EISB Inspiring Emotions Matter
By Blanca Fusté de Nicolau, Primary coordinator
Emotions play a crucial role in the well-being and learning of our students, especially in Primary Education A child who can recognise, express, and manage their emotions is better equipped to handle academic and personal challenges In Primary School, which is a key stage for emotional development, addressing emotions helps build a strong foundation for the future We integrate emotional awareness into our daily classroom activities, making it a part of many different subjects and activities For example, we hold assemblies where students can share how they feel and discuss values like respect and empathy We also include specific emotional activities within subjects like Language and Values
In our 5th grade class, we are currently reading a book titled “The Cabin of Restless Minds”, which has provided a great opportunity for meaningful emotional learning Through the book, we created an emotional dictionary where students defined terms such as joy, sadness, fear, and gratitude from their own perspective They also wrote letters addressed to a particular emotion, exploring how it affects them and how they can manage it
The students respond very positively to these activities because they feel their emotions are valued and that they have a space to express them Creative tools like writing also engage them deeply For instance, in the letters to emotions, some students have managed to express fears or insecurities they previously didn’t know how to articulate This not only benefits the students individually but also fosters an environment of trust within the classroom
Working on emotions is not a waste of time, it is an investment in the well-being and learning of our students On one hand, children communicate better with each other and resolve conflicts more constructively On the other hand, it creates a safe learning environment, which improves their academic performance Emotions drive many of our actions, and giving them a space in the classroom helps children become not only better students but also better people

Techno delegates: Empowering daily solutions and inclusion
By Josep Ll Marquès Donoso, IT Department Coordinator
On November 12th, our school proudly introduced the Techno Delegates, a group of enthusiastic secondary school students ready to tackle everyday technical challenges within our school community. These students are not only problem-solvers but also innovators, stepping up to ensure a smoother and more efficient school environment
The Techno Delegates have been entrusted with a variety of responsibilities, from addressing technical issues that arise during the school day to exploring and recommending helpful apps and websites for both students and families Their proactive approach aims to bridge the gap between technology and education, making tools more accessible to everyone in our community
What’s more, the group has undertaken an inspiring collaborative project with NEXE, an organisation with which EISB recently entered into a formal collaboration agreement and which is dedicated to providing support to children with severe disabilities Through this initiative, the Techno Delegates will contribute their skills to improve accessibility and inclusion, demonstrating that technology can truly make a difference in people’s lives
This remarkable project highlights the power of collaboration, innovation, and community service The Techno Delegates are setting an example for us all, proving that even small actions can have a big impact

Sensory activities for young explorers
By Nursery Department
This month, the holiday spirit filled the classrooms of our Infant section with special sensory activities designed for children aged 0 to 3 years Combining the magic of this season with learning, these activities offered unique experiences that stimulated the different senses and delighted the little ones
Some of the highlights included:
Festive Sensory Bottle: a bottle filled with water, glitter, starshaped ribbons, and small red and green pom-poms captivated the children, stimulating their sight and touch.
Felt Tree: a large green felt triangle mounted on the wall became an interactive Christmas tree Children enjoyed decorating and redecorating it with colorful ornaments, encouraging their creativity
Sensory Tray with Colored Rice: using red and green dyed rice as a base, small objects like bells, spoons, and plastic cups created an activity that stimulated hand-eye coordination and allowed children to explore textures and colors
These activities not only provided fun but also promoted the development of fine motor skills, natural curiosity, and a connection with their surroundings They were also a perfect opportunity to encourage family participation and collaboration during such special time of year
Once again, the magic of the upcoming holidays became a chance to learn through play and create unforgettable memories
