Greetings!
We are excited to announce that we will soon be rolling out a newly enhanced New Member Sponsor Referral Rewards Program. We believe that a robust "thank you" to those existing Members who invite their friends and circles of influence into Membership is one of the best ways to grow The Club
We are looking to create a true culture and tradition of Membership-through-Sponsorship at Kingsmill, a by-referral-only culture. In this spirit, we ask that each of you, our Members, sponsor just one New Member in 2023. Just one each.
If you know anyone who may be interested in joining The Club, please let me know and I will reach out to them on your behalf
Please contact me at 757-253-3964 or at christopher.rucker@kingsmill.com.
Thank you in advance for your support!

The property is slowly coming back to life this spring. The Bermuda turfgrass is breaking winter dormancy and will continue to green up all through April. The Agronomy staff is patiently waiting to get back to mowing grass and providing consistent playing surfaces throughout spring and summer
By early April, all three golf courses putting greens will be aerified. Aerating putting greens might create a short-term disruption in your game, but the long-term benefits greatly outweigh the inconvenience Our putting greens receive more localized traffic and compaction than all other playing surfaces. The aeration process relieves this compaction and creates channels for air and water movement A heavy topdressing with sand fills the holes and helps keep the surface firm and smooth Regular light sand topdressings throughout the growing season also attributes to a firm, smooth surface and will prevent the greens from developing a “ spongy ” feel Healthy and properly maintained turfgrass will produce high quality putting surfaces
Thank You for your continued support!
Jimmy GabelOne of the most challenging parts of golf is putting aside our negative emotions after a poor score or a bad shot. It’s important to stay confident with your game and trust your abilities to execute the next shot. Here are three ways to improve your mental game when out on the course:
1
It’s important to follow a mental and physical pre-shot routine before executing every shot. This will keep you focused on what you have to do, and when the pressure is on, it helps you manage your nerves.
Do not allow yourself to be seduced by a score or by winning until you run out of holes Give every shot the same equal level of importance and focus on each shot as it comes.
In sports, the human body works effectively when the conscious mind is shut off. You want to swing thinking only of your target and trusting your ability.
Thank you for taking the time to read our Golf Tips for April. We look forward to seeing you out on the course!
Saturday, April 8: Masters Player Draw
Friday, May 5: Cinco De Mayo Event
Friday, May 19: PGA Championship Player Draw
Members can register for the Golf Shop Games events through Golf Genius.
Event invitations will be sent two weeks prior to the event date. All events will be tee times on own.

Hello Spring!! I am very excited to see the cold weather blow away and all the cherry blossoms bursting open around the Resort. The last few months we have had some very successful Member events including Jazz Fest, and a St. Patricks Day Celebration at James Landing Grille We will be doing monthly Member events continuously at various locations around the Resort The pool and tent outside Eagles are just a couple of venues we will be using.
As a reminder, come out to the very successful themed nights at Elements 1010, Wednesday is a Pasta Buffet, Thursday is Burger Night, and Friday is Prime Rib Night As we get deeper into spring we will be making seasonal menu changes to all three restaurants Stay on the look out for Soft Shell Crabs on Friday and Saturday on the next four weeks as they come into season.
Thank you again for all your support. I look forward to seeing you around the Resort.
Thank you, Chef
Out with March wind and showers in with April warmth and flowers Fun tennis took place amid some blustery conditions in March as we managed to have great participation in our Adult and Junior tennis clinics, and we organized a St. Patrick’s Day Pet-Friendly Tennis Mixer with Heritage Humane Society. Members enjoyed mix-andmatch doubles while some adorable adoptables romped around watching the tennis We got organized to host USTA leagues by holding a meeting among interested members to introduce the new guidelines for league play. These guidelines include policies that will respect member privileges and ensure a pleasant playing experience this league season They are now available for all Members to review in our Tennis Shop
We also saw a big increase in Pickleball activity in March. We’ve cleaned the hard courts used for both tennis and pickleball, brought in some new pickleball equipment, and made way for a new program of clinics that will start in April These will soon be listed on our website and posted in our Shop For more information, please stop by or call the Shop.
Looking ahead, we will host the first Peninsula Team Tennis League Match on Sunday, April 2 This league is comprised of the area ’ s best players (former playing professionals, current teaching pros, and 4 5+ rated adults) and will certainly offer enjoyable tennis for spectators. Kingsmill Members and our own Director of Racquet Sports, Davy Hairston, will be in the mix. Announcements will be made with details and posted in our Shop
It is time to get your Spring ON!!
Thanks, Davy
