Six Questions to Ask if You’re Feeling Unsupported …and What to Do About It
01
Have I Asked for Support? Sounds like an obvious question. Sometimes, however, we need to speak up and ask for what it is that we want or need. For myself and many other men, our pride can prevent us from asking for what we need from our loved ones. We may feel as if others will judge us, ridicule us, or view us as an emotional burden. Those scenarios most likely only exist in the confines of our minds.

How Can I Better Support Myself? In some instances, we truly can find ourselves short on support. During these times we can ensure that we are doing everything we can to support ourselves. For example, how would focusing on resting or healing from an ailment improve your outlook and physical health? How much better would you feel if you began spending time with those who accepted you as your authentic self?
Setting Yourself Up for Support
Get an Accountability Partner
Process and Release Anger and Resentment Feeling unappreciated or unsupported can stir up anger and resentment, which in-turn can drive a wedge between us and our close friends, spouses and family members. Inevitably, our minds remind us of other times when we felt that same anger and resentment. It’s the Law of Attraction; like attracts like. Seek the help of a trusted healing practitioner or therapist to help process and release those “hard” feelings. With a clear mind, you are in a better position to receive the love and support of others.

It's okay It's okay to feel powerless somedays and powerful the next. It's okay to take your time to understand your highs and lows, your triggers and flaws. It's okay to do everything you need to do to be at your best but it's okay if you’re not at your best everyday. It's okay to doubt that you are being supported but know that people are supporting you and want to see you succeed. It's okay to close down but it's okay to also open up and go for help when it's time to journey inside and follow the guidance. It's okay to embrace the help that is given. Forms of Support
By: Andrea Sipcic
There are several ways we can receive support and guidance from others and outside of ourselves, directly and indirectly. While some may be seemingly small or seen as common knowledge, all can be just as important as any other. It’s a good idea to consider as many of the options as possible so you can find the ones most suited for you. Here are forms and examples of what support and guidance can be:
Emotional Support Life Coaching or Therapy Energy healing work Spend time with your pet Meditation
Social Support Spend time with friends and/or family Join a support group Get involved with a like-minded community Take up a new group hobby or activity
Physical Support Exercise and movement Classes (or on your own) like Zumba, Pilates or Yoga Receive treatment like chiropractic, acupuncture or Reiki Being in and connecting with nature

August Reading with Intuitive Goddess Priya
Card: Alchemy The month of August brings in the energy of transformation, specifically the merging of two or more energies transforming them through unification. The Guides are encouraging you to be prepared for this transformation and inviting you to ease into it, rather than experience it with resistance and struggle. For some of you this transformation and merge will be within a relationship. Merging occurs when we function in a rhythm of ebb and flow, which is different from becoming the same. The Guides describe it as each party bringing their optimal selves, and as such, creating a new formation of energy in this union. For some of you this transformation will occur within yourself. It will come from merging your divine femine and divine masculine energies, or your higher and lower selves, or your mind, body and spirit, or any combination of your Being for a stronger energetic Being. When the Guides speak of alchemy, they reference magic. It can be unexplainable, invisible or undetectable, but the change is very evident, noticeable and visible. They invite you to remember and connect to the magic within you. The magic that creates the miraculous. Nobody Does It Better Than Me By: Priya Ali When speaking about seeking help, we often see the viewpoints of feeling weak by needing to ask for help. We have also pointed out how some feel afraid to ask for help. As someone who has grown from perfectionism and the need to control everything, as well as a coach, something I hear about when it comes to seeking help is that, “Nobody does it the way I do it, so I may as well just do it myself.” This can be a cover up for a few things. Firstly, it can be traced back to perfectionism, which is related to control. As perfection is a myth, it is not something we can attain and therefore a standard that will always be unattainable. Oftentimes, a person that embodies this message has experienced a relationship with someone who was never pleased, so they develop a pattern of being responsible for
things going well so that others are pleased. Secondly, there are people who broadcast this message due to their need for self-importance. As they don’t feel important, they don’t want to give up anything that they perceive makes them important in the eyes of others. This comes from an attempt to control their environment and those around them. Clients that engage in this type of mindset are often coming to see me because they are suffering from anxiety, depression and mental burnout. Personally, I found that when I started releasing this message, I became aware that people didn’t know that I needed help, or they didn’t feel that I wanted help. The other thing I became aware of was, people were willing to help but needed to know how they could help me, and I didn’t have an answer for them. We can be quick to claim nobody can help us, while still complaining we need help, and then not
be able to identify what help we would benefit from. Jumping on the “nobody can do it better than me” bandwagon can be passive-aggressive. It holds an energy of blame and of a problem that cannot be solved. Moving away from this mindset can take time and involves trust; trust in others and trust in yourself and your value. There is always room for
improvement, and someone can always do it better, even if that someone is you. Letting go of the need to control situations that bring you stress and overwhelm can allow you to be more balanced and ultimately more stable and productive. So while you may think nobody can do it better than you, by allowing yourself to receive help, you can do it better from a place of ease and calm.
