- Everybody can be great, as anybody can serve. You do not have to have a college degree to serve. You do not have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love, you only need to be here in this place with us. -We all in EPSF-BeniSuef strongly believed in this and always seek to achieve it so in this newsletter, we tried to explain the impact we left through the events we finished in the first semester, so take a look and don’t forget to make your own impact from now.

• By one blood bag, you can save up to three lives, so EPSF-BeniSuef holds the Blood Donation Campaign every year for almost 11 years; to raise awareness and correct misconceptions about blood donation. • Currently, the percentage of blood donors in Egypt is only about %1 of the total population and we need it to be %3 to achieve self-sufficiency of blood bags by 2030. • In addition to the value of this great humanitarian work, you can also benefit from blood donation as it helps in: 1 1. Lowering the risk of suffering from heart attack. 2 2. Reducing cancer risk. 3 3. Getting rid of extra iron; as its increase causes toxicity. • This campaign covers many different regions as it consists of several phases and the first phase was from 7th to 19th of December 2020: 1 1. On the 7th of December, we made a workshop in BeniSuef Pharmacists’ Syndicate to facilitate the topic and to be ready to aware the public. 2 2. On the 8th and 9th of December (University region days), we aware a large number of university students about the benefits of blood donation and the national duty towards it. 3 3. On the 11th of December, we were in ( )بنــي عفــانvillage as these places have a high percentage of misconceptions about blood donation. 4 4. On the 15th of December ( )ميــدان الزراعييــن, it was a cooperation with EPSF-NUB to unify and intensify our efforts.
6
• After that, we continued on our social media platforms till the 19th of December. • Conclusion: • We achieved our goal, more than 1,500 of the public are now aware of blood donation benefits and about anemia (its types and how to overcome it whether through food or medication) from the offline campaign and nearly 1200 from the online campaign. • More than 84 blood bags were collected, and the blood pressure was measured for more than 200 people. Anemia cases were also registered to follow up with them, which reached more than 150 cases.
•Finally, you can be a hero of someone’s life, you can resurrect him with little drops of your blood. Our society in great need of blood donation to fill this defect by 2030, so we have another phase in March.

so we put our first step from 12 years ago in “Step On The Way” conference, it was a step of hope and aspiration and gives us the power to challenge our limits. • This year SOTW13 -which is different from any year- was held online because of the COVID19- situation and for the safety of our students. • Its vision is: 11. • A lot of us have always dreamed of a journey of adventures, experiencing new cultures, trying different food, making new friends, learning new languages and enjoying vacations by enriching ourselves in different ways. • And now it is time to take our golden opportunity to see the world from the SEP eyes and firstly, what is SEP? • It is a “Student Exchanging Program” It is the IPSF’s largest project offering professional pharmacy internships in around 80 hosting countries worldwide. • What are the SEP offers? • It offers a huge training in five fields, which are clinical pharmacy, community pharmacy, pharmaceutical pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, and scientific research. It offers you a real opportunity to travel, explore, and know new people. • We made a big promotion that includes two phases: 11. Online promotion: We used our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) to reach our pharmacy students and aware them about this golden chance and the benefits they will gain from this experience.

What are you doing for the others? -It is life›s most important question, the efforts to help poor people and give cheer to them will be the beginning of a happier life for the whole world, as we always care about society.
• We wanted to start the new year in a great way, so we have organized winter supplies that aim to meet the poor‘s needs from clothes and blankets, to protect them from the freezing winter, the winter supplies were in «Al Gharkd» village in the east of BeniSuef on the 1st of January 2021 and it included: -Awareness about COVID19 -, how to deal with when there is an infection, and the precautions to avoid. -Analysis about common diseases, which they suffer from. -Clothes fair that contained winter clothes for men, women, and children. • We have distributed 32 blankets and 100 masks to spread more awareness about the commitment to the precautionary measures. • The impulse to help each other is into our genes; it is coded within our species. We have a «soul contract» to help each other, and I am convinced that we all feel this impulse. Finally, stay tuned for our coming convoy.

• Is the volunteering based on work only, or what? -EPSF has proved that volunteering is based on the spirit of the volunteers and their cooperation with each other, as long as it is high, they can do everything, so EPSF-BeniSuef held a social day in “El-Montazh park” • This event was made in order to: 1 1. Motivate the members during the exams. 2 2. b ond between the members of the association and expose them to the alumni; to gain mentality from the old generations. 3 3. e nhance some valuable morals and concepts that people often neglect during the time of stress. 4 4.Celebrate the new year and teach the members how to put goals for the new year.
16
• The day included a dish party, each one who had attended the day brought some kind of food with him, and then we shared it all while we were talking together. And we had 40 attendees. • The event was a good example on our family concept, everyone felt that he had 2 families from now and had good consultants can ask their help in anything and in any time. • Finally, if I were asked to describe the day in one sentence, I will say it was a day full of positive energy to complete.
17
• Although that difficult time, we could hold shoot for the stars camp with taking all the precautionary measures. It was the beginning of a new season for EPSF-BeniSuef with new ambitions and a new generation. It was on the 29th and 30th of January 2021. • It was an educational and social camp, which helps in establishing and developing the association; as it is a tool of bonding between the association members and raising awareness about the association systems, rules and history. • Within the two days, we had 53 attendees: 1 1. The First Day: It included a general meeting and two sessions, which are presentation skills and negotiation skills. 2 2. The Second Day: It included two sessions which are photography skills and marketing basics, and also many social activities, dish party and “BSPSA ” قعــدة, a panel discussion between the new generation and association alumni about history and mentality of EPSF-BeniSuef. • We add fun to learning, the shoot for stars camp was a great opportunity for that. We learned, laughed, made friends, made memories and everyone felt that he is in his home.
