Editors Letter

Dear Readers,

Quick story time! I remember when I first moved out for university. The entire thing was so daunting. I was excited but also nervous. Now when I think about it, it seems like no big deal. I will hear myself talk about it with a level of casualness that younger me would have been shocked by. “Yeah, of course I lived on my own in a new city for the first time while also attending a new school and starting a new level of education.” I brush by it like it was easy but during that time I was required to do a lot of growing. I vividly remember my first time traveling downtown by myself. I hadn’t even moved out there yet because my place wasn’t ready. I was using the first couple weeks as a chance to get used to my surroundings before moving and managed to get into the city via the train smoothly for my first day. Just as I was stepping off the train, I heard a loud ripping sound and then felt a cool breeze glide over the sole of my foot. My shoe had caught the edge of the grate on the step, ripping the bottom off almost completely. I found myself sliding my foot along the ground, absolutely disgusted by the thought of my foot touching the subway station floor. I was extremely aware of the people staring at me as I dragged my foot and scooted by them. People buzzed around me, carrying on with their day, only grumbling that I was walking too slow or in their way. As I walked out to the street, cars honked at pedestrians and cyclists and the sound of buskers competed with each other in the background. Needless to say, I was overwhelmed and deflated. I wasn’t even able to make it off the train without something going wrong. How could I think I could move out and live on my own? It was even more upsetting because I wasn’t even that far from home.

After what I can only describe as an internal meltdown, I collected my thoughts and knew that standing there looking sad and lost wasn’t going to get me anywhere. Part of me wanted to call home but I knew there was very little that could be done. I was going to have to figure it out on my own. While to some this may seem like a minor inconvenience, in that moment I remember feeling so small. Luckily I had given myself some extra time, allotting for the high chance that I was going to get lost or have a problem on my way to campus. This allowed me enough time to make my way to an outlet store and purchase a cheap pair of sandals. While it is an extremely embarrassing and entertaining story for me, I also often looked back on that moment with a level of pride. I was proud of how I was able to manage it on my own. Years later as I walk through the same station to go to work, I am proud of the calmness and sureness I feel now. I am proud of how far I have come from being the terrified, chaotic 18 year old to the more confident and slightly less chaotic person that I am today. The next four years were jam packed with moments like this. I had to learn how to navigate a new place, budget, manage my time, work with different people and so much more. All of those experiences contribute to the person I am.

This month we are entering Spring. This is a time for planting seeds and new growth. This is the time to prepare for growth within your mind, body and spirit. It is time to start taking the first steps towards the growth of new goals. This might be a new job, project, skill, certification or habit. There is no guarantee that things will go as planned. In fact there is a pretty good chance that they won't. Regardless, remember that no matter the outcome, you have grown and learned along the way. Growth isn’t only something we see on the outside either. Maybe you are trying to build your self confidence or grow your ability to set healthy boundaries. Maybe you are looking to improve your practice of forgiveness or gratitude. The saying is corny but it still carries a lot of truth. In many cases, our life endeavors give us more in the journey than the destination. Wishing you all a very happy March!

Level Up Yourself to Level Up Your Relationship

Think of your relationship as a 2-player video game where you and your partner are on a legendary adventure. Just like in any game, leveling up your characters makes you stronger, smarter, and better equipped to battle whatever bosses or challenges the game throws at you. Personal growth is all about gaining those XP points in real life, boosting your abilities in body, mind, and spirit. Let's dive into how personal growth can enhance the dynamics of our relationship.

Why Level Up?

In a video game, of course you wouldn't attempt to defeat a dragon boss without the right armor and weapons, right? Similarly, in the legendary adventure of life and relationships, personal growth gives you the tools and skills to successfully navigate challenges more smoothly. It's about understanding yourself and your partner, managing emotions like a pro, and bringing positivity and energy into your team. Plus, it makes the journey a lot more fun!

Facing the Quest Ahead

Embarking on this growth quest together might seem daunting at first. Life’s side missions –homework, hobbies, or just bingewatching your favorite series – can distract you. And sometimes, the idea of change can be as scary as a new level boss. But here's a piece of insight from the gaming world: every quest is an opportunity for epic rewards. The effort you put into growing pays off, leveling up your relationship in ways you've never imagined.

Five Power Moves to Boost Your Relationship

Set Joint Quests: Have a heart-to-heart talk about the achievements that you both aim for - both in your own personal quests and your shared journey. Setting goals as a team makes you unstoppable!

Open Communication: Great teams talk – a lot. Share your dreams, fears, and everything in between. There is freedom and strength in allowing yourself to be vulnerable. It’s like unlocking secret levels that bring you closer together.

Support Each Other: Be each other’s cheerleader. Celebrate each small victory on your way to the big boss – life's challenges are easier when you know you've got backup that you can count on.

Show Your True HP (Heart Points): Letting your guard down and being vulnerable isn’t a weakness; it's a strength that adds depth to your team's bond.

Celebrate Your Wins: Crushed a goal? High-five each other! Sharing your successes strengthens your alliance and keeps the game interesting.

Keeping the Adventure Going

Your relationship game doesn't have a final level, it's an ongoing journey. Keep seeking new adventures, upgrading your skills, and supporting each other. Regular check-ins are like saving your game progress – they help you stay on track and remind you of how far you’ve come.

Game Over? Never!

Just like in the best multi-player gamesgrowing together makes your partnership stronger, happier, and ready for whatever adventures life throws your way. So, grab your controllers, set your sights on those personal growth goals, and get ready to level up your relationship. Together, you're a team no challenge can defeat. Remember, in the game of love and life, growing together is your ultimate strategy for success!

Card: Rejoice and Laugh

The COLE (The Council of Light and Energy) wish to advise us to focus on rejoicing and laughing during the month ahead. They sense that they will be some heaviness or burden some energy that you may be carrying forward in the early part of this month as we approach the new moon energies will begin to lighten and continue to do so as we move into spring equinox the astrological new year and the first full moon, lunar eclipse of the year.

For some of you the messages to tweak and adjust your focus as they see that some of you were focusing more on what you do not desire versus what you do desire. As a manifestation energies are still fertile. There is time for you to turn things around before we are plunged into the portal of eclipse season.

For some of you, the message is to release your irrational fears and anxieties and trade them in for a creativity, fun and intuition. You’re encouraged to laughing rejoice towards all that comes your way even when it may seem chaotic or negative, as you were reminded that everything is in order and can always serve an opportunity for your spiritual evolution and growth.

The COLE See this time. Ahead of us as a pivotal point for us to awaken joy, laughter and spontaneity of your heart and soul, while releasing the heaviness and density of your mind.

In order to make room for the new, you must release that which no longer serves you from your mind, body, and spirit. Is not enough to simply leave these energies dormant, you must go the extra step to release them fully. You are encouraged to seek professional energy cleansing, as well as purging and decluttering of your physical surroundings, and of your mind.

Planting the Seeds of Transformation

In the garden of life, the harmony between the mind, body, and spirit weaves a beautiful symphony of personal development and inner growth. Just as a garden flourishes when nurtured with care, so too does our being when we cultivate the seeds of mindfulness, physical well-being, and spiritual connection. In this article, we embark on a spiritual journey, exploring the profound interplay between these essential domains and their transformative power in our lives.

Nurturing the Garden of Consciousness

Within the depths of our mind lies the fertile ground where thoughts bloom and perceptions unfold. To cultivate personal development, we must plant the seeds of mindfulness and awareness. Through gentle introspection and meditation, we can till the soil of our consciousness, uprooting the weeds of negativity and sowing the seeds of positivity and clarity. As we water these seeds with intention and practice, we witness the blossoming of wisdom, focus, and emotional balance. In the garden of our mind, we tend to the delicate flowers of gratitude, compassion, and self-reflection, nurturing a fertile ground for personal growth.

Nourishing the Temple of the Soul

Our bodies are sacred vessels, temples that house our spirit and allow us to experience the physical realm. To cultivate personal development, we must honour and care for this earthly abode. Just as a gardener tends to the soil, we must nourish our bodies with wholesome food, movement, and rest. Through mindful movement practices like yoga or dance, we awaken the dormant energy within, allowing it to flow freely and harmoniously. By embracing a balanced and nourishing diet, we provide our bodies with the vital nutrients they need to thrive. Rest and rejuvenation become the tender moments when we allow ourselves to heal, replenish, and integrate the lessons of the day. By cultivating a loving relationship with our bodies, we invite holistic well-being and vibrant health into our lives.

Cultivating the Connection to the Divine

Beyond the physical and mental realms lies the ethereal landscape of the spirit, a realm of boundless wisdom and connection to the divine. To cultivate personal development, we must plant the seeds of spiritual nourishment and growth. Through meditation, prayer, or contemplation, we create sacred space within our hearts to commune with the divine. In this sanctuary, we find solace, guidance, and a deeper understanding of our purpose. By embracing rituals that resonate with our spirit, whether it be journaling, chanting, or spending time in nature, we cultivate a profound sense of interconnectedness, finding solace in the vastness of the universe. As we tend to the garden of our spirit, we witness the flourishing of love, compassion, and inner peace, nurturing a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment.

In our garden of personal development, the harmony between the mind, body, and spirit is paramount. By consciously planting seeds of mindfulness, physical well-being, and spiritual connection, we embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and inner growth. As we tend to these essential domains with care and intention, we cultivate a garden of harmony, blooming with wisdom, vitality, and spiritual awakening. May we embrace this sacred journey, nurturing the seeds within us and allowing them to flourish, as we cultivate a life of profound personal development and alignment with our truest selves.
