WEEK 6 READING: SURFACES THAT CAN BE BUILT FROM PAPER IN ARCHITECTURAL GEOMETRY Question 1: What are the three elementary types of developable surfaces? Provide a brief description. (Maximum 100 words) Digital fabrication is the pinnacle of the modern technology while creating buildings. it is actually three dimensional modeling and visulization , which generative form finding, scripted modulation systems, thermal analyis, project managemnt and coordination, also file to file factory production. Digital fabrication has reolaced drawing with a paralled rule and lead pointed, but the shape of the buidling is still kept. It changed the form of two dimensional representations with three dimensional computer modelling and fabrication which allow architects to expand form, also the potential of construction.

Question 2: Why is the understanding of developable surface critical in the understanding of architectural geometry? Choose one precedent from Research/Precedents tab on LMS as an example for your discussion. (Maximum 100 words) 1. It is through folding that a three dimensional shape can be formed, and folding has advantages on economical part while creating the object. 2.It is also effectively while making a samll model to the final goal of creating a huge building, showing more aspects and details while creating a project. Also digital design is an basic and traditional object practice with folding.

WEEK 7 READING: DIGITAL FABRICATION Complete your reading before attempting these questions:

Question 1: What is digital fabrication and how does it change the understanding of two dimensional representation? (Maximum 100 words) Digital fabrication is the pinnacle of the modern technology while creating buildings. it is actually three dimensional modeling and visulization , which generative form finding, scripted modulation systems, thermal analyis, project managemnt and coordination, also file to file factory production. Digital fabrication has reolaced drawing with a paralled rule and lead pointed, but the shape of the buidling is still kept. It changed the form of two dimensional representations with three dimensional computer modelling and fabrication which allow architects to expand form, also the potential of construction.

Question 2: Suggest two reasons why folding is used extensively in the formal expression of building design? (Maximum 100 words) 1. It is through folding that a three dimensional shape can be formed, and folding has advantages on economical part while creating the object. 2.It is also effectively while making a samll model to the final goal of creating a huge building, showing more aspects and details while creating a project. Also digital design is an basic and traditional object practice with folding.
