Happy Holidays Handshake
By Mr. Mike Barrett. Director
On the final day of school, our traditional "Handshake" ceremony served as a heartfelt farewell and a celebration of our shared achievements throughout the year This warm and emotional exchange between students and teachers reinforced the bonds of respect, affection, and gratitude that define our educational community
Each handshake represented a moment of mutual appreciation, a thank you for the collective effort, and a promise to continue growing and learning together The values of respect, solidarity, and cooperation, which we foster at our school, were evident in every interaction. Students not only bid farewell to a year of learning but also acknowledged the unwavering support of their teachers, who have served as guides and mentors I extend my deepest gratitude to our dedicated teachers for their tireless efforts Their commitment to the holistic development of our students is what makes our school truly exceptional To the students, I offer my sincere congratulations on your hard work and perseverance.
The Handshake activity is a testament to what we can achieve

Inspiring Why not join the library?
By Communications Department
Since February every week one or two groups of Infant pupils have visited our local library, Biblioteca Central Gabriel Ferrater
Some children were already library members while for others this was their first experience of being surrounded by literally hundreds of books just for them to browse
We all know the huge benefits being a member of a library brings to a child Early exposure to a variety of books can ignite a passion for reading which in turn promotes lifelong literacy skills
By engaging with books from an early age children enhance their cognitive skills The stories, pictures and interactive elements of children's books help develop language skills, comprehension, and critical thinking The diverse range of topics available in libraries allows children to explore new ideas and concepts, broadening their horizons
And our local libraries offer much more than just books for children to take home There are story time sessions with families and peers which also provide an opportunity for parents and children to bond This plays a crucial part in every child’s social and emotional development The library becomes a familiar place where they can explore, learn, and grow
Becoming a library member offers young children numerous advantages, from fostering a love for reading and enhancing cognitive development to teaching responsibility and promoting their social and emotional well-being Libraries are not just places to borrow books; they are vibrant centres of learning and community engagement that can play a crucial role in a child’s growth and development Encouraging young children to become library members is a step towards nurturing informed, curious and socially adept individuals
