he academic program of the University has been triumphant in many activities. Students who labored in their respective academic fields and co-curricular activities have brought honor to the University. High passing rates in various licensure examinations were recorded. The continuous increase in the enrolment has been prompting and motivating the university to enhance its curricular programs, improve its facilities and develop fully its working resources. Moreover, the programs of the University are gradually tailored to fit the requirements of ASEAN standards through accreditation and quality assurance activities.

REBD RESEARCH EXTENSION AND BUSINESS FOR DEVELOPMENT
T
he University maintains a high reputation of its role in developing technology and innovations to push the economic growth of the province, the region, and the country as well. Various community services are extended to partner communities to offer them livelihood opportunities. The REBD has four major components, Research and Development Program, Extension Program and the Business Affairs.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT The R &D Program is committed as a strong motivating force and partner of community development in the local, regional and national fronts. Its program thrusts are anchored on citrus, banana, rice and vegetable crops, fish, native pig and chicken, and livestock, forest resources management, organic farming, farm mechanization, industrial technology, information technology, social sciences, educational management and administration, and a strong advocate on gender and development. Faculty researchers from various colleges are actively involved in the research and development that lead to the completion of various researches. Vibrant R&D activities and accomplishments are backed by the attendance of NVSU researchers in regional, national ,and international fora where they have presented their respective research outputs.
In 2015, the R&D program maintained three programs and 15 projects.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT Research and Development Centers and Units
Citrus Resources Research and Development Center (CRRDC) The center caters the R&DE needs of the citrus industry of the region. CRRDC aims to provide strategic S&T interventions for enhancing citrus production in Cagayan Valley. Through granted financial assistance from various national agencies such as PCAARD, CHED, and DA-BAR, the CRRDC is on its way to be a National Center for Citrus R&DE through HB # 4509 approved in 2014, sponsored by, the then Congressman of the lone District of Nueva Vizcaya, now the Governor, Hon. Carlos M. Padilla. In 2016, the CRRDC was able to generate a
P27M grant
from the Philippine Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) for the project Citrus Resource Research for Development in Cagayan Valley (CRR4DC) catering to four major project as follows:
Project 1. Value Chain Analysis of Citrus in Cagayan Valley Project 2. Gene Bank and Data Base Profile of Citrus Genetic Resources Project3. Establishment of Quality Planting Materials Production System for Citrus in Nueva Vizcaya Project 4.Development of Pest and Disease Management System for Sustainable Citrus Production in Cagayan Valley Furthermore, the center maintains the following: - Foundation and Budwood Block for the production of at least 10,000 disease-free citrus planting materials - Technology Business Incubation for citrus processing - Molecular-based Disease Indexing Laboratory for citrus and banana
nueva vizcaya studies The Nueva Vizcaya Studies is another R&D arm of the University that focuses on social science researches. Its primary function is to develop R&D activities that focus on full swing and complexity of norms and cultures across all human history in Nueva Vizcaya. It covers the documentation of cultures, norms, and beliefs that will lead to the preservation and transfer of these to future generations. It also serves as an information hub of Novo Vizcayano culture materials and facilitates recuperation and promotion of Vizcayano identity.

Center for Environmental Resources Management for Sustainable Development (CERMSD) This center caters to R&DE programs, activities and projects (PAPs) that will address sustainable development, resource utilization, protection, and conservation of the environment through development planning, technology implementation, research and capability building. On-going projects in the center include a vermicomposting for the production of organic fertilizers, and production of forest tree seedlings. The center also extends technical assistance to LGUs and other communities on environmental conservation and management.

extension program The University Extension program continually makes important and distinct contributions in the provision and delivery of high quality services for the benefit of the communities in Nueva Vizcaya through the implementation of practical and adoptable technical and technological projects, activities and programs (PAPs) sustained through effective partnership with government and private organizations.
Impact projects are implemented such as the mushroom development project, DOST Academe Technology-Based Enterprise Development Project (DAT-BED), Agricultural Extension Outreach Program-Student Assistant Fund, Fruit Tree Seedling Production (Nursery Project), Commercialization of Shiitake and Product Development, Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (DOST- CEST) and Building Resilience and Rural Livelihoods Program for the Province of Nueva Vizcaya. The University implemented the project Teknikal na Kaalaman, Kasanayan, Kagalingan Para sa Kabuhayan, a collaborative project of with the LGU of Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya. This project aimed to providE technical advice and trainings to unskilled out-of-school youth, unemployed adults and housewives in the adopted barangays and in nearby communities, and to assist them establish small or medium scale LIVELIHOOD enterprise. Through various PAPs, the extension program is responsive to the needs of the various communities in the 15 municipalities of the province through meaningful community engagements to foster rural development. The program also provides assistance to the Gawad Kalinga residents in various areas of the province. Several of the abovementioned projects are funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR) and other government agencies. Other projects are implemented in collaboration with the provincial and local government units of Nueva Vizcaya.

These active entrepreneurial projects cover the production of commodities such as rice and rice seeds, goat and sheep, buffalo and cattle, swine, tilapia, mushroom spawn, vermicompost, fruit tree planting materials, organic vegetables, processed citrus products (wine, jams and marmalades soap), banana, coconut seedlings, fruits and the like. In the 2016 SUC Levelling process, the University recorded a total score of 39.31 equivalent to a Level IV status in the regional evaluation committee (REC) and was officially endorsed to the national evaluation committee (NEC) for further evaluation. At present the University holds a SUC Level III status.
