Lieutenant Governor’s Letter Hello Division 14! The summer has been fantastic! A huge shoutout to everyone who attended our Division-wide Service Event! We volunteered at the Lake Placid Ironman, and the athletes were so grateful. I had multiple athletes tell me they were truly thankful for our service. With school quickly approaching, it means Due collection is coming. Dues will remain $13 this year. If your club is interested in charging an extra dollar or two to help offset service event costs, that is completely okay. I will be visiting each club this Fall! I will be reaching out to each club as the school year comes closer to figure out a good time to stop by. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me. Yours in Service, Erica Swirsky Lieutenant Governor

I can’t wait to visit your clubs!

International Convention The Key Club International Convention (ICON) is an annual event where Key Clubbers from around the world gather to celebrate service and learn more about what we can do to make this world a brighter place. This year, each day was centered around a different principal of Key Club: Courage to Engage, Call to Lead, and the Heart to Serve.

“ICON was amazing to say the least. To be able to see all the Key Clubbers who love Key Club as much as I do was life changing. I not only met people but grew so much closer to the New York Board, - Trisha Melton, Division 13 Lieutenant Governor

Service Spotlight “On Sunday, July 23rd, I was part of the Key Club Division 14 Service Event to volunteer at the Ironman Lake Placid. I was a little nervous at first, as I had never volunteered at an Ironman before and didn’t really know what to expect. However, the nervousness soon turned to excitement. Our station was handing out cups of Red Bull and Coca-Cola; surprisingly very popular drinks among the competitors. As the runner started to pass us, I got the hang of it. I even got to provide Coca-Cola to the first, second, and third place competitors in both genders (that was the coolest part, by far). I enjoyed myself immensely in those couple of hours and if our Key Club wouldn’t have provided that opportunity, I wouldn’t have had that amazing experience,” - Anna Ellithorpe, Junior at Saranac Lake High School
