What’s Making Waves in Cruising
From new private islands to longer voyages and deeper explorations in port, here are the hottest trends sailing into 2025.
By Ming Tappin
New Private Islands on the Horizon
In 1977, when Norwegian Cruise Line opened Great Stirrup Cay, the private-island paradise was one of a kind. Today, it’s the norm for cruise lines that sail the Caribbean to make stops at their own retreats, where guests enjoy beaches, water parks, restaurants and bars — and there are even more of these exclusive destinations on the way. Royal Caribbean recently announced Perfect Day Mexico, a private getaway slated to open on Mexico’s Caribbean coast in 2027. The cruise line will also open two new Royal Beach Club locations, complete with swim-up bars and private cabanas: one on Paradise Island in the Bahamas in late 2025, and another in Cozumel, Mexico, in 2026. Carnival Cruise Line’s Celebration Key is set to debut this summer, a 65-acre expanse on Grand Bahama featuring some of the largest freshwater lagoons in the Caribbean and a milelong beach. And Disney Cruise Line added a second private destination last year: Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point on Eleuthera in the Bahamas features kids- and adults-only areas, activities that showcase Bahamian culture (like learning how to make a Junkanoo headpiece) and plenty of opportunities to interact with your favorite Disney characters.

OPENING SPREAD
Passengers sailing a new itinerary from National GeographicLindblad Expeditions will stop at three volcanic archipelagos, including the Canary Islands.
If you think expedition cruises are just for polar regions and the Galapagos, think again: Voyages to destinations like Australia, India, the North Atlantic and the South Pacific are opening up new horizons for the fastest-growing sector of the cruise industry. In 2026, Seabourn’s Seabourn Pursuit will sail the islands and atolls of the South Pacific on its way to and from Western Australia’s Kimberley region, giving guests the opportunity to spot whale sharks in Indonesia’s Cenderawasih Bay and the red bird-of-paradise on the Raja Ampat Islands. Meanwhile, National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions’ new 16-day Exploring Cabo Verde, the Canary Islands and the Azores itinerary visits three volcanic archipelagos in the Atlantic. And for river cruise fans, the expedition outfit will steer a new 17-cabin vessel on India’s Brahmaputra in 2026, complete with a team that includes local naturalists and a National Geographic photographer — so you can learn all about the mysterious royal Bengal tiger, then snap the perfect shot.
World Cruises and Grand Voyages Are in Demand
Longer cruises are more popular than ever — some world cruises even sell out before bookings officially open. Travelers are reaping the benefits of sailing to several continents on one voyage, crossing off multiple wonders of the world, from the Great Wall of China to the Great Barrier Reef, in a single trip. Royal Caribbean’s Ultimate World Cruise, a 274-night journey that departed in December 2023, visiting all seven continents, took over social feeds for being the longest voyage ever offered on a mainstream cruise liner. Coming up in 2026, Oceania Cruises’ newest ship, Vista, will sail for 197 days, visiting 43 countries across six continents, and Viking, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Cunard and Holland America Line also offer around-theworld sailings of more than 100 days. But if you can’t get away for months on end, look for world cruise segments as short as two weeks and grand voyages that spend one or two months on a specific continent. In 2027, Silversea’s Silver Nova will circumnavigate South America on its Grand South America sailing, calling at 35 ports, from electric Rio de Janeiro to Port Stanley, capital of the Falkland Islands, in 76 days.
Cruisers Go Solo
According to research from Cruise Lines International Association, between eight and 13 percent of today’s cruisers are solo travelers. And for good reason: Cruising is a highly social experience, offering the chance to meet like-minded travelers while exploring the world. When it comes to accommodations for one, Norwegian Cruise Line leads the way with its Solo Staterooms — a dedicated enclave on ships across its fleet made up of compact, well-designed single rooms, plus a communal lounge where guests can meet and mingle. On other cruise lines, pricing is adjusted for individuals: Uniworld River Cruises, which reported a 31-percent rise in solo passengers from 2019 to 2023, has reduced the single supplement for select 2025 departures (including its 10-day Delightful Danube & Prague and eight-day Burgundy & Provence itineraries), while those looking for a luxury ocean cruise can opt for the super-yacht feel of Explora Journeys, where the supplement to occupy a suite solo is just 25 percent more than the standard per-person fare.
More
Late-Night Stays and Overnights
Rather than racing through a destination and checking off sights, travelers are increasingly looking for slower, more meaningful journeys. In response, some cruise lines are staying longer in port — even if that means a few extra hours into the evening. Late port stays allow guests to participate in more immersive excursions, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, catch a show or simply linger over a drink in a piazza. Azamara’s Extended Destination Days offers 10 or more hours in port and its cruise calendar features 862 late-night stays and 392 overnights. Nearly half of sailings aboard Windstar Cruise’s small luxury ships include at least one overnight or late-night (past 10 p.m.) port call. And if local nightlife is your thing, book a Virgin Voyages cruise: The line’s Mediterranean itineraries include overnights in hot spots such as Mykonos, Ibiza and Istanbul.

Longer stays in port mean more time to enjoy alfresco meals in destinations like Ibiza.

Cruise Connectivity 101
By Marc Saltzman
For most travelers, keeping in touch with family and friends back home is non-negotiable — especially while cruising the open seas. Whether you’re purchasing an onboard Wi-Fi package or renting an eSIM for days in port, here’s what to consider when it comes to staying connected on your next voyage.
WI-FI IS NOT AS FAST AT SEA
Between weak satellite signals and limited bandwidth, it’s not uncommon to experience slower Wi-Fi speeds on a cruise. Still, there are ways to increase your chances of smooth surfing. “The best time to be online is usually between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., when most people are dining, at shows or sleeping,” says veteran cruise reporter Diane Tierney. Optimal coverage, she adds, can be found in the ship’s main gathering areas rather than in your cabin.
CHECK IF WI-FI IS INCLUDED
Recognizing the need for connectivity, cruise lines like Crystal and Viking include Wi-Fi in the price of the cruise. But consider what you’ll be using it for. While the Wi-Fi is free, there may be bandwidth
limitations — fine for checking emails, but not ideal for streaming or downloading.
IF NOT, BUY IT IN ADVANCE
When it comes to Wi-Fi, the quality reflects the price. Many cruise lines, such as Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, offer highspeed packages that can be purchased by the day or for the entire voyage. Carnival even has an onboard chat feature, available for a small fee, within the Carnival HUB app. Whatever option you go for, there are benefits to sorting it in advance: “Buy your package before your cruise as you can save up to 20 percent,” says Tierney.
BE CYBERSAFE
Whenever you join a public Wi-Fi network, remember that it’s not as secure as your
own private Internet connection. Refrain from making financial transactions and sharing sensitive information, and consider installing a virtual private network (VPN) on your laptop or phone so you can access the web privately.
INVEST IN AN ESIM
While it’s free to call home over Wi-Fi via apps like FaceTime or WhatsApp when you’re on board, you may be looking for a way to stay connected while exploring your ship’s ports of call. Rather than incurring expensive roaming charges, rent a temporary eSIM — a digital SIM card that allows you to access mobile data without having to install a physical SIM card. Consider companies like Airalo or Always Mobile, which offer a selection of local options.

7 Expert Hacks for the Ultimate Cruise Experience
Two cruise-enthused travel advisors share their tips for saving money, avoiding snags and making the most of each day on board.
By Andrea Karr
Reserve early — period
Unless you want to cruise out of season, or you’re flexible with your dates, book as early as possible — at least 12 to 18 months before sailing at peak times. “The earlier you book, the better chance you’re going to get a cabin in the location you want,” says Princeton, New Jersey-based travel advisor Ross Spalding. The price is likely to be better, too, since cruise lines tend to raise rates as the departure date gets closer. If you notice a promotion or sale between the time you book and the date you make your final payment, flag it with your travel agent — most cruise lines will adjust your rate upon request.
Consider unexpected cruising destinations and experiences
“Cruising is an affordable way to see an expensive destination,” says Calgary, Alberta-based travel advisor Lesley Keyter, who points to Japan as a rising hot spot for cruisers. “I did a cruise around Japan, and it was a great way to see the country without having to pack and unpack,” she says. “And when I compare the cost of a cruise with that of a customized itinerary, the cruise often comes out ahead.” If you’re looking to extend your trip, some cruise lines also offer add-on land experiences — like transfers and lodges after an Alaskan cruise or a luxury train tour following a European river cruise. And if it’s adventure you’re after, Keyter suggests booking an expedition cruise when the ship is repositioning from Antarctica to the Arctic or vice versa. “For example, you might see the coast of Spain as the expedition ship makes its way up to Norway or Greenland,” says Keyter. “And they’re going to have the Zodiacs and experts on board.”
3
Choose your cabin wisely
When it comes to getting a good night’s sleep, cabin location is everything. “Choose one on a deck where cabins are above and below, to avoid noise from common areas, pools, restaurants and lounges,” Spalding says. Even if the opening and closing hours seem reasonable, noisy cleaning might happen outside of that window. Spalding also recommends staying away from connecting rooms, elevators and stairs on family-friendly cruises, and booking ahead to get a room on the land-facing side of the ship so you can enjoy the view. If you’re on a transoceanic cruise, consider where the sun will be when you wish to use your balcony — say, at sunrise to sip coffee or in the afternoon to sunbathe.
5
Tip in advance for better service
Even if your fare includes pre-paid gratuities, Keyter recommends paying an extra 10 or 20 dollars or euros to the maître d’ and bartender at the start of the trip. “They will appreciate the gesture and you’ll never be left waiting for service,” she says. “I always feel it is useless to tip at the end.” Keyter also likes to leave five dollars or euros for her room steward — the person who is looking after her each day — next to the bed on the first day, then 10 per day of the cruise at the end, each time with a thank-you note. 4
Be strategic with meals
Larger cruise ships have specialty restaurants that come with a fee and require a reservation. Though you may be able to get seatings at the last minute, Spalding encourages booking in advance to save money. “When you book multiple nights of specialty dining, the cruise line will often sell them in a package,” he says. “So instead of paying $59 for one night, it might be $129 for three.” Keyter also likes to take advantage of the main dining room included in the fare, which can be quiet outside of dinner hours. “The buffet is always crowded,” says Keyter, “but the main dining room is often open for walk-ins at breakfast and lunch.”
Plan shore excursions with the ship
It may be tempting to book a land excursion with a third party, but Keyter is a fan of arranging them through the cruise ship so they have a record of your whereabouts. “Sometimes cars and buses break down, and when the ship has to go, it goes,” she says. “Opting for the ship’s excursions gives you peace of mind.” For Spalding, booking an excursion through the ship is most important at ports that use local tenders to take you to land. “Santorini, or anywhere in the Greek Islands, is a place where tenders get backed up,” he says. “If you book an excursion with your cruise line, they’ll prioritize getting you off the ship at the right time. Yes, you’re going to pay a little more — but if you’re off the ship two hours earlier, that’s worth something.”
Book your next cruise while on board
If you’re in the middle of a voyage and know you want to travel with the cruise line again, Keyter advises seeing the onboard cruise specialist. “You can get great rates that you can’t get off the ship,” she says. Your travel advisor will still get the commission and be your point of contact going forward, while you get a good price and other perks such as shipboard credits.
Smooth Sailing

Keep your next cruise easy, not queasy, with these tips for managing motion sickness.
Since the world’s earliest ocean journeys, travelers have experienced the “plague at sea” — the motion sickness that could strike all but the most experienced sailors. In fact, the word “nausea” derives from the ancient Greek word naus, meaning “ship.” Fortunately, today’s state-of-the-art cruise ships are more like floating hotels than sailboats and, most days, it’s unlikely you’ll sense much motion. However, seasoned cruisers know to be prepared for all kinds of weather. Read on to learn how to make your next sailing a breeze.
What causes seasickness, and how likely am I to experience it on a cruise?
Motion sickness comes from your nervous system, not your stomach. “Seasickness happens when your body, your inner ear and your eyes are all sending different messages to your brain,” says Penny Gleave, a registered nurse and owner of TravelSafe, a pre-travel health and immunization clinic in Vancouver. On a ship, your body may sense the pitching and rolling motion of large waves,
but when your eyes don’t register the movement, it can lead to uncomfortable sensory confusion.
Motion sickness affects about onethird of the population, with women more susceptible to it than men. That said, the bigger the vessel, the less motion you’re likely to feel — if you feel any at all. In the last 20 years, the average cruise ship has doubled in size to more than 1,000 feet in length with a gross tonnage of more than 170,000, and many are also equipped with fin-like stabilizers that minimize side-toside rolling.
If I’m prone to motion sickness, are there destinations to be avoided or sought out?
“The Caribbean Sea outside the June-toNovember hurricane season, and the Mediterranean Sea in spring and summer are your best bets for calm waters,” says Mark Greenwood, a Vancouver-based travel advisor. If you shudder at the thought of high winds and rough seas, steer clear of the Tasman Sea between Australia and New Zealand, the Bay of Biscay off western France and the Drake Passage from Chile to Antarctica.
Which stateroom should I book to minimize motion?
The lower down you are in a ship, the closer you are to its center of gravity and the more stable you’ll feel. A midship stateroom with a balcony is ideal, for access to both fresh air and the view. “Watching the horizon can help your brain make sense of the ship’s movement,” says Gleave. What remedies should I pack?
For mild seasickness, many cruisers swear by bands that gently press the inside of your wrist, where the groove between the two tendons is said to be a nausea-relieving acupressure point. Ginger, taken in the form of tablets, candy or tea, is also a popular stomach soother. For more rollicking waves, some general practitioners may prescribe a patch containing scopolamine, worn on the skin for up to 72 hours. “Check with your doctor to ensure it’s a suitable option for your age and health history,” advises Gleave. Her tried-and-true remedy is over-the-counter antihistamine medications like Dramamine, taken at least 30 to 60 minutes before bad weather hits — the captain’s briefing should give you plenty of notice if rough seas are ahead.
The Best Cruises for Every Timeline
Cruises offer big-time travel without the hassle: Board your ship, unpack once and every morning you’re greeted by a new destination to explore. Whether you have a few days, a week, a month or more, here’s our guide to maximizing your time and cruising some of the most spectacular places on Earth.
By Tim Johnson
If You Have a Weekend
Only have two or three nights? Mexico and the Bahamas offer exceptional — and accessible — getaways for Canadians and Americans. One of North America’s most beautiful regions is sunny Baja California, where the desert meets the sea and wildlife abounds, from whales to sea turtles. Departing from Long Beach, California, Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Firenze transports travelers to Ensenada, a.k.a. La Cenicienta del Pacífico (the Cinderella of the Pacific). There, you can walk along the waterfront and fill up on fish tacos and margaritas. Meanwhile, the Bahamas is a true island paradise, with soft sands, turquoise waters and swaying palms. Norwegian Cruise Line’s three-day itinerary departs from Miami aboard Norwegian Gem, calling at Nassau and 268-acre Great Stirrup Cay, the cruise line’s private island. Once home to pirates, the island now offers activities from snorkeling to zip lining — or you can simply grab a cocktail and enjoy your tropical Saturday.
If You Have One Week
It may be a vast wilderness of forests, tundra and grizzlies, but Alaska can be conquered in just seven days. Aboard Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Edge, which made its inaugural voyage to the 49th state last spring, you can view the wilds from the Magic Carpet, an open-air lounge the size of a tennis court that extends off the side of the ship. Embark on a nature trail excursion in colorful Ketchikan, sample wild salmon in Juneau and, for an adventure to remember, take a helicopter to a glacier in Skagway — then mush a sled dog across it. On the other side of the continent, another impressive and historic region awaits: New England. In August and September 2025, Princess Cruises’ 7-Day Best of Canada and New England journey travels along the shimmering Atlantic coast, visiting Gilded Age mansions in Rhode Island, Fenway Park in Boston and the picturesque Portland Head Lighthouse in Maine, as well as Halifax, Nova Scotia.
If You Have Two Weeks
Setting sail on a European cruise is like riding in a time machine, with new discoveries from the ancient world greeting you almost every day — this is especially true in the Mediterranean. You’ll need at least two weeks for Viking’s new 11-day itinerary aboard Viking Sea , which begins in Barcelona and ends in Athens, with stops in Rome for the iconic Colosseum, in Sicily to climb volcanic Mt. Etna and in Crete to see the imagination-bending palace and labyrinth at Knossos. Meanwhile, the eastern and central parts of the continent are home to one of the world’s great rivers: the Danube. On AmaWaterways’ Grand Danube, you can check off eight countries — Germany, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia — in two weeks. Sail past breathtaking cliffs and gorges, and explore medieval fortresses, hilltop castles and rolling vineyards as languages and cultures change daily. One of the best places to watch it all unfold? The big hot tub, a standard on AmaWaterways’ European river cruises.
If You Have One Month
With 25 million international visitors in 2023, Japan is one of the hottest destinations on Earth, and a number of new cruises are presenting new ways to explore the island nation. In May 2025, Azamara Cruises’ two-week Japan Intensive Voyage itinerary will sail during the end of sakura season, with 13 stops from tropical Nagasaki in the south to mountainous Aomori at the top of Honshu island, plus a transit through the Inland Sea. If you stay on board, the same ship, Azamara Pursuit, will continue to Taipei, with calls at Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong and Singapore over another two weeks. Craving a more rugged adventure? For roaring wildlife, dramatic landscapes and some of the best beaches in the world, opt for an African journey. Oceania Cruises’ 25-day Equatorial Echoes sailing takes you from the markets of Cape Verde and the sand dunes of Walvis Bay, Namibia, to the mountains of Cape Town.
If You Have a Lifetime
An ever-increasing number of people are choosing to spend their golden years on a cruise ship. And why not? Meals and drinks are provided, medical care is available on board and, most importantly, a host of new experiences awaits at every port. A world cruise is a good place to start, and in January 2026, Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Seven Seas Mariner will sail for almost half a year on its Sense of Adventure voyage. The itinerary is epic: 41 countries, 77 ports of call and 47 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, so you can surf in Tahiti, go on safari in South Africa and pass through the Panama Canal — all without having to repack your suitcase.
Interviews
The Power of the Sea
By Robert Liwanag
Julanda Marais, Explora Journeys’ senior lead of spa and wellness, shares how physical, spiritual and emotional health shape the cruise experience.
In 2022, Explora Journeys launched a wellness initiative unlike anything else at sea. Available on both EXPLORA I and II , Ocean Wellness is a collection of restorative experiences designed to help guests connect more deeply with their azure surroundings. In addition to traditional luxury spa treatments, guests can choose from sundial salutation rituals and bespoke aromatherapy sessions. The goal? For guests to achieve an “ocean state of mind.”
With Julanda Marais heading the program as the senior lead of spa and wellness, Explora Journeys is set to enhance its offerings even further this year. “Being in and around water has a powerful effect on our mind and body,” Marais says. “We want our guests to embark on personal journeys based on our five pillars of energy, sleep, relaxation, mindfulness and immunity.”
Range What kind of treatments does Explora Journeys specialize in?
Julanda Marais Whether you are seeking a result-driven experience or something more holistic, we have options for everyone — from massages to Medi Luxe facials, which incorporate sculpting and microcurrent therapy. We also brought the spa experience into our beauty studio, where we offer rituals focusing on scalp and hair health.
R How do broader industry trends influence your offerings?
JM There’s been a big shift in the wellness industry toward self-care. Now more than ever, the discerning traveler is very focused on leading a balanced lifestyle, so we want to ensure that while guests are with us, they can continue the lifestyle they are leading at home. And our hope is that when they leave, they feel an enrichment in their routine.
Julanda Marais
After launching her career at sea as a spa therapist, Julanda Marais transitioned to land-based roles in luxury hospitality across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In 2022, she returned to the water as the senior lead of spa and wellness at Explora Journeys.
R What is the most popular wellness experience on board?
JM Our guests often return for our Ocean State of Mind ritual. It is a small-group experience that helps guests reconnect with themselves through a combination of visualization techniques, breathwork, meditation, crystal therapy and sound therapy. We incorporate amethyst for calming, clear quartz for spiritual and energy cleansing, and aquamarine to promote tranquility.
R What innovations are you most excited to introduce to the program?
JM We’re planning a few enhancements in 2025, including a late-night spa treatment for two guests. We will also launch a multigenerational retreat this summer. The spa market tends to focus on the 25-plus market, but we are thinking about what we can do for younger guests traveling with their families.
Around the World in 124 Days
By Karen Robock
Crystal’s world cruise ambassador Fernando Barroso de Oliveira chats about making guests feel like family, the best ports of call and living his life at sea.
To say that Fernando Barroso de Oliveira is an experienced cruiser would be a massive understatement. He has spent his career (49 years and counting) at sea and, over the decades, he has been on hundreds of voyages. Barroso de Oliveira’s reputation as a former cruise director is near legendary. One of the things he is known for is high visibility among guests: He’s everywhere and seems to know everyone. And, at this point in his journey, he’s an expert on virtually every port his ships visit, too.
Range What do you love most about exploring the world by water?
Fernando Barroso de Oliveira It’s seeing the things you can only see by ship. A few years ago, I went to the North Pole on a 16day charter, and it was the most fascinating time. The ship was an icebreaker, so when we stopped we were surrounded by ice. We saw
grown polar bears and cubs, playing right at the bow. It was very exciting.
R What’s so special about the guest experience on a Crystal voyage?
FBdO It’s our soul — the guests feel like they are being taken care of by old friends. In this day and age, when everything is becoming more automatic and automated, to have someone open the door for you and say, “Good morning,” or “Have a good day,” or “Enjoy the tour,” it makes a heck of a difference.
R Can you share some of your favorite destinations from Crystal’s upcoming World Cruise 2025?
FBdO The Panama Canal, for those who haven’t done the crossing before. And we will have three days in Rio de Janeiro over Carnival, which is special. We
on itinerary decisions (he’s visited many ports dozens of times) and liaising with guests (often in their first language; he speaks seven). He will sail on his 32nd world cruise in 2025, making stops at 75 destinations in 25 countries, from Ecuador to Montenegro.
will have a box, so guests can enjoy the spectacular costumes, music and dancing in total comfort. Carnival is Brazil at its best, really.
R You are known for your special connection with passengers. How do you make guests feel so welcome?
FBdO On the World Cruise, I entertain all the guests. Every night, I have six or seven people at my dinner table. We talk about where we are sailing, what we are seeing, and I gather their feedback, too. And I remember all guests’ names. Yes, all 600 of them. I don’t know how I do it — but I know it makes them feel good.
R What’s the best part of being on a cruise ship, after all these years?
FBdO The people. A ship is a ship. The crew and the passengers make the cruise.

When you stroll through the city’s neighborhoods — at turns eclectic, luxurious and laid-back — you’ll be struck by how diverse and varied one destination can be.

For close encounters with Floridian fauna, head to Flamingo Gardens outside the city, where you’ll come face to face with endangered Florida panthers, otters, a black bear and, yes, American flamingos.

The
Orlando is best known for the theme parks in and around the city, including Walt Disney World, SeaWorld, Legoland and Universal Orlando (with Universal Epic Universe opening in May 2025). But less touristy areas are there to be explored before or after your cruise, such as Winter Park, a neighboring city that’s filled with boutiques and restaurants, particularly along Park Avenue. WHERE TO
Ravenous Pig
Head to this Winter Park spot for New American dishes with a Southern spin (try the crab and corn beignets with Old Bay hollandaise). In the adjacent brewery and outdoor beer garden, small-batch brew lovers can sip and sample 18 house beers.

Vancouver
Canada’s west-coast metropolis is a vibrant fusion of urban living and breathtaking nature — home to glass-and-steel high-rises, forests and sweeping views of the Pacific. And, despite a population of just over 700,000, the city retains the charm of a small town, thanks to numerous distinct and tightknit neighborhoods, from the laid-back West End and diverse Commercial Drive to trendy Yaletown.
SHOPPING
Gastown
Explore the art galleries, breweries and shops in Vancouver’s oldest neighborhood. Be sure to visit the Gastown Steam Clock — every 15 minutes, steam is released, and the clock whistles a short tune.
Chinatown BBQ
From its retro design (black-and-white floor tiles, red chairs and green wainscoting) to its outstanding roast duck and gai lan (Chinese broccoli), this popular restaurant delivers a true taste of Hong Kong in Canada.
St. Lawrence
British Columbia and Quebec come together at this cozy, Michelin-starred spot, where the evolving tasting menu features dishes like smoked venison with celery root and wheatberry fricassee, and the waitstaff converse in both English and French.
CAN’T MISS
Capilano Suspension
Bridge
Park
Immerse yourself in a rainforest just five miles from the city. After crossing the iconic bridge, explore high in the treetops on numerous suspended walkways.
Granville Island Public Market
Find everything from mom-and-pop shops and fine dining to fresh seafood at this compact peninsula, just a short water-taxi ride away from the downtown core.
Stanley Park
This 1,001-acre oasis is the perfect place for walking, running and cycling. No trip to Vancouver is complete without a visit to the 5.6-mile-long Seawall scenic path.
THE SOUVENIR
Handmade Soap from Sisters Sage
Lynn-Marie Angus opened this wellness store in 2018, offering soaps, salves and smudge sprays made with Indigenous ingredients like cedar and sweetgrass.
