Our SCC was 120 to 130,000 for years. Now, it is 85 to 90,000,” Corey Rasmussen reports. Corey, Laura and their children Cassie and Ryle, operate Udder Site Dairy, Harlan, Iowa, home to 300 cows. “We’ve been using Udder Comfort for 8 years, as needed, for early signs of mastitis and to reduce swelling. We were able to eliminate the need for intramammary tubes in our lactating herd a couple years ago. Then we were reading how other dairies spray all fresh udders 2x/day for 5 to 7 days or 3x/day for 3 to 4 days, so we started doing this across the board with great results.

“In summer, it is often 90ºF and up and humid here. Our 300 cow conventional herd was around 300 SCC and that got us penalties. We tried everything -- teat dips, udder lotions and sprays, vaccines and other feed additives. Finally, we saw ads and good results and we called some of these dairymen and got on Immu-Pro and some of their other products. We are very satisfied. SCC dropped, much less mastitis, and good feed intake. Our organic herd also dropped 40% on SCC. Wisconsin Junior State Fair
We are thrilled to be a part of the great group of young dairy enthusiasts listed below. These heifers were born and raised at City Slickers Farm, utilizing embryos from great cow families provided by partners from across the country. Then, these kids from throughout the state of Wisconsin took over. They purchased or leased and worked with their own special project animals throughout the year, and were able to exhibit at county fairs and district and state shows. A huge highlight, for the kids and for us, is the Wisconsin Junior State Fair, the largest junior dairy show in the nation. As you can see by these photos, the future of our dairy industry is in good hands. We’re proud to have the privilege to work with these special young men and women who will have a positive impact on the future of America.
