OWNER’S LETTER My name is Elena Lapko. In August 2018, I became the owner of the Netherlands accessory brand NOOSA-Amsterdam. I am happy that you hold this brandbook in your hands. Its pages contain several key concepts that our loyal customers all over the world have come to know and love. Our brochure presents our main collections with deeper looks into each concept. I hope that after browsing our brandbook, you will make the decision to join us. Upon becoming a NOOSA-Amsterdam distributor, you will enjoy being a part of this global community of artists and designers. ABOUT US NOOSA-Amsterdam was created by two Dutch entrepreneurs in 2009. The first released accessories were belts with bracelets, bags and wallets along with other items made of genuine leather following soon after. A distinctive feature of the brand’s creations is the ability to attach to each accessory one or more buttons-symbols called “chunks” depicting symbols from different world cultures. The chunks are made of natural materials, including some that are especially valuable.
NOOSA-Amsterdam has a special position in the fashion industry. We create accessories that are always relevant and do not depend on the ever-changing fashion trends. Our audience understands, thanks to the design of interchangeable chunks and their deep spiritual meaning, that our products take on a new look each time they are worn. Due to the spiritual component and high quality of our products, the degree of loyalty to the brand is high. After purchasing one accessory, our customers soon return for a new product, as well as continually updating their collection of symbols. Our brand accessories are often given as gifts. It is difficult to imagine a more personalized present. When someone buys a bracelet and chooses chunks for it, they remember the small life details of their beloved. NOOSA was named after the small town in Australia, where the two company founders had visited. Both of them were deeply impressed by its atmosphere of authenticity, the special people, and its magnificent National Park. NOOSA perfectly represents their brand of accessories. NOOSA-Amsterdam accessories are imaginative and creative that finish the outfit. You assemble your own NOOSA by selecting the leather colour and adding chunks, either at random or based on your outfit.

FA I R T R A D E The majority of NOOSA’s leather is made in an Indian tannery, one of the last of its kind still operating in India. Our leather artisans create dyes using only vegetable materials, such as Southern American quebracho wood, walnut, and mimosa. Our naturally tanned leather breathes and improves over time becoming more beautiful with age. NOOSA-Amsterdam’s fair way is better prices, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for talented craftsmen in the developing world. Our approach enables local workers to improve their living conditions and have more control over lives for their families and ensures that their children are able to attend school. We are keeping alive a Craft that had been passed on in families for many generations. With fair trade we have the power to change the world. With simple shopping choices we give artisans an honest wage, which gives them control over their own decisions, direction to their future, and the ability to live a dignified life that every human deserves.
The current collection of chunks is manufactured primarily in Nepal and Indonesia according to the principles of Fair Trade. Our production company in Nepal is among the founders of Fair Trade Group. Since 1991, they have been committed to improving the socio-economic situation of the most vulnerable parts of the population through the creation of employment possibilities as well as providing education. The manufacture of chunks has begun in fully fair way environments, where our artisans are busy with carving bone, metal, wood and beautiful shells creating our little masterpieces – chunks.
THE FOUNDATION OF OUR UNIVERSE
The Original collection is the heart of our world of accessories. It includes bracelets, belts, bags, wallets and small leather goods such as key rings or brooches. The Original collection includes products from our classic line, as well as limited release items. Our Classic line selections are always available for order through any distributor worldwide. Each Original product can be decorated with one or several original chunks. Each chunk is unique and carries its origin and story to tell. The button-symbols measure 1,5 cm in diameter. NOOSA-Amsterdam chunks are small moments that are uniquely yours — special memories of travels or reminders of events and people that feature in your life. We noticed that our customers most often use them as a tool for fulfilling desires. Combinations of symbols are individual.
