantastic terracotta products. By booking in advance it is possible to visit artisan kilns to discover the ancient secrets of this manufacture and buy genuine handmade jars. Two important fairs occur every year; Festa dell’Uva on the last September’s Sunday, and Fiera di Santa Lucia about the second/ third week of October. The Santuario Mariano is very interesting just like Piazza Buondelmonti, surrounded by a quite notable open gallery from the 16th century.

Bagno a Ripoli At the time of the Medici, Bagno a Ripoli was also named “the garden of Florence” because of its wide green areas and its gorgeous country houses, some real Renaissance Villas, belonging to the old Florentine aristocratic families. To see: Oratorio di Santa Caterina and Spedale del Bigallo, established in 13th century, where an ancient refectory with its authentic coffered ceiling, the monumental kitchens and an old impressive stone-made sink can be admired. To visit also the Fata Morgana Fount, surrounded by a park that takes the name from a famous statue (Fata Morgana) carved by Gianbologna, that once was housed there.

Fiesole As one of the best preserved Etruscan towns, Fiesole deserves a visit. You can start from Piazza Mino da Fiesole, the main square, where the monumental Romanesque Cathedral, the ancient Palazzo Altoviti (now home to the episcopal seminary) and the city hall are located. The Roman Theater, in all its glory, together with the ruins of a Roman necropolis, old Roman baths, and some other late Imperial age buildings, can be visited with a short walk. Every year the Roman Theater hosts a rich summer season named Estate Fiesolana.

Greve in Chianti From the amazing central square Piazza G. Matteotti you can start a tour of some of the most famous wineries in the world. A great chance to taste incredibly good wines and visit unforgettable places. Among the many locations we suggest the castles of Uzzano, Canonica, Mugniana and Verrazzano, together with the village of Montefioralle and Santa Lucia a Barbiano, whose castle has been a strategic fortress in the battles between Florence and Siena. San Casciano Almost entirely included in the Chianti Classico area, San Casciano and its territory are mainly known for wine, oil and agricultural products. Touring this area, maybe on an old Fiat 500 (or why not by bike?), to find out how this small jewel is nestled into the gentle slopes of the so called “Chiantishire”, is something that you should absolutely do. Among the many places of interest, to discover the secrets of one of the most famous wines in the world, a special mention goes to the Antinori winery. To see in this area the Romanesque architecture of the Pieve of San Pancrazio and the Pieve of Santo Stefano, dating back to the 10th century, and the interesting Borromeo and Antinori Villas.

Prato Prato is a remarkably balanced mix between past and future. The city is known for the architectural and artistic goods of its historical old town like the Duomo, consecrated to S. Stefano and dated back to the 6th century. Well preserved inside the church, fresco paintings from Paolo Uccello and Agnolo Gaddi and, outside, the extremely beautiful external pulpit decorated by Donatello. The Church of S. Francesco and the Monastery of San Niccolò, both in the old town, also deserve a visit. Art lovers can visit one of the most contemporary museums in Italy, the Pecci museum, recently renewed (designed by Maurice Nio), is an artwork itself, with its similarity to a space-ship, that displays non-ordinary pieces of art.

Pistoia Pistoia is “Capital of Italian Culture” of the year. With a two millenniums history, in 2017 the city is celebrating 900 years of its “Statuto dei Consoli” (1117), the oldest extant body of legislation from the age of the city-states. Pistoia, established in the Roman period, is a city full of Romanesque and Renaissance pieces of art.

The medieval S. Zeno Cathedral hosts a silver altar of a rare beauty, that is sacred to S. Jacopo. You cannot miss the archaeological path of the Gothic Palazzo dei Vescovi’s dungeons and its ancient forge and the Palazzo Pretorio, which is famous for its inner courtyard where ancient magistrates insignia are exposed.

Viareggio Let’s go to the beach! Viareggio, the main city of Versilia, shows many architectural beauties with its Art Nouveau, Deco and Eclectic buildings, but the main tourist attraction here is the promenade. You can do some work out running, rent a bike or a tandem, take a walk on the beach, surf with locals at the “Pontile”. Now that you are relaxing, what about an ice cream or a drink at sunset? Infine le tre porte bronzee tra cui la celebre Porta del Paradiso, raffigurante le scene dell’Antico Testamento. ⋅ 2 Piazza della Signoria Palazzo Vecchio, sede del potere civile e amministrativo della città. Dominano la vista le antiche sculture in marmo o pietra serena, come quella del Marzocco di Donatello, il leone appoggiato sull’emblema, e la Fontana del Nettuno. La Galleria più famosa del mondo: gli Uffizi e la Loggia dei Lanzi custode del Perseo con la testa di Medusa. ⋅ 3 Ponte Vecchio Unisce il centro storico della città con il “Diladdarno”, con le sue botteghe artigiane - un tempo macellerie, oggi negozi di orafi che fiancheggiano la strada fino alle due ampie terrazze panoramiche. Il Corridoio vasariano fu costruito nel 1.565 per permettere alla famiglia dei Medici di rincasare dagli uffici amministrativi alla dimora di Palazzo Pitti.

Imperdibile il giro finale nel Parco, il Giardino di Boboli. ⋅ 5 Piazzale Michelangelo e San Miniato Cinque minuti di cammino per godere di una vista indimenticabile: Piazzale Michelangelo. Per raggiungere il piazzale, potete percorrere le Rampe del Poggi dal quartiere di San Niccolò. La lista dei brand è interessante e anche il negozio nei suo arredi, che spicca per un gusto minimal chic niente male. Da non perdere dopo aver visto una mostra di arte contemporanea al Museo La Strozzina, il negozio è proprio li accanto.

Perché qui si trovano anche tessuti e leathers vari di ottima qualità e.. last but not least, potete trovare anche oggetti che non sono stati praticamente mai usati e di marchi conosciuti.

Una bella Vuitton bag, come negarsela? Via dei Serragli n° 26 ⋅ Montgomery Montgomery Florence è stata una grande scrittrice britannica di meta Ottocento, ma in questa sede non stiamo parlando di lei. Un negozio in Via Pellicceria prende il suo cognome (forse inconsapevolmente?) e si distingue sul circondario per un’accurata collezione di capi esposti assai interessante. Si potrebbe affermare che è il tipico negozio dove, se trovi il pezzo che ti piace, esci sorridente e rimani felice per ben più di qualche ora. Sarete consigliati e serviti con eleganza e gentilezza..no, non sono caratteristiche poi cosi scontate per un commesso.

"Ema Bart" la linea di cosmeceutici prodigiosa e tutta naturale, prodotta a Firenze. Non se ne può fare a meno! "Pistolesi Group" non solo un salone di parrucchieri all'avanguardia, ma una totale remise en forme indimenticabile. E poi… Il miglior Bellini in città al bar della piscina del Four Seasons e i tradizionali panini al tartufo da Procacci nel cuore di Firenze in via Tornabuoni.

p. 26 ⁓ Get Lost ⋅ 1. Santa Croce - Non potete fare a meno di una sosta per ammirare la Basilica, da cui il quartiere stesso prende il nome e passeggiando per le viuzze e le piccole piazze scoprirete botteghe e musei minori come il Museo Horne e il Museo di Storia della Scienza. Il primo ospita una significativa collezione di dipinti e sculture raccolta proprio dal critico d’arte Horne, che visse qui. Il secondo è una specie di tempio dedicato a Galileo Galilei ed espone anche, i suoi telescopi e la lente da lui usata per scoprire i più grandi satelliti di Giove. Una curiosità? In via Ghibellina, al numero 70, visse per poco tempo Michelangelo Buonarroti. Un salto alla gelateria “Vivoli” per gustare il gelato più buono del mondo. ⋅ 2. Santo Spirito e San Frediano - Botteghe di artigiani, orafi, restauratori, fanno di questi due rioni, la zona di Firenze dove ancora vive la fiorentinità e l’artigianato. Oltre alla maestosa Basilica in Piazza Santo Spirito, una visita a Piazza del Cestello e alla Chiesa di San Frediano in Cestello, è d’obbligo.

Stradine acciottolate che portano i nomi delle professioni esercitate nelle loro botteghe (Via dei Tessitori, Via dei Cardatori) e poi Piazza del Carmine. La facciata della chiesa di Santa Maria del Carmine, incompiuta, non tragga in inganno: al suo interno si trova uno dei capolavori della pittura del Rinascimento, la Cappella Brancacci, famosa per uno dei tanti affreschi del Masaccio: la volta dell’Eden. ⋅ 3. Duomo e San Lorenzo - Affascinante, imperdibile e caratteristico. Il quartiere di San Lorenzo è stato sede delle dimore della famiglia Medici. Se dopo aver ammirato il Duomo avete voglia di fare due passi ancora, perdetevi nei dedali intorno, ci sono luoghi incredibili. Vi si trovano le Cappelle Medicee, con le splendide pareti rivestite in pietre dure ed il primo palazzo della famiglia, il Palazzo Medici-Riccardi, al n° 1 proprio all’angolo della Via Larga, oggi chiamata Via Cavour. Sant’Ambrogio - Vivo, energico e sempre attivo. ⋅ 4. Sant’Ambrogio stupisce chiunque lo visiti per la prima volta. Dominata dalla Chiesa di Sant’Ambrogio, vi si immettono ben sei vie. La chiesa di Sant’Ambrogio, è tra le più antiche di Firenze e la piazza antistante è un ritrovo notturno per i numerosi locali che vi si affacciano: ampia la scelta di ristoranti e bar. Imperdibile il Mercato coperto di S. Ambrogio, dove poter gustare prodotti della tradizione toscana come “la pattona” . Il quartiere è anche sede della Sinagoga e del Museo Ebraico. ⋅ 5. San Niccolò - Più che un vero e proprio quartiere, una via in particolare. La strada è tra le più antiche d’Oltrarno e prende il nome da San Nicola di Mira, al quale è dedicata la chiesa di San Niccolò Oltrarno. Diversi i palazzi storici da menzionare nel quartiere, come Palazzo Del Rosso, del XVI secolo, Palazzo Demidoff-Amici e Palazzo Gianni-Lucchesini-Vegni, sulla cui facciata una targa ricorda il soggiorno del regista russo Andrej Tarkovskij. La pappa al pomodoro può essere gustata sia in Inverno, servita come zuppa calda, che in Estate, servita a temperatura ambiente come piatto unico di un pranzo veloce.

Ingredienti per 4 persone: 700 gr. passata di pomodoro 40 gr. Olio Extra Vergine di Oliva 350 gr. pane toscano Aglio: 2 spicchi Basilico: 1 mazzetto Zucchero: un pizzico Sale e pepe: qb Come prepararla: Prendete il pane e poggiatelo su un tagliere per tagliarlo in fette sottili e abbrustolitele dorandole leggermente in forno a 200°. Prendete l’aglio e sbucciatelo, strofinatelo sulle fette di pane dorate per dar loro la base del sapore.

Procuratevi una padella antiaderente e sistemate le fette di pane al suo interno. Prendete ora la passata di pomodoro e versatela sulle fette fino a ricoprirle interamente. Prima di mettere la padella sul fuoco, spolverate il tutto con un po’ di zucchero, per togliere eventuali eccessi di acidità al pomodoro.

Fate cuocere per 50 minuti, assicurandovi che evapori tutto il liquido. Procuratevi un mestolo di legno e girate con cura per far sì che il pane si riduca ad una pappa. Aggiungete ora il sale ed il pepe e aggiungete le foglie di basilico fresco.

p. 36-37-38 ⁓ >> Un giorno a Firenze “Se hai solo un giorno a visitare la nostra bellissima città, ti consigliamo di non perdere tempo in lunghe code presso all’entrata dei musei, specialmente durante la stagione estiva.

La città stessa è un museo all’aria aperta “ ⋅ Santa Maria Novella Sia che arriviate qui in treno, autobus, auto o aereo, probabilmente approderete alla stazione ferroviaria di Santa Maria Novella: iniziamo il nostro tour di un giorno da qui. Cominciamo con uno dei capolavori del movimento razionalista italiano, progettato negli anni ‘30 dall’architetto Giovanni Michelucci, l’edificio della stazione ferroviaria. Proprio fuori dalla stazione, si vede la parte posteriore della Chiesa di Santa Maria Novella il cui fronte si apre su una piazza storica del XIV secolo. Tutti i monumenti e le chiese del centro s’inseriscono in vicoli e strade antiche in cui si può passeggiare, dal Duomo fino alla Piazza della Signoria, fino a Ponte Vecchio. ⋅ Villa Bardini’s park A cinque minuti a piedi da Ponte Vecchio nella zona “Diladdarno”, a sinistra, in via de’Bardi al numero 1 rosso, si raggiunge il parco di Villa Bardini dove con un ticket da 10 € è possibile accedere al parco, alle mostre d’arte interne alla Villa ed anche i musei di Boboli e Palazzo Pitti (che si trovano a poche centinaia di metri di distanza). All’interno dello spazio, potete trovare anche un giardino giapponese, donato dalla città di Kyoto nel 1998 e disegnato dall’architetto Yasuo Kitayma. >>Tre giorni a Firenze “Gli Uffizi, il Duomo e Santa Croce. Con tre giorni a vostra disposizione probabilmente vorrete prenotare almeno una di queste tre meravigliose fortificazioni d’arte e di storia..” ⋅ Giardino di Boboli Ma se così non fosse e avete voglia di fare un itinerario diverso, vi consigliamo il Giardino di Boboli, arrivando presto al mattino (apre alle 8.15) e scoprire questo “giardino all’italiana” di rara bellezza, un museo monumentale a cielo aperto.

Da vedere, su richiesta previo appuntamento, le fornaci artigiane presenti sul territorio imprunetino, per imparare i segreti delle lavorazioni e portarsi a casa un orcio lavorato a mano. Due sono le feste da segnalare, la Fiera di S. Luca, che si svolge ogni anno a metà ottobre, e la Festa dell’Uva, che si svolge ogni ultima domenica di settembre. Notevole il Santuario Mariano e la piazza Buondelmonti caratterizzata da loggiati della fine del Cinquecento degni di nota. ⋅ Bagno a Ripoli Ai tempi dei Medici, Bagno a Ripoli era chiamato “il giardino di Firenze” per i suoi spazi verdi e perché sede di splendide resedi di campagna, vere e proprie Ville Rinascimentali, dell’aristocrazia fiorentina. Da vedere: l’Oratorio di Santa Caterina, lo Spedale del Bigallo, fondato nel XIII secolo, al suo interno è ancora presente il refettorio con il suo soffitto a cassettoni, la cucina monumentale e l’acquaio in pietra. La Fonte di Fata Morgana, circondata da un parco che deve il suo nome alla statua della Fata Morgana, oggi non più presente, scolpita dal Giambologna. ⋅ Fiesole Considerata uno dei centri etruschi meglio conservato ad oggi, da visitare partendo da Piazza Mino da Fiesole, dove si trovano l’imponente cattedrale romanica, il Palazzo Altoviti (oggi sede del seminario vescovile), ed il Comune. In tutto il suo splendore, il Teatro Romano, perfettamente conservato, assieme ai resti di una necropoli, di terme romane e di alcuni altri edifici di epoca tardo-imperiale. Il Teatro è sede di una stagione teatrale e musicale estiva nota come Estate Fiesolana. ⋅ Greve in Chianti Partendo dalla bellissima Piazza Giacomo Matteotti, nel centro citta’, potrete farvi accompagnare nelle cantine piu conosciute al mondo per degustare vini indimenticabili e visitare luoghi incantevoli. Fra i luoghi d’interesse, post tour enologico, i castelli di Uzzano, Canonica, Mugnana e Verrazzano, oltre al borgo di Montefioralle e S. Lucia a Barbiano con il castello già roccaforte negli scontri cittadini tra Firenze e Siena. Dalla vicina Convertoie si gode poi un ottimo panorama. ⋅ San Casciano Compreso quasi interamente nel Chianti Classico, è rinomato soprattutto per la produzione dei vini, dell’olio e dei prodotti agricoli in generale. Un giro, magari noleggiando una vecchia Fiat 500 (o perché magari non pensare ad un bike tour) per visitare questo piccolo gioiello incastonato tra le morbide colline, è qualcosa Da Fare senza alcun dubbio. Tra i luoghi di interesse, non possiamo non citare la cantina Antinori, per scoprire tutti i segreti di uno dei vini più famosi al mondo. La Pieve di San Pancrazio, esempio di architettura romanica e la Pieve di Santo Stefano, risalente al X Secolo. Sempre per gli

appassionati di architettura, di notevole interesse Villa Borromeo e Villa Antinori. ⋅ Prato A 15 Km da Firenze, Prato: un mix armonioso tra passato e futuro. La città è infatti conosciuta per le bellezze del Centro Storico, tra queste il Duomo, dedicato a Santo Stefano e risalente al VI secolo, al suo interno sono ancora ben conservati gli affreschi di Paolo Uccello e Agnolo Gaddi e di estrema bellezza è il pulpito esterno decorato da Donatello. Nel centro storico da visitare la Chiesa di San Francesco ed il Monastero di San Niccolò. Per gli appassionati di arte? Il museo più contemporaneo lo potete trovare qui: Museo Pecci – Arte Contemporanea, di recente ristrutturazione (progetto di Maurice Nio) è un’opera fuori dal Comune, per la sua somiglianza ad una navicella spaziale, che ospita opere..fuori dal comune! ⋅ Pistoia Quest’anno Pistoia è la capitale della Cultura Italiana. La sua storia è lunga due millenni. Proprio nel 2017 si festeggeranno i 900 anni del suo Statuto dei consoli del 1117, la più antica raccolta di leggi dell’età Comunale, pervenuta fino ad oggi.

Fondata in epoca romana è una città ricca di monumenti sia romanici che rinascimentali. La Cattedrale di San Zeno costruita nel medioevo custodisce al suo interno l’altare argenteo (di estrema bellezza) di San Jacopo. Il Palazzo dei Vescovi, in stile gotico con sotteranei e fornace da visitare in un percorso archeologico imperdibile. E ancora il Palazzo pretorio, famoso per il suo cortile interno con tutti gli stemmi dei magistrati. È una città da scoprire, e merita tutto il tempo che vorrete dedicarle. ⋅ Viareggio Tocchiamo il mare con Viareggio. Città principale della Versilia, di notevole interesse sono le architetture in stile liberty, deco ed eclettiche di molti edifici. Ma non vi parleremo di architettura nel segnalarvi una visita a questa città. Vi parleremo del lungomare: dove poter fare allenamento correndo, noleggiare una bici e divertirvi in tandem, camminare in spiaggia o noleggiare una tavola e surfare con i locals al Pontile. Siete tipi più tranquilli? Che ne dite di un gelato alla crema o di un apertivo al tramonto? Se vi piace l’idea di esploare i dintorni, dovreste considerare l’idea di spostarvi fino al Forte dei Marmi e a Pietrasanta. p. 53 ⁓ Idea. Processo. Forma.
