Lieutenant Governor’s Letter Hello Division 14! I hope everyone has had an awesome start to their school year! Now that school is back in session, Key Clubs are in full swing! Your club should be having regular meetings and working on recruitment strategies! Involving underclassmen is crucial to the club and it helps them feel like they are apart of something! A few members have approached me in creating a Division Mascot! If this is something you would like to do and have any ideas, please let me know! It would be so awesome to have something to represent the Division as a whole. As always, if you need any help, please do not hesitate to contact me at ericaswirsky.ltg@nydkc.org. I will answer any and all questions you have! Yours in Service, Erica Swirsky, Lieutenant Governor

Leadership Training Conference,
Service Spotlight “I had a blast helping out at the Petrova Open House. Not only were the kids great, but so were the rest of the Key Club volunteers! I spent most of my time with this little guy. We spent the night drawing Spongebob pictures together, watching Garfield, and we even went on a walk. I had so much fun and I would definitely do this again, -Lera Bogdonova, Saranac Lake Key Club
Leadership Training Conference What: Leadership Training Conference (LTC) When: March 23rd—March 25th, 2018 Where: The Desmond Hotel in Albany Theme: Birthday Bash! What is the LTC? The LTC is when hundreds of Key Clubbers from all over the New York District gather to celebrate a year of service and learn more about leading and serving. It is an amazing experience!

Fall Divisional Divisionals are a perfect time for the Division to come together to talk about what is going on, and how we can function better as a group. They also connect you with Key Clubbers from all around our region! We are looking to hold one on either October 20th or October 27th. Please reach out to Lieutenant Governor Erica Swirsky with which date will be better for your club! It will be held at Saranac Lake High School.
Fall Rally Fall Rally is a time for nearby Divisions to gather and celebrate service, and learn how to better serve their communities. It is mandatory for officers to attend. But, it is also understood that Division 14 is one of the most widespread and separated Divisions, and this may be a long hike for some clubs. When: October 21st, 10am-1pm Where: Saratoga Springs High School What: Fall Rally, a time to learn about service! Who: You! Officers, and interested members.
Youth Opportunities Fund The Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) is an endowed fund for Key Club International held within the Kiwanis International Children’s Fund. This fund uses earned interest to help Key Clubs and Key Club members serve the world by providing grants for service opportunities and scholarships for members. It is strongly recommended every club apply for this grant! The application does not take very much time to fill out and can only benefit your club! You can access the application here and more information here.
Trick or Treat for UNICEF Trick or Treat for UNICEF has been around since 1950. When Key Club partnered with UNICEF, the Eliminate Project was born we set out to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. So, during this spooky season, please consider doing this project for your clubs! You can learn more about the project here and here, and get your boxes here.
Sunrise Day Camp This year’s District Project is Sunrise Day Camp. Sunrise Day Camp is a project that gives children with cancer a chance to laugh without stress completely free of charge. And since this is a day camp, patients are still able to continue their treatment. There are currently three camps located in New York (Long Island, Pearl River, Staten Island). You can check out their website here.
The Honeybee Conservancy This year’s Governor Project is The Honeybee Conservancy! As you may know, the bees are dying at an alarming rate. This organization stands to help rebuild the population and educate the population about what a danger the loss of bee could be. The Conservancy builds Bee Sanctuaries that schools, clubs, or people can adopt. You can visit their website here. Note: Please do not send money directly to these organizations. Instead, please send them to District Administrator John Goldstein at 590 Mullock Road, Port Jervis, NY 12771. Included with your check, please send a note stating which charity your check is for. Checks should be made out to Mr. Goldstein and your club name and Division should be included. A big check will be presented to the organizations at the LTC!
Frequently Asked Questions What is an MRF? An MRF (Monthly Report Form) is a form that lets the District know what your club has been up to! Advice Column: Membership Recruitment Back to School is a perfect time to recruitment members.
