A shock pad rubber base is installed beneath the grass at varied depths depending on whether play equipment is present. Artificial grass is porous and can be used all year round, making it ideal for both school and public playgrounds. The grass can be used effectively as a cover for mounds and slopes.

RTC Safety Surfaces has specialised in the design and installation of playground safety surfacing and SuDS-compliant surfaces since 1993. Safety surfacing has been specially designed to absorb impact, making it ideal for children’s playgrounds and play areas. Non-slip and non-trip, all surfaces carry a full guarantee.
Composition and manufacture Wet pour is made from a polyurethane/rubber composite. Resin bound rubber mulch is made from 100% recycled rubber shreds bound together with a polyurethane binder. Enviro-Pave SuDS-compliant surfacing comprises rubber granules and decorative stone aggregates bound with a polyurethane binder. All surfaces are formed in-situ by a chemical mixing, levelling, screeding and rolling process.
Finish and appearance Almost any design can be incorporated into the playground surfaces, including logos, games and 3D designs. A choice of 15 standard colours is offered: Red, Yellow, Beige, May Green, Orange, Eggshell, Purple, Sky Blue, Brown, Blue, Black, Earth Yellow, Teal, Grey and Rainbow Green. Other colours are available upon request.
Accreditation RTC’s safety surfaces are tested in accordance with BS EN 1122:2008 and comply with the requirements of BS 7188:1998.

Sport fences Zaun’s welded mesh panel sports fences can be used for many sports including football, basketball, hockey, netball and tennis. Duo® Sports and Super Rebound have two horizontal wires and a single vertical wire for added strength and rigidity. Posts have no protruding sharp edges. Panel ends are protected by continuous clamp bars making them safe. • Duo Sports Duo 6 mesh: 2x6mm horizontals and 1x5mm verticals. Duo 8 mesh: 2x8mm horizontals and 1x6mm verticals.
