Local Community Update
Count Down To Easter In preparation for Easter, the Churches Together in North Harrow have put up a very successful series of lectures during Lent. Lent is the time when Christians prepare for Easter by examining themselves during the six weeks leading up to it. Prof. Alan Millard gave 5 illustrated lectures on the subject of “Is the Bible Reliable?” Not only were these lectures well attended, but as each lecture was held in a different church building in North Harrow, people in the local community had a chance to interact and get to know each other better. This was a great opportunity for those wanting to explore facts relating to the authenticity of the Bible.
Over Easter the churches in North Harrow including Elmfield will be holding various services. Elmfield would be delighted to welcome you to their Easter Services which will take place as follows: Easter Services Fri 10th Apr—Good Friday Service held jointly with Rayners Lane Baptist Church (RLBC) at RLBC at 11.15am followed by a walk of witness for Churches Together In North Harrow. Sun 12th Apr—Easter Day celebration with children’s activities at 10.30am at Elmfield. Sun 12th Apr—Evening Prayer and Communion Service at 6.30pm at Elmfield.
In Need of Prayer? Elmfield church has various prayer sessions going on through out the week. If you would like prayers to be made for a particular issue, drop a note about it at the church letter box or hand it in at the reception between 9am and 1pm on weekdays with the necessary details. There is also a 10 day build up of daily prayer sessions from 21st May 2009 at Elmfield leading up to the Global Day of Prayer on 31st May 2009 to be
held at a venue to be confirmed that is expected to bring together over 20,000 people to pray for the peace and reign of God in London and the world at large. For details see http://www.gdoplondon.com/.
