In contrast to the new generation of creatives using film photography to explore an old form of creation, inspiration is formed from old age computer graphics and digital age demographics.

Much of the creative work we appreciate today, whether it’s music, film, or design, is created with the help of computers. But, rather than the master machine dynamic, what would a collaborative relationship look like? How do computers influence our creative flow, and how can we leverage unpredictable output towards creative results?

Showstudio by Nick Knight thrives off the idea of digital impact and the relationship between creativity and computer graphics

When you think about computer art there is this instant thought of Adobe Creative Cloud, then how is this shared to the world? Social media. The open theme of the creative computer generation isn’t new as seen in trends such as Vapourwave and Showstudio. The aesthetic comes from a slightly unfinished feel with dramatic makeup and vivid colours that contrast in a dark lighting set up. CLOSE

In a world where fashion photography has no limits, the idea is to take this principle one step further by using graphic design to further convey a message. SOCIAL STANDARDS:// Instagram brows to snapchat filters, this project aims to explore how interests and sub cultures through social media have an influence on the mainstream and are seen as a new direction for fashion and media. PIC N SWATCH:// Unfinished faces and vivid colours, this project drives an interest in photographic manipulaton and how creatives use the software to generate a commercial outcome. DIGITAL WAVEZ:// VHS and chill? Walkman but don’t walk? This theme is based around a Digital Wave trend for 2017 by WGSN. The colour themes explore the classic 1980’s culture with a modern twist. F*CKED UP:// Based around a youth narrative and gel lighting in a distorted enviroment with styling inspiration from Alexander Wang. All projects have a fashion film ready to watch on www.emmalouisecarney.com
