t the community forum organised by Eumundi Combined Community Organisation (ECCO) Ltd on 24 May, EDV Residents Group president Johanne Wright said the ministerial appointment of a Boundary Change Commissioner for the de-amalgamation process is likely to happen within two to four weeks. Johanne was invited to inform the community about what to expect in the process and what residents need to do if they support the change, emphasising that it will be community, not politically, driven. She asked the audience to “think Greater Noosa Shire, not just Hastings Street” and to consider that whatever the outcome of the process is, it will affect their children and grandchildren. Since the meeting Johanne has updated Eumundi Green on what can be expected, with further information received from the minister: appointment of a Boundary Change Commissioner in two to three weeks; collaboration between the Commissioner and the Queensland Treasury Corporate (QTC) who will be undertaking the requisite financial analysis; continued on page 5
