We live 25 miles west of Minneapolis. Jerry worked oﬀ the farm for 35 years. He was a laborer paving streets in the summer and plowing snow in the winter for the City of Minnetonka. In January of 1982, we had 17 inches of snow on a Wednesday. Two days later, we had 19 inches of snow. Jerry didn’t get home for 5 days. Jan was “Home Alone” milking 34 cows with no extra help. Jan was Fair Manager for the Carver County Fair for 25 years. We exhibited 24 head of Holsteins at the fair for many years, with a garden next to our exhibit with baby calves for the kids to enjoy. We still maintain the garden.
